5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

1. Thanks button present and working again. All removed merci's now replaced. Often, it doesn't even show up on posts.
2. mcculloch - so I now see your happy Henning purchase - do review here when you've had a chance to watch with DS:-) Of course, I'll happily relieve you of that tiresome new piece of techno kit....not sure if similar would make much difference round here.
3. Neighbour's hens and bunnies were being let out just as I was putting our rubbish out - just in time. One new bunny is ginormous - 50cm at the shoulder! The pecking order is self-revising. Fascinating to watch.
4. Vigil with x and we are through to another day. From x[not computer-literate] :'Can you say Thankyou for even thinking of me, someone they don't even know. Tell them I don't know how they do it, but it's really, really nice to think of.' Done, gladly.
5. An add-on, just for chicken, who I notice does not lament her failure to join us at The Wimbo Wireless, only a few hundred miles away, in a marquee on the hottest day of the year..spent 10pm Monday>9.30am Tuesday with putah turned round so I could TRULY live, with Moving Pictures, not only The Match, but also The Documentary - and many were the times I jumped up to replay many points. Now, surely you would have downed everything and come rushing here, had you realised? Little terrier could have come too. 11.5 gloriously uninterrupted hours of dark tennis materials.
6. Dull and overcast, brekkie awaits before cricket and many tasks today. bop - hope you're not backsliding. I am unaware of permission being granted for you to turn yellow thing off, or down.
Welcome jackieO - lots of good sense. Look forward to seeing your siggie final sentence still jumping with joy on 31 July.
Oh -and frith, or rather younger son - own personal taxi to/from school! But it is clearly sensible for the time saved and what this gives back to him. Fantastic congratulations on that school report[and the other one]. Younger son might like to perfect The Royal Wave to the commoners as he leaves each day:-)

My five for yesterday;
1. Lovely lunch and catch up with mum
2. Much needed hair cut
3. Good hospital appointment, felt listened to which makes a change!
4. Nice chat with OH
5. Cuppa tea and some create and craft t.v- only window shopping :money:Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
Got three lads packed lunches sorted (and mine!) before I came into work.
Held the door for a very pregnant colleague - over the lintel she's covered by loads more regulations for her wellbeing than on the pavement. (Wonder how the Duchess is doing? All the best!)
Finally flipped the calendar over by a month (it's all been a bit daft) & saw a holiday snap from last year I'd forgotten - all the menfolk, all well & happy. (Ah yes. Those grins are why I'm in this office.)
Saw, checked & shared the gladsome news that a really smashing TARDIS Shawl pattern (already in Freebies) is also already on Ravelry.
Looking forward to tonight's school Awards Evening, where two of mine will be up for something. No pupil or parent knows just what, hence attendance at this bash is always high!0 -
Morning all - s'posed to be marking
Oh dear LFS, it's not really :rotfl: but kind of is!
My DD and her chums use Star Trek names as swear words (I don't know where she gets it from, I really don't). Would that come under "Shatner"??(Others are "Chekov", "Oh Spock", etc!)
Ampersand - what a lovely friend you are
PK - good luck with whatever your CV brings. I haven't written a proper CV or had a job interview for nearly 20 years  (kind of fell into my teaching jobs by accident / serendipity). Hope never to have one again
JackieO - I second Chicken's love of your posts. A woman after my own heart who won't spend more than they have to but will indulge the savings in pleasurable activities. Please keep posting
Yesterday's pleasures
1. Didn't have to do the school run. Gave DD the day off as she is embroiled in massive rehearsals for the weekend (4.30 - 9.30 every day). she only had one lesson today, so we let her miss itShe woke at 10.30 greatly refreshed.
2. Bacon and egg for lunch - yum
3. Got nearly all of my resit marking done (final one being done now) and most have passed :T
4. Curry night with the girls. Nice to catch up and lovely food and a glass of wine for £5.50
Can't think of a 5th - your lovely posts, there!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Ampersand I can find the usual recipes on google but I've never cooked jam so wouldn't know what to reccommend
Feeling a tiny bit envious of DH at the moment who has been working outside the past few days and has the most amazing brown tan. I just don’t go anywhere near that I go from transparent to lighter.:rotfl:
1. Pasta bake tonight.
2. Watching bird babies feed from our feeders:T
3. Being a bit of a lazy bum tonight:o
4. We have to do a little Mr T run for top up bits.

At one point, I remembered banking, left all safely there and on rtn, saw young Mgr reducing six £8:http://www.pacificcallas.com/Callafornia%20Callas%20Large%20Pictures/Pacific%20Callas%20Variety%20Yellow%20Hybrid.jpg to 59p each! tlc has begun. pm sent. Guess to whom:-) A survivor will head to Pompey at some point.
Thanks again, ampersand.
PK - I know what you mean about people going horribly brown: I've got a friend with Moroccan ancestry who goes mahogany-coloured at the first glimpse of the sun. I'm lucky enough to have pretty tought skin that doesn't burn unless I'm really careless, but I never really change colour so I'm deeply envious of her tan!
1) After a dull, grey start the yellow thing's back.
2) Only more more day at work, and that's got a colleague's leaving do in the middle of it so it's a nice, short day.
3) Using up veggie odds and ends for dinner - roast squash and bean salad.
4) Pub quiz tonight.
I can't think of a fifth one, but I've been over my five a day several times recently so this brings my average down a bit.Back after a very long break!0 -
My five are
1. Lovely walk this morning - warm even at 6am
2. Salad for tea with gammon also couscous.
3. Having conversation and laugh with DS1
4. NSD
5. Ironing done.0 -
Good evening all !
JackieO - you have the balance just right! Saving the cash for special times with people that you care about . Priceless x
ampersand - errr.. no thank youYou have not lured me to centre court just yet I'm afraid . The terrier , yes .She is obsessed by tennis balls and will always bring her ball right back every time it's thrown. This goes on for hours, and hours... just like tennis really:D:rotfl:
Skintos- ouch ! I do feel for you x
5 for today
1. Site visit went well
2.Which meant office time went swiftly
3. Foolish line manager sent my colleague something extemely confidential, that should have been sent to me . He sent me an apology. No harm done- scared the carp out of him though.
4.Terrier took me to the park
5. Nasi Goreng for tea - a little too spicy for OH:rotfl:
6. Off until Mondaysorry Skintos
have a lovely evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
