    My five for yesterday are

    1. Collecting MIL from hospital - she had been admitted overnight. She seems physically fine but confused.

    2. Picking and bringing home blakcurramts and gooseberries from MIL garden which MIL is not allowed to eat anymore.

    3. Seeing some lovely countryside on my jorney as I drove past it very slowly in traffic jams.

    4. Buying a dress for a wedding next weekend and the cheapest one looking the best when I tried it on. I choose one that I could wear to DS1 fraduation aswell the week sfter.

    5. All in so watched a film together this evening after tea during which had great conversation. Quite rare for all to be at home together.

not really any pleasures for yesterday as DS got into trouble at school :(

The day before there had been an incident with another boy which resulted in DS saying to him "go and kill yourself" which is horrific, given that DS's uncle did just that. Apparently this is a standard "joke" at school god knows Why because it isn't at all funny.

The boy then said what like your uncle did?

DS said he didn't do anything Then but other boys were telling him that he should've hit the boy that said that.

He must've come home and stewed the matter over and so when he went back yesterday and the boys were telling him again that he should've hit the child that said that about his uncl, he turned round and did just that thumping him in the face.

so now we have him in exclusion on monday and, potentially, some parents looking for an assault charge.

We are totally shocked, upset and disappointed in him and he knows it. I am not as concerned with the punch (not that it's right but boys do fight) but the premeditation and the peer pressure.

OH is still livid with him. Luckily DS is off to Alton Towers today with his mate (we couldn't take that off him as it is mates birthday and it would be punishing him too) so hopefully OH will have calmed down by the time DS comes home.

pleasures have been a lovely PM from someone on this thread
I got a new I pad free from work
everyone saying that it is out of character for DS to do that and he must have been provoked
    DD play went well
started planning party games for DD party tomorrow while watching Sherlock
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Oh poor you VJsmum and poor DS as well - the peer pressure as a teenager is so horrible :( I know you and OH will deal with it all brilliantly, and hope it hasn't brought up lots of sad memories x

Can I join this thread please? I think I need to focus on the positive things that happen in my life and thinking of 5 OS pleasures a day will be good way to do it.
    1. OH and I went to the optician yesterday for 2 yearly check up, we wear glasses and were thrilled to discover there was no change in our eyes - so no new glasses needed! Result!

    2. I had my haircut this week and am really pleased with it.

    3. Took the dog for her annual boosters at a new vet, very near our home. New vet was very nice and gave her a thorough check over - declared she was very healthy for a 10 yr old dog including her teeth.

    4. We have been eating strawberries from the garden every day and there are more to come.

    5.The weather is a joy.

    Welcome bizzylizzy
Feel for you vjsmum ds was excluded in his first year for a week. One of the worst things about it was the peer admiration he gained.
Night out not brilliant. I got rather morose. I know i know far too early to think about dating but didnt stop me thinking eek how does one do it?! Would i fancy any of the guys in here anyway? (Answer defo no) one chap asked if me and my (female) friend were a couple. then home to email from lesbian friend who is now single who sez i would make a terrific lesbian and a spam re setting up a business subject line 'it's hard going alone' today i can see the funny side of it all but last night had a good sob. Fml as dd2 would say.
Today the sun is shining and we're taking the pups for their first walk (though we still have to hold them for the next week rather than let them run around)
