ampersand! Hallelujah with the keys & all right, no questions.
BoP! That pledge may well appear on my cupboard door. Other random quotes are from Shakespeare & other chaps, but they are intended to make people think - yours will fit right in!
kittikins! Hurrah with house sale & momentary awash with money moment!
Welcome, chrisfreelander54! Big School - exciting times...
OS pleasures
All three lads in one school - one set of term dates!
Home made packed lunch. (Worrying rumour waitrose free brew now only free with purchase - can anyone confirm?)
Two sons a-Scouting & their leaders recruiting me! Well, persuading pretty hard. It's very nice to feel so wanted.
Turning the calendar over again & seeing another lovely happy family snap. (It was a promotion & worth every tuppenny for the little "Oh yes!" reminders not just each month but pretty much every time I look at it.)
It's raining - lots of cool wet stuff! I am not built for heat. I find it hard to find wellies that fit too, but my word I prefer the coolth. Not turning on the heating just yet - now we've *found* all the fleeces, we can wear them.
Reading a free ebook on coupon use & thinking that I already do some of these "new ideas" thanks to MSE. (And that there is room for improvement.)
Sorted All Clothes and now have several kilos of outgrown jeans to raise funds for Scouts. Plus another sack for little cousin who thinks my lads are big & glamorous (?!) - must check his mum is OK with combats & DPM, first.
Hugs to all who need them!0 -
Afternoon all.
Chicken - no, I haven't tried room service yet, although I was tempted when I saw pizza on the menu. I've had a good go on the coffee machine, though, scrounged a couple of free bars of fair trade chocolate for friends, and a pair of free slippers for me, and a free paper every morning, which is left outside the door waiting for me.
ampersand - sorry you were right with your prediction re the Murray match.I watched the final set in the hotel bar, through my fingers, and only realised when the last ball hit the dust that the charming young barman was watching me with amused sympathy.
1) One of the deals I used for the hotel was for free breakfast, so I treated myself to poached eggs, bacon and tomato on toast this morning.
2) Reverbered 5p.
3) Lots of rain was forecast so I caught a bus a short distance along the coast to Topsham, a pretty, if somewhat twee, harbour town. I spent a very pleasant few hours wandering around, including a visit to a nature reserve where I saw an osprey! :j
4) Had lunch in a very friendly pub with lovely views across the harbour.
5) Got the bus back to Exeter as it was raining, and arrived just as it started raining here, too, but I don't care because I SAW AN OSPREY!!! :j :j :j
6) Looking forward to an early night tonight - I didn't sleep well last night as the hotel seems to have the world's only solid wood pillows, but they've found some nice soft ones while I've been out today.Back after a very long break!0 -

1. A slight pleasure I couldn’t log on to work from home as the IT dept terminated my account, but I could do some of the work, unfortunately it means a busy Monday but I have to admit I quite enjoyed the day.:cool:
2. Put a few bits and bobs up for sale on a forum to see if there’s any interest but so far nowt, what started it off was digging out receipts for insurers from our chaos, so ended up with bits to sell we had forgotten about, and a bag of junk, suspect about 5 more bags of junk left to clear up there.:o:o
3. The doc says both DH and I both have 2 injuries both whiplash, the jolt for me has caused nerve damage to lumber causing sciatica, he has ankle nerve damage, strong painkillers should be ok but will a fair while, poor doc was also involved in a car accident last week and 2 other accident people there, seems that Kent has lost the plot with driving…..
4. Its one of those days that seems to have disappeared really quickly, loving the rain, but still have a lot of washing to catch up on so it’s all around house at the moment. But it really is a case of if anyone was to come in it’s a very lived in place at the moment, cleaned up the bedroom hovered dusted that sort a thing:p
5. I put a casserole in slow cooking it’s filling the house with lovely smells, and tasted lovely
6. Gluts of tomatoes and herbs0 -
Oh Happy day!
1. DH found my lost recipe notebook by removing a plinth in the kitchen and there it was behind the backboard, having slipped out the back of the drawer (stupid design, clever husband).
2. After sending his smartphone for repair twice and they said they couldn't (i.e. wouldn't) repair it (apparently you can only put their software on it...why am I surprised?) DH has repaired it
3. Lie in this morning...what a pleasure.
4. Discussing rubber chicken with my 70 year old neighbour, who had never heard the phrase, but having brought up 4 children is entirely familiar with the concept.
5. Made apple and plum crumble from fruit given by two different friends.0 -
DD. Bring it on. Big Match this weekend. (I feeeer change at the ....)
5 Rites, than be mes checked in. Thinks I will go back on Monday! Funny thing is that as I was working for a supplier, they put up a new org bored with my name on it. They had to cover it up when previous bosses were in town. eeeeek.

1 Don't nag. Yes, was it you in the red mini who could not get passed the other day. Rushing around. That is the good thing about flexitime. You see, I gis no toss what time I get there, I still arrive on time!
Clear Out, part 1.
If you keep the door closed, you let nothing get in. That you will not get any more problems. They cannot get through that closed door. Put a chain on it as well. Do you feel the chain. Like a ball attached to your leg, slowing you down!
If the troubles cannot get out, you will be ...
Out. what, through a closed door? Troubles will not get out if your door remains closed! Get rid of them. Look at the posts your read. Do your facebuck fiends rattle on about! I had a larf, well yous gotta has a larf the other nite. Bunch of Gerry's in the arms the other day. two for one meals. Not best, but nosh. The bill came to £55 between 6 of them. They spent ten minutes fruffiung about pennies. For sake, it was £10 each! get over it. What was the difference between £10 and £9.50? A farthing!
If I was there and it was my do, Rite lads, that was a tenner. If you did not pay up, do not bother coming back!
But you say you have known them for years. Yes, but would I had gone for another curry with you. No.0 -
