& Yous sees, I am struggling to get Yellow thing up nd running, but it is hanging in there.
Rites, thats be Ms Twack ok. Yous see her BoP hardly ever gets through the thirst weeks of July without coming a cropper. So just thinks. 1994 was the engine fire on testing a Boeing 737 and the back. 1992 was the leg. 2005 was coming off the bike at full pelt, Blue Lights. Last year was a topple with Jenny, :heartpuls and another blue lights.
Well this years, no problemo gals. Bu99er. Nearly went splits knacker as lace gots caught in pedals.
No pleasure as aways from Ms Smacks.
Oh, POETS Day the morrow.0 -
1. Sunshine
2. Fab day at work, although a few things went t1ts up and I was covered in glory as I discovered a monumental coooootle up and suggested a solution, but oh what a shame, I couldn't actually do the very dull and laborious fixing of said issue as it was nearly home time
3. Unexpected, very small, but what the heck, it's all good, tax rebate came through the post
4. Whisked little Miss Kitty down to Brighton for a surprise - we went on the Wheel in the glorious sunshine.....and laughed at sunbathing seagulls
5.....then spent £2 on the pier playing the 2p machines....
6....and ended up going for yummy dinner (not MS but I'd 'saved money' by cancelling my usual Thursday evening plans and not needing a babysitter).
7. The cuddles from DD when she realised that I was taking her on the Wheel; she's wanted to experience it since it was opened, and time is running out for us!
8. Lovely phone message from my mummykins.
9. Lovely posh shoes I bought ultra-cheaply from the bay of e arrived:)
10. 3 fantastic hardback books for DD's that-celebration-at-the-end-of-the-year (am I allowed to mention Christ*** yet? lol) arrived from Book People - only £10 for the lot, free delivery and ultra-speedy delivery, yay
11. Feeling happy tonight - most welcomed after a few days of nervousness and worry.
12. Found my credit card which had been missing for a week! I knew it would be around somewhere and lo and behold, it was0 -
bop - it's take it like a bearded man moment. I have marked you down on Technical, as yellow thing did not clock on until 1018h.
This is too late as my oak tree makes shadows late afternoon, requiring & to shift matelas, book, latest dead tea, pillow, apples, ancient lump of aircell blanket etc.etc. ...all the old sun-on-grass paraphernalia. I eventually run out of soleil and hope and overnight is a long and uncertain wait for possible more in this country. If you wish to gain your Level 3, you must work harder on your Zenith Pulley, to raise sun fulcrum above the annual height increase of said quercus petraea, acorn d.o.b 2000. This assignment has been due in for months. Final extension granted: cut-off tomorrow.
[Why are you wearing lace when absent from Lady Smacks? Does she know? Approve? Lend?]
1. npd, nearly said nsd...well, all except NZ postage. Small Penguin size book was £4.70! Printed Paper rate was abolished 3 wks ago, I'm told.
2. 1018h - bop did yellow thing - & happy.
3. Something has turned out scrumptiously. Had never even seen pig cheek for sale until in w8rs the other day...hugely rtc[41p per kg!], was persuaded to try by enthusiastic and delightful young Jacob. Looked beautiful, like lamb steaks. I have just portioned 2kg for freezer from long session in slow cooker, post-o/n marinade. Did it with pinot grigio, dried apricots, cardamon, sweet chilli, paprika, demerara, onion, coriander, tarragon, olive oil, probably other - can't remember now. It is divine and I promise I won't tell you what the viande is when you taste it, if you'd sooner not know. Who else has read 'Dining at Sbirro's'?
3. Had the densely flavoured leftover jus on rice just now....lush.
4. Wonderful day of cricket...extraordinary roller coaster of fortune. Young Ashton Agar....aagh! Phil Tufnell, J Agnew and Geoffrey, with Jim Maxwell and wotsit McGrath shaping up nicely in commentary. Great stuff.
5. Gave self afternoon off. Outside. Prone. Yellow thing YES!!!
6. Resumed Prue Leith's marvellous autobiog, shunted to sidings during wimbo, and it just gets better.

I vicariously share that decision also as that is what BiL chose to do, leaving a wife and 2 very small children, and a mother, brother and sister. 3 years on, we are all still living with that decision and many are still trying to come to terms. All I know for us is that we did everything we could and had known for some time what the outcome would be. Others have more of a shock, I know. Awful - and for you to relive it too. Strength to you - you are amazing.

Glad to see Kittikins has Brightoned up (see what I did there!) - as one door closes..
Had total disaster this morning, flying round the house like I do attempting to do 3 things at once, my foot caught in the laptop cable. CRASH!! - it fell to the floor :(
1. Computer genius me (I'm so not), managed to attach PC monitor to laptop and it works! :T The screen is shattered. So, think I, I will just transfer files, then
2. Computer genius cousin (who really is) suggested that I can simply buy a new screen, watch and follow a "how to" video on youtube et voila - laptop will be restored for £40:T! Phew.
3. Channelling Frith's "Not a bad sleep" I had "not a bad walk" through the park to work and, better, back in the sunshine
4. Strawberries and cream after tea. Tea was herring fillet in a mustard sauce from Aldee served with salad. Surprisingly yum, it appealed to my (non-existent) inner Swede.
5. Ironing is all caught up and upstairs dusted.
Just waiting for OH and DD to come back from final rehearsals - the show is tomorrow and Saturday. I am in DD's black books as I refused to drive to school, pick up her coat and take it into the centre of Birmingham for her. It would have been a 2 hour round trip at 5 o'clock. Ah well, she'll be in therapy for worse
Night night allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Ampersand - sorry to hear your updated news about x's partner. I don't have any first hand knowledge but on my sister's 18th birthday she had a huge BBQ and party at mum and dad's. She then got a phone call at 2am from one of her friends (also 18) who had got home from the party to the news that her dad had done the same. No one in that group of friends will ever forget it.
Well, I've had a most annoying day to the point that I ended up in tears this morning. Then found I couldn't stop being in tears for ages (well, half an hour!) so have a headache now.
I phoned the county council. Again, they said they couldn't tell me if smaller son has a place on the special unit. Actually, they couldn't tell me anything this morning, I got a right pr@t on the phone... Promised to phone me back - didn't.
I phoned back. Suddenly got very cross. Informed them I am NOT Mrs R, I am Miss. That I have phoned 35 - 40 times and do not get anywhere. That they take my name and number every time I phone as though I am new and a surprise caller to them. That I now have ELEVEN DAYS to complete son's statement with the name of a school and I CAN'T.
She hung up on me. So I emailed the chief executive and the head of Children's Services at some length. I might have mentioned converging on County Hall tomorrow with the press (goodness knows how I would do that! Do you just phone them up??)
Anyway, pleasures for today....
1) Wasp man phoned and he will come on Monday and kill them.
2) Went with my mum to Worcester and the weather was (still is) lovely. Got sons some soap from Lush.
3) Did 2 geocaches whilst in the city.
4) Had soup and a sandwich whilst out.
5) Tasty tea - pizza, little bit of last night's cheese and potato pie, salad and corn on the cob.
6) Watched Big Bang Theory.
7) Solicitor phoned and said he will chase everyone and that they have been rubbish throughout.
8) and then, just before 6.... Lord High Emperor of Children's Services phoned! Apologised lots of times. Asked lots of questions. Said he will get me an answer by Monday. (He's only been in the job for 8 days). He described how the system doesn't actually work. I think I said everything I needed - that smaller son isn't just being thrown into a new school on the first day in September - he is going to get a proper transition. That I need to know if the unit can take him. And I want an extension to the statementing process and they have faffed so much there isn't time for me to look round/do anything before the deadline. They can ignore their deadlines - well, so can I.
Hopefully a better day tomorrow.0 -

How disappointing.....
Up to that moment, I had a vairy Artistic Impression.

frith- 'Wasp man phoned and he will come on Monday and kill them' may be cathartic, but I'd give new Emperor a chance to test-drive his electronic cattle prod first.

LOL, Ampersand! There are probably laws about having that much poison on your van!
Oddly enough, Wasp Man used to work for the same district council as me. So I know his name and will probably recognise him on Monday. Just reminiscing now but, when the museum I worked in closed for the winter, we left the heating/humidifiers on and locked everything up. We went in one gallery to check something and there was hundreds of queen wasps. I mean - probably thousands. We crunched across them on the floor and they were thick on the window sills and even the window bars (Georgian building). Wasp man will probably remember that!
I phoned the district council to ask about wasp killing and they took my number, phoned Wasp man for me (now a private company) and he phoned me back and is coming on Monday. If one council can manage that, why can't the county council phone a couple of phone calls....0 -
Dear Frith - how can it not be obvious? Queen Wasp - there you go. Instant attention. Action rolls. You are black and yellow striping beautifully:-)CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:
