5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Quick 5 from me - very tired!
1) Both sons had good days at school. Smaller son has earned 30 stickers already!
2) Left the very warm house this morning, dropped bigger son off at school then realised the weather was awful! So had to stop off at Sainsburys on the way to archaeology to buy a cheap fleece.
3) Archaeology! Too wet to do anything this morning so had 2 lectures. One from the finds officer then one about recording and paperwork by top man. Now, if we were final year degree students, we would have staggered out of those lectures thinking they were overly detailed and that we had better read up on it! As it was, me and 20 retired people staggered out, had a cup of tea and discussed how much of it we had understood. They were interesting but too hard!
4) After lunch did recording of contexts, which did come back to me a bit from the lecture (!) and uni days. Julian (retired man) and I did a grave.
5) Smaller son's taxi driver kindly dropped him off at the dig (less driving around for me) so smaller son had a sneaky look round! He liked looking at the finds being washed but was slightly worried about the tray full of coffin handles!
6) Went to my sister's house for tea then a mammoth game of Dungeons and Dragons.
Sleep now! More archaeology tomorrow.0 -

5 snorkels, porkers, baconers, beans, toms, mushrooms, poached eggs. All part of the five a day pan. With fried toasts. Washed down with tea.
4 Filling up with positrons. Having good thoughts all day. And I has the Yellow thing glowing I nose, I hit wrong button on oinkPad.
3 Cannot wait till three, but a bit later, bug match with DD. See top of page for my thoughts. Fish, Fish, Fish, Fish.
2 gether with Ms BoP. Beat her at Scrabbles last nite. Hard work as she is getting a lot of practice these days, but a good seven letterer always tips the balance. Played to standard house rules, where the rules are lays placed under the board. If you want too check the rules, you have to up end the bored, so forfeiting the game. I cannot be more grisly than tat. Beard rubs too all!

Tried 30 min short wash on bath mat. Washed ok but refuses to spin ! Apparently it has a "special" electronic device which prevents the spin cycle if the load is unbalanced.... and it couldn't balance with just a sodden bath mat. Had to spin it in the old washing machine which is still in the kitchen at presentAm currently trying a full load of towels, so will see what happens

Hello it's Saturday evening here, we had to put the heating on earlier as it was just so chilly!
Worky work today, busy day but I enjoyed it....not so much when chef was rather angry....but he apologised to me later in the day....it wasn't my fault, honest!
Got the train to work , it only takes 10 minutes and was a nice , sunny walk down the very steep hill.I didn't want to chance parking my car all day in a 3 hour zone on a Saturday. OH picked me up.
Brought home leftover tiramisu ....I don't like coffee to drink but love the smell and when it's covered in cream and cake I can eat it!
I had lentil and pancetta soup for lunch today and an extra long break! Sat with one of the owners sons and had a nice chat with him....mainly about politics and the differences in UK/Aus economy.( general election today)
Home to my lovely family, all in on a Saturday night. Usually DS is out at girlfriends but she's poorly so we had the pleasure of him being home for dinner.
We went to DDs show last night and it was excellent. So much talent and enthusiasm ....but what a blooming cold gym hall! Will be back again next week and will be wrapped up even more than I was last night!
Have a lovely weekend
ETA...we have a new prime minister and a new party in power , so we will see what changes happen!0 -

Evening all.
I've spent today dodging the rain:
1) Dodged into a jewellery shop and found a pair of earrings that perfectly match a bracelet I bought in Birmingham last year, and fairly cheap, too.
2) Dodged into an old priory and, as I was the only visitor at the time, I was given a personal guided tour by one of the volunteers.
3) Dodged into a very nice pub for lunch and had half a pig between two half-loaves (OK, a slight exaggeration, but it was a big ham sandwich!).
4) Dodged into the cathedral and got a ticket which allows unlimited return visits so I can go back another time to take some photos.
5) Dodged into another pub and found someone had left the Telegraph cultural review section on the table, so sat with a wobbleade and read that while listening to the rain outside, and glanced up to find a nice-looking young man in a kilt right outside.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all !
KK - well done !
