Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

Skint - I'm sorry to hear about your leg - I hope that improves NOW, or even more quickly than that.

    1) Ran one of my work events today and it was as enjoyable as always, although I could have done without the mislabelled 'sultana' biscuit that turned out to be chocolate chip. I think my colleague found my splutters and desperate dive for some coffee to wash away the taste rather funnier than I did. :o

    2) Rescued some LO food from the lunchtime buffet, despite another colleague's open distaste for eating food that wasn't freshly prepared. I noticed as I was leaving the office that she was eating the mini chocolate cakes which were among my haul, though, so her dislike of 'stale' food can't be that strong! :rotfl:

    3) Got home tired and in some pain - although it's nowhere near as bad as it has been for the past couple of days - and cheered myself up in very un-OS fashion with some SO Yankee Candles bought online. Even at SO prices they're not exactly cheap, but they cheer me up so much I reckon they're worth it as an occasional treat.

    4) Filled up my fruit bowl with fruit rescued from the event. :money: Some of it is a bit over-ripe but will be fine cooked - I see a spiced pear and plum crumble on the horizon.

    5) Usually I get a takeaway after one of the work events but I've got a grocery delivery on its way so have added a RM pizza to the order: that's money saving of a sort, anyway! ;)
Back after a very long break!

Not a pleasure our fraud continues on, more received today, I just cant get my head around there seems to be no way to stop it. DH has progressed it to the police fraud squad 2 weeks ago, who said to let them know should it continue, so he is going to get back in contact to progress it

1.Worked from home and got lots done again get far more done as well.
2.Its Friday and I am in Friday mood.:)
3.Bowl of warming soup for lunch
4.Watching the animals play and bounce of each other made me downright laugh, esp, when a swaying daffodil obviously attacked them.:rotfl:
5.We are going out this weekend to choose a TV courtesy of dad, it feels a bit odd but he is determined, we have put him off a year and he still remembers so now we will take him up on it, it will be very odd to say goodbye to the first thing I ever bought with my first wage but it will be quite an improvement hopefully. Updated to say looking at the traffic and talking to neighbours we won’t be going anywhere tonight, that will be a tomorrow thing then and takeaway tonight if I can find a voucher.
    6. DH snoozing on the sofa I’m also drowsy maybe a nap before takeaway.:o:D

BoP - 12 Angry Men is one of my favouritist films ever - if not THE favourite
Old Tractor - long time to wait for a collar ;)
Chicken - I find that it doesn't really matter what brand eye make up remover I use as they all seem the same (ish). I like Simple, but mostly I use olive oil as an all-in-one cleanser, make up remover and moisturiser cos I'm lazy :o.
CCP - rescued food - YUM
PK - ouch re the fraud, I don't know how people can do that to other people

    TOdays

    1. Intended to be on 8.02 train but woke early so went on 7.15, which put me at dads a whole hour earlier than planned, thanks to brilliant London connection
    2. A short walk by the sea - a bit different to my 10 miler on Monday. I spent the first 19 years of my life by the sea and the following 30 away from it but I still miss it and now live pretty much as far away as you can get in this country.
    3. Yummy roast turkey and roast spuds cooked by my brother - his spuds are nearly as good as dads and far better than mine
    4. Dad seems in pretty good spirits and I was able to help him sort out his mortgage final payment next month :T
    5. Excellent connections on the way back have meant that I should be home an hour early (touch wood, i am still en route)

    Have a good evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • All of my 5 are rolled into one today.

Had an appointment with the Rheumy dept plus bloods and x-rays this morning. Driving home, wind howling, rain chucking it down in buckets, sudden loud thumping from the car.

Pulled into the next layby, thankfully only about 50 yards away. Rear tyre is smoking and shredded to bits:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Credit on phone run out and not able to top up until next Thursday when tax credits are paid in.

LOVELY, LOVELY, LOVELY lorry driver who pulled in behind me offered to change the wheel for me (I wasn't pulling the 'helpless female' act either!) in the pouring rain.

I was so grateful I could have hugged and kissed him! Instead I gave him my last £10 note. I now have only £3.54 to last me until next Thursday but I don't care. I have a good stockpile of food in the pantry/freezer, the animals are stocked up on food and there is enough petrol in the car to last. The only thing we will need is milk and possibly butter.

I wish I could remember the name of his company so that I could write to them but in any case, I hope he enjoys a pint down the pub tonight for his kindness.

After all the shenanigans over MT's death, it has restored my faith in humankind.

    Pleasures

    1. the rain had stopped by time I went to work and the roads were clear. Woke up at 3.30am  and could not get back to sleep rain was lashing down, what a noise !

    2. Went into work for 8am start and finished at 1 pm... thank goodness for flexi time

    3. work have agreed to my request for 4 short days over next 2 weeks so I can finish at lunch time and rest my leg in the afternoons. They also gave me a parking space for the next 2 weeks

    4. have agreed £200 with DS and he is happy with that but told him this may be subject to change if I need more/bills go up, or if he gets a payrise. This is half the food / utility / broadband bills per month plus the 25% discount I will lose on poll tax. This should leave him enough to pay for a car (insurance is huge for 18yo males about £400 pm just for a clio! and may be more if his licence is medically restricted once hes passed his test )

    5. its FRIDAY !!!! :j:j

Have a good weekend everyone x

Post disappeared again. Screen rolling fast like credits in cinema, going grey scale, highlighted on and off, in parts and whole, and I'm doing nothing. Hands free.
Fed up, so I'll read and catch up later.
Even getting this far has taken another 15mins and several rpt typings.

    Evening

Lillibet - what a lovely man to help you, agree that it restores your faith in human nature.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Packed lunches and breakfasts for me and OH today
    2. Lovely call with DD who sounds like she had a great day with my mum. She was let down Wednesday & Thursday by a cousin so glad she had a good day today. It will also do my mum good to be out and about with her.
    3. Paid credit card bill and hoping there will be some extra money in the account again at the end of the month as it will be DM's 70th birthday and will need to pay for a present for her.
    4. Popped into Waitrose on way home and picked up a free packet of crisps, their free magazine and some YS GU desserts (very yummy) as used some vouchers came to 57p. :money:
    5. We were going to go out for dinner tonight but as out tomorrow decided on a naughty takeaway from Nandos. We did have the childrens meal though so was quite reasonable and got a free dessert. Also made full use of the little pots you get to fill up with sauce, will use them to marinade some chicken in next week :D

Looking forward to a wander around London tomorrow with OH and he will be buying lunch (he just doesn't know it yet)

Hugs to all who need them
