Evening all.
Chicken - I forgot to say yesterday that I was sorry to hear about your hen. I know it's no consolation, but there can be no doubt she had a good life with you.
I've had a lazy sort of day today, watching sport, reading my book and trying not to think about my hospital appointment tomorrow morning. I thought it was bad the first time, going in not knowing what to expect, but it's even worse knowing what's going to happen and how much it's going to hurt. _pale_ Anyway:
1) Lie-in this morning.
2) Sausage sandwich for brunch.
3) Watching the replay of the grand prix. It was a good race, although a disastrous one for my fantasy F1 team - it would help if my drivers actually reached the end of the race!
4) Chatting to my DPs on the phone.
5) Spicy slow-cooked beef for dinner.
Have a good evening, all, and I'll hopefully see you tomorrow...Back after a very long break!0 -
I am stressing up now sadly to a bad day tomorrow, but trying not to pre empt and this is a pleasures thread so..
1. I remembered to get some bacon out to defost for Sunday breakfast.:)
2. DH and I were also discussing ISA’s, time to sort it out for the new year so to speak, and we have finished getting the bits and pieces together and walked them to the post box to tick off the list hopefully.:D
3. We were up and doing little so we went out to an afternoon boot fair, it was nice to be out in the lovely weather, bought 2 things, a set of 6 large industrial castors for £5 and a toblerone model car for £1.
4. We have just won something off “the auction site” that we have been looking out for, and at a great price, now I hope it works ok.:rotfl:
5. I cooked coffee and walnut cupcakes, banana loaf, and just cooked dinner up a really mild almond pasanada with chips.:)
6. Enjoyed a pear cider while working on the OGV in the late afternoon sun.:beer:0 -
Evening all
I, too, was sorry to hear about your chicken, Chicken.
PK - hope your day is better than you fear
Oh dear, CCP, hope your recovery is better this time and it's sorted once and for all
Today's pleasures
1. Woke up at 5.30 but did manage more sleep till OH woke me at 8. That seems to be the time he thinks I should get up. I wouldn't mind, but he gets back into bed and falls straight to sleep.
2. Gardening - :T lovely to be out in something a bit warmer, if not exactly sunny. The work i did on my one bed last year has paid off and it's beautifully prepared for planting. Elsewhere I've planted spuds and salads and raspberries and am planning what else. Started off my runner beans too.
3. Rewarded myself with a lovely bath and a read of DD's Hunger games book
4. Just been for a walk with OH - was a nice evening so seemed a shame to waste it.
5. Listening to a bird in our big beech tree this morning, singing it's little heart out it was.
Back to the same old, same old tomorrowI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
1. Sunshine
2. Nice to see some drop tops and bikes - pedal and horsepowered - on the roads even if it is still a bit chilly
3. The daffys are almost all in full bloom and the smell in the lounge and kitchen is lovely.
4 Good lunchtime meeting with friends
5. Made a beef stew which is filling the house with more good smells
Sweet dreams0 -
Evening all! What an eventful week and now weekend. I went back to school on Thursday and it's been non-stop. We learnt yesterday that the school had been broken into late on Friday night and laptops which are used by the children have been stolen.
My class had been using them to create a blog, which was going down very well. Anyway, luckily the caretaker's daughter heard the burglar alarm going off but not before the damage had been done. Despicable.
However, in the meantime I've been able to get on with other things and I've got 5 pleasures for the weekend:
1) Lying in bed this morning with the cat I rescued 11 years ago sleeping on my tummy (DH and I were staying at my parents' house, which is where the rescued cat lives!).
2) Coffee and a gossip with a friend.
3) Pay out from Top Cashback of a tidy sum. This will go towards paying for the rail fare to get to my best friend's wedding in July. :money:
4) Front garden has been seeded by DH. Let's hope for some grass sometime soon...
5) Planning almost complete. This is NOT a pleasure, but it is a pleasure coming up with some good ideas!
Have a good week everyone
