Evening all, from sunny Exeter.
1) Travelled from Hampshire to Devon without any of my usual travel disasters, and even arrived 5 minutes early.
2) Staying in a very posh hotel - 4 star, which I can only afford thanks to stacking various codes and discounts to get 60% off - so enjoying playing with the various toys and freebies, to make sure I get my money's worth.
3) Lovely sunshine - I'm actually feeling a little scorched around the edges.
4) Sitting by the river, with a cold beer, after a lot of walking.
5) Now off to find somewhere to spend the evening watching tennis.
Have a nice evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -

Yes amber - rain predicted and I'd say 'certain' as I have watered wilty things out front ce soir AND intend hanging out big bedding laundry tonight. Bought at Charity for France today, but want it started, at least. Time's tightening over next week and a bit.
1. Picked many beans on rtn tonight, now sliced and blanching before freezer.
2. Nearly all of France shopping now done.
3. W8rs lass gave me 2 biccies with free cappu today:-)
4. Stunning close of day as I left aforementioned purveyor of finest reductions . It stopped many in their tracks as they exited - me included. Took pics.

Found self thinking of this one, as I left my little cross-country spot after more pics looking West. Someone had chucked a Mr T bag of munch rubbish there. I picked it up. Taking to the road again, saw a blue bag, an orange one and more junk. Stopped car, got out and did the deed, thinking of prog. still. Not a goody two-shoes thing, just a Doing thing. If you catch it on i-player, you'll understand. And he's funny.
Long night ahead, best carry on.
I'm worried for Mr A. Murray. I've always felt Wawrinka is his nemesis nasty....
Feeling v.v. anxious now.
6. Good cooking smells - Duchy pork joint, tip-top crackling, stuffed with mozzarella and basil. 79p after 'Is that the best it can be?', even when it was already down to £1.39 from £7.97, which I hadn't seen at that point.

Frith - I think our imaginations must be too good! I find I slip into stories easily and like you find the Harry Potter books quite emotional! (Either that or its the menopausal mood swings in my case!)
DD - ((big hugs hunny)) I used to find saturday nights the worst when I was alone, and I was alone quite a few years before I met OH.(2 marriages, stalker, control freak and being dumped the day before my BD put me off men for a while!) If I can find someone I'm positive you will xx
1. Mate for a long gossip and general world putting to rights session:)
2. Sausage sarnies so I didn't heat the kitchen up too much
3. More bloomin tomatoes and blackberries
4. New head teacher at DS's school with overwhelming need to stamp her identity on school, rule changes, time changes, everything changes! And I find my dislike of authority figures being voiced. I always wondered why my son was such a little rebel. I think its my fault!
5. Little Lard cat needed lots of love today so had many cuddles, with his squeaky little purr:D now his love tanks are full!
I'm happier todayand reading posts on here definitely helps:D And it supposed to rain and I like rain!

Evening all, been very remiss in posting of late.
DD glad you had a lovely time in Prague - onwards and most definitely upwards
Ampersand - I wouldn't be hanging that washing out, it's gonna chuck it down! Well here anyway
Frith, when you mention your boys I can see them so clearly in my mind's eye, sitting playing cards together outside their tent. Not sure my two have ever gotten along so well. Have you seen the video yet? Am I on it?
Yestday s pleasures
1 finally did my external examiners report for other uni, so I can claim expenses now
2 DD had a fab first day at school
3 DS seems determined to do well in his GCSEs, hopefully this will continue
4 continued yellow thing. Not for long, I fear
5 no sign of previous nights weird illness. Just a funny turn after all.
And today's
1 Big one, nasty road accident on Kent bridge was the island where I come from and where many family and friends still live. Many could have been on the accident, including small nieces on school bus. Luckily all avoided it - niece's bus was 10 minutes behind. Luckily also that no one at all was killed.
2 booked flights to Seoul. Weirdly the price has come down so much I can now go both ways business class. Just got to book the tower in Dubai for on the way back, and the hotel.
3 chilli for tea. Got out of freezer this morning and only 2 mins in microwave, as I arrived home laden with shopping at 6.30
4 warmth of sun walking to and from station
5 the smell of some rather jaded looking flowers in the park by work. Really lovely scent.
Sort of day off tomorrow, (more working from home but with lunch with friend thrown in)
Edit - congrats DDI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Talking of imaginations, LFS, this morning I woke up from a funny dream! I had been shopping in Gap (I have absolutely zero interest in clothes shopping and have never been in Gap). Anyway, I was in there possibly buying some clothes for a friend's new baby (?) A nice chap was looking round with me; he was a close friend in the dream. He was pointing out things that looked good and I knew we would be leaving dreary shopping soon for a cup of tea. It was David Beckham!!
Dundeedoll - very well done on your new role!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Bigger son's first day back at school and dropping him off in the car worked well. I can no longer afford his bus pass.
2) Smaller son also had a good day at school.
3) Did some archaeology! Turned out I was digging next to one of my mum's old colleagues from the 1970s. :-)
4) Plenty of breaks and cups of tea (it was really hot) and some fantastic millionaires shortbread that another volunteer had cooked. Much nicer caramel stuff than normal. Ate our lunches under a tree.
5) Found a few bits and pieces and 3 graves today. (Think there will be 20+ graves altogether).
6) Came home and pondered smaller son's paediatrician's appointment next week. We have been seeing the "man with the toys" since 2006. We go in, smaller son is noted as being too tall and slightly too thin. And autistic. Then we have a jolly chat and go home! Anyway, this appointment is with another Dr altogether so not even our nice bloke. I phoned up and asked what would happen if I discharged smaller son - nothing. So I did! They have NEVER done anything for him practically, it really is just a catch up. Felt very rebellious afterwards!
7) Shop bought cottage pie for tea as I am worn out.
8) Having a break from H Potter so started reading the Wind in the Willows for bedtime story tonight.0
