    2. sewed up some socks and my busted up draft excluder - also managed to sew a makeshift cover for the handle of DD2 baby swing using one of her old baby grows to cover a few dodgy stains on it which i couldnt get out - the old me would have just got a new one, feeling very domestic goddessy now :D

    3. 2 lots of washing washed and dryed on the line due to the fact its been windy but dry up these parts today

    4. Seeing how excited DD1 when she came home from school and was told her gran was taking her to see the 1 Direction movie (treats and drinks from the house so no expensive consession stands)

  • Good evening all !

ampersand - I like the quote " a spur in the head is worth two in the heel" meaning the rider should have the spur in the head and not the horse...I found it in a very very old "elements of stabling" book (same age as that dress ;))

DD- wow you are having fun :D Not being nosey (much) but is xoh going to have the "x" removed ???

    5 for today

    1. Lovely colleague made some chocolate and beetroot buns with butter icing and some candy things on the top. Yum

    2. Another lovely colleague bought in a lemon cucumber, some courgettes and tomatoes from her allotment for us all.

    3. Work ok- had a nice chat to one of the Regulators . Informal but appropriate chat of course.

    4. Walked up my path and saw a tiny black nose sniffing under the gap under my back gate . Terrier sniffing to "see " if it was me.t did make me laugh.

5.Pasta bake with colleagues courgettes and spicy chicken fillets for tea.

    6. Saw a great clip on another blog about a very frugal lady . Very inspiring.

    Have a good evening all

    1) Lots of lovely yellow stuff, and quite warm yellow stuff at that.

    2) The pleasure of G00gle maps, which meant I could draw up some directions without having to get in my car and physically drive the route to check which exits to take.

    3) Only one more day at work this week. :j

    4) Decided I am very much in a CBA mood so bought some breaded fish fillets and will have one with some oven chips and peas for dinner.

    5) Picked my first proper HG tomato of the year, and a handful of alpine strawberries too.
Back after a very long break!

    Evening!!

I seem to have forgotten yesterday's pleasures.

LFS - don't talk to me about bluddy Star Trek, DD is obsessed
    Take it easy, Skint
    Hello Yorkshire Celt. Great name

    Lots of foodie posts today

    Yesterday's pleasures

1 bit of a lie in
2 DS and OH went out, so with DD at work, had some time to myself
    3 more cleaning.
4 OH cooked Huevos Rancheros for tea. Yummy
5 used up a load of started but not finished things in the fridge for lunch - bit of melon, bit of ham, bit of Brie, you get the picture. Surprisingly nice

    And today

1 last day of the hols (Though DD has another day but I am at work and DS back to school) so I made the most of being able to soak in the bath
2 took kids stationery shopping. Always pricey for a few pens, a bag and some folders. We had lunch in an "all you can eat buffet" that does food from around the world. So stuffed I didn't have to cook tea - OH fended for himself
3 more cleaning, nearly there. Listened to some more lifestyle lectures
4 wore my new bargain out skinny jeans. They look pretty good, if I do say so myself. Even OH noticed
5 can't think of a fifth, except to say what a lovely summer it's been and though I am sorry to see it go, I am trying to embrace autumn,

    Have a good day all
I wanna be in the room where it happens
