5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Here are my pleasures for today (Tuesday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Got sons some new swimming goggles then did a massive shop at Sainsburys. Had gone overdrawn (naughty) so had been living from the cupboard and freezer for a week. All in order now, though.
3) Played table tennis with sons and my brother this afternoon.
4) Had a huge tea - roast chicken and potatoes, carrots and corn on the cob. Had yesterday's plum crumble and custard. We don't have custard very often and bigger son was horrified when he saw it had set in the jug - he didn't know that happened! :-D Got some chicken and veg left and will add some broccoli to it tomorrow and a tin of soup and make a pie.
5) MrN's dog2 was being very noisy so I pushed in a bone under the gate for him. The gate opened and MrN let me in to show me what the dog was barking at - 2 huge elephant hawk moth caterpillars! They must have been 5 cm long. We transported them where the dog couldn't see them anymore.
6) Everything ready for smaller son's return to school tomorrow.
7) House looking surprisingly tidy.
8) Finished Harry Potter book 5 bedtime story! I'm sure I have been reading it all year long. I used to do a chapter a night but it sort of tailed off a bit. Just books 6 and 7 to go.
9) Looking forward to going to bed soon and watching Holby City. Smaller son is in there with pre-school nerves.
and 10) Got some lovely dahlias from brother's neighbour. He leaves bunches of flowers outside (whatever is in season) and they are 50p a time.0 -
Ampersand - I always ask annoiya the goddess of things stuck in drawers when I lose keys (TP reader!). And the wheelbarrow fairy.
1. The wheelbarrow fairy, one day last year a wheelbarrow turned up in our yard. No one knew where it came from, no one admitted to leaving it. It was a good wheelbarrow, green and shiny. So we decided there must be a wheelbarrow fairy who leaves them for deserving women. Since then the wheelbarrow fairy has branched out, she now gets the blame for tidying up, doing the washing up, finding lost things and doing all the little things that other people forget. She looks like me only she's got a nice green dress and wings. And she smiles alot.
2. Aubergines, 2 of them. So shiny and purple. I grow some every year. And never know what to do with them so I just look at their wanton shinyness and 'touch' them (not inappropriately)
3. NDS
4. Hot in the sun, sweaty digging potatoes by hand, and its dusty, so the dust stuck to the sweaty, and I did come home all dirty and OH drew a happy face in the dirt on me and I did the sock print from uber dusty socks in the porch thing again:D I am a DIRTY girly!:p
5. Punnet of blackberries picked and frozen, two pears rescued from waspies and a small purple cabbage. And tomatoes, alot of tomatoes! Have to be more pasta sauce fri! All sat in the kitchen waiting to be loved with their aubergine friends.
I seem to be in a funny mood. Funny good though:) PK glad you're home safe x your poor feet after all that walking!
And I still can't get that bloomin picture to upload so I can show you nun son! Worlds slowest internet connection!
Big hugs and wheelbarrow fairty dust (be warned the dust is black and gets in all your crevices ) to all xx2013 NSD 100. CC2014CC- £31.50/£1352014 NSD 86 so far - May 20/212014 G/C spend £741.55 so far May £107.99/£91Debt Free - 30.05.13 Emergency tin - £1000June 23 - 9NSD0 -

ampers hope the keys turn up. I once put mine in the freezer d'oh
1) up early and all packed for taxi to take us to the airport
2) dd2 drove us home from edinburgh - her first time on the motorway
3) all unpacked, washing done, dogs walked, milk bought and ready for work tomorrow. Well as ready as i can be. Nothing as exciting as mhags watching sausages being made
4) went round to mum's to give her chocolates, thank her for looking after the menagerie, and tell her all about the Prague trip
5) now in bed and just caught up on Corrie. Oh Hayley, oh Roy. Not a dry eye in the house.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Oh dear, sameoldsameold. Post just vanished, back to screensaver.
Checked compost and bin again.
DD- a reason for breaking into shed no. 1 was to check freezer. I'd put bread in and need access for stowing produce, esp. rasps.
skint - France chat suggested magnet for same reason. Have a large one, but it attaches to everything. The keys are a large clanky bunch, house, sheds, car - that's what bewilders.
Thankyou pk, amber, kittikins, piecemeal[yes, will rtn your recipe notebook as soon as...], lfs[did you contact EDP re: Dad's bike? Please do]
Chicken - last use was only to take p/w from glovebox. Took that indoors after locking car and NUL since.
I'll just keep on again today, must cancel Spits[need earnings]and arrange other transport for Concerts, esp. Farnham Maltings for Fri.
This is just way past annoying now.
I need bop's Pledge, which I like very much, to give calm intuitive answer.
Wishing everyone a straightforward and positive day.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Keys? keys!
Came home......DD1 sat outside on porch for an hour....no key, DD2 at rehearsals ....home later...sent her a text...one came back....I don't have a key either....so we had to wait 3 hours from when DD1 got home , until OH got home and let us in!! ....we wandered round op shop, got a pair of gorgeous green cords and bargain of the week....5 pairs of knee high white socks for school at $1.99 a pair, usually about $8-10 a pair!
Then chocolate and juice ....for sustenance you understand!
Nice chat with friend from Sydney on the phone whilst we sat in my car....so not all bad! ampersand we knew where the keys were though...hope yours turn up!
So another fabulous day at workit just gets better every day! Todays lunch was crostata di pollo.....chicken pie! Corn fed chicken and cavolo nero. With broccoli. Just delicious! Came home with chocolate and hazelnut tart and torte di Capri...and cornetto, which is a brioche type croissant shaped cake! Both chefs are so passionate about their food and I am learning so much ( and eating too much....low carbing, so last month! )
Was paid cash for training day and Saturday so that's for groceries this week.
Was a sunny day!
sparrer hope you're okay?
Hope all the little people get on okay going back to school.0 -
Sounds too obvious but you haven't locked your keys in your car glove compartment ampersand? I locked myself out 14 times in 12 years, the RAC knew me by my first name and would ask 'where do we come to today sparrer?' before I'd even told what the problem was - which was of course, keys locked in car! Now I have an all singin', all dancin' gadget which means I can't lock myself out - can I??!
LFS love the story of the wheelbarrow fairy. Please can you drop her a hint that I don't have one? Just a little one would be fine (and green would be perfect!)
1. Was taking photo's of the beautiful evening sky last night when a movement in a tree in the orchard caught my eye - it was a black squirrel. There's a colony living on a common 12 miles away but this is the first time I've seen one in this area. Managed to get a couple of photo's of it before it disappeared across the orchard.
2. Took DD's new pup for her first vac, same vet as I use, they're a bit out in the sticks but so lovely, and don't charge exorbitant fees to step through the door.
3. Saw DGD2, she's getting ready for 6th form where they have to dress in office wear. Very smart
4. Just got an appt at the college for a trim at 2pm. I've a £5 voucher they send me for my birthday so they'll owe me money!
5. 2 loads of clothes on line almost dry, to be ironed this pm ready for my weekend in Hampshire.
Have a beautiful day
ETA Thank you mhags, am good ta just finding lots of things I need do before the weather changes - this weekend by all accounts - and a bit of sleep I needed to catch up on. So pleased you're happy in your new job, and they certainly seem to be looking after you foodwise!

sparrer is okay!0

No, sparrer - they wouldn't fit and car is locked, which is only done by key externally in door lock.
mhagster - the contrast between previous grind/coalface posts and current work is 180 degrees.
Methinks your main challenge now will be the low carbing. Gorgeous sounding dishes, lovingly made from sound ingredients.CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Morning all
Just finished a really boring report :j now I can have lunch.
Ampersand - My OH says I am "massively carp with keys" and he's right. I usually go through a whole process starting at the front door. Often I have dumped them on a chair somewhere and then something else has been dumped on top. Hope you get them soon.
Hello Amber03 - I would never underestimate the joy of your no. 5
Yesterday's pleasures
1. DS went off to school quite happily. I have finally sorted user name and password for the school website, so I could see his timetable and what lessons he was in, so my "how was PE and double german?" was met with a puzzled frown.
2. Work was OK, had coffee and a catch up with colleagues.
3. Didn't do any cleaning
4. Saw an old "Have I got news for you" with the Cucumberpatch hosting - swoon
5. Felt really ill last night - migrainy. OH cooked and cleared up while I snoozed on sofa. Better today though.
RIght, back to work. Have a good one, all
Edit - I want to work where Mhags works...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Soup, role and a strole here in the wisdom words. (hey, Log in at works!!!) Down at the Salt Mine!
Could be betta, I understand that & putah no work no more. Back later with some pleasures.0
