    A small collection.

    1. Huge lie - in this morning. I'd fallen asleep yesterday evening for an hour or so and it was difficult to switch off.

    2. Lovely brunch of 'mock cream tea' - wrong time of day for UK tastes perhaps, but a German-style brekkie of Crackerbread topped with low fat cream cheese and blackcurrant conserve (A!di's finest).

    3. Went online to check spends in bank account and discovered that I can now follow the progress of my mortgage with online banking. Jolly good, nice to see the amount outstanding dropping steadily.

    4. Think I have encouraged learner who is struggling to accept the help being offered, she is so proud and wants to prove she can do it on her own, but she does need help.

    5. Mauve tulips that DD gave me last week are still going strong, and look good for another few days.

    6. DS has put first coat of undercoat up on outhouse fascia, yippee. Took a sneaky look at him doing it and he was taking real care, but also sensibly using the broadest brush possible to get quick coverage.

Further pleasure: had wanted to order some books from The Book People but missed a free postage over £10 offer and couldn't see enough I wanted to justify a £25 spend. They've now extended the offer until midnight Sunday, code 'TENNER' at checkout.

    Good afternoon all!

Who said it was warming up ! Bally freezin ' here !

VJsmum - I don't like the smell of olive oil , so wouldn't fancy it on my face ;) I "puff up" around my eyes at the slightest thing- even Johnso*s baby lotion sets my eyes a smarting and don't have any antihistamines to hand so I am wary . The B**ts sensitive stuff for less than £2 was fab. No panda eyes.

Skintos - Glad to hear that you have reduced hours and parking space for a while .

lillibet- that was nice of the lorry driver and tbh I would have been so chuffed I would have given him a tenner or errr..... in the past my phone number, or get his ;):D Naughty Chicken:rotfl: .

    6 for today

1.A little sad as lost one of my hens this morning and we have had her for a few years. One of the highs and lows of owning critters as Sparrer said about Oscar there isn't often much of a warning with birds. Still got 7 other demanding ones to keep me occupied.

2.Managed to motivate OH enough to get CD's out of the loft to flog- I can't climb ladders I am not just being lazy. Couldn't resist a bit of a boogie to Jamiroqui (sp?) - I am not flogging that or Bowie, so I have hidden them back upstairs:D.

    3. Logged the barcodes in to a website that buys them and it aint gonna make me rich !, but clears out the loft a bit.

4.OH found the brand new OGV factory fitted stereo that came with the car also in the "magic" loft - we put another system in , so that can go too.

5.Shifted some savings into new tax year ISA . Will need to put aside a whole day to get the best deals this year as there will be no pay rise this year .We need to get the best out of what we have got , which requires careful planning. Thankful that we have put some by as I am acutely aware that many are struggling to make ends meet.

    6. To Kill a Mockingbird on tv one of my favourites.

Have a good day all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

:rotfl:Ooops CCP ! it seems DS has transfered to you in a few posts ...let me know where you live and I'll move him in :rotfl:

Hmm... thanks for the very generous offer but I think I'll have to decline. ;)

    1) The polar opposite of an NSD, but I am now the proud owner of a VW Polo. :j

    2) Caught up on some online surveys - mostly quite dull ones, but they earned me a fiver. :money:

    3) A sort-of pleasure: deciding I can't be bothered to keep checking if the van that has stolen my parking space has moved and my new car can stay on the road for tonight. The pleasure is in watching the rain knowing I'm not now going to have to go back out in it!

    4) Sausage and baked bean casserole for dinner tonight.

    5) And some sausages left over for a sausage sarnie for brunch tomorrow. again
Back after a very long break!

chicken so sorry to hear about your hen, it's horrible when it happens so unexpectedly :(. If the company re the CD's has a birdy name they're very good imo, and pay on the dot
mcculloch good news re the TENNER offer :T
DD I'm green with envy, I love RED hair! But ladies of a certain age just don't, more's the pity ;)
    BoP 16 - 12. Aww, shame :p
CCP congratulations on your new car :D

    1. Woke to the most beautiful morning so a terrible decision to make. The regional meeting at which I represent my area, or the garden. Meeting/garden, meeting/garden....dammit, don't you just hate conscience?!
    2. Had a hilarious meeting, went on a lot longer than planned but worth every minute. It was pouring with rain when we came out but it had been fun so it didn't matter.
    3. Took a neighbour shopping as her husband, a coach driver, is home so little it's nice for them not to have to do mundane things like shopping when they do have time together
    4. Bought 5 bunches of daffys for 50p each, all in tight bud so I can watch them open and smell Spring :)
    5. Looking forward to a relaxing evening with rainbow trout followed by Emma Brockes and an interval for Casualty

have a good rest of the weekend :)

    Evening all

Thought i'd have a lie in today as no-one to wake me up (OH and DS still away, DD doesn't wake early) and no reason to get up early. So what happened? Awake at 6.30 is what happened

    Any road up, for today

    1. Still had a lazy early part of the morning which was nice - cos I could :p
    2. Nice lunch out with DD and we went shopping for birthday pressies for OH - with little success. DD bought him hairy dieters book as he is trying to lose weight, I bought him a selection of books from a charity shop as an "also ran" pressie. His chiminea arrived yesterday and I will have to shop for some "bits" on Monday.
    3. Nice jambalaya for tea - used up frozen chicken, frozen rice and some prawns
    4. This probably should be 1 - 5 in itself - OH and DS came back :TThey've had a lovely week. DS even gave me a voluntary pat (it's the closest he will go to a hug, these days :rotfl:)
    5. Too much chocolate and wine but what the hell?

    Night all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Oh my goodness. DS got this album today, (early release fan's copy). It's his favourite band. He's a musician himself and has made a lot of noise about them, so to speak. He's just shown me the sleeve notes, where the band member he is friendliest with has given him a mention in a 'shout-out'.
And they spelled his name right. He's like a dog with two tails.

    1. Low spend day

    2. DD and I went to an indoor play place where she ran around like crazy and I read and watched her :)

    3. We managed to sneak in some water and treats, but did also have a mini milk each, nomnom!

    4. Mummykins made amazingly delicious dinner, a fab HFW recipe. Leftovers will be luncheon tomorrow, yay!

    5. We went to look at the outside of a flat near to parentkins, but it wasn't right for us - at least we know without having to go through the whole estate agent malarkey.

    6. Hearing great reports about the huge amount of decorating that's been going on at our home, woohoo! We're looking forward to going back and admiring it as much as possible.

    7. Mummykins was very happy with the daffodils we bought her to say thank you (and they were, of course, rather MS with DD and I being such bargain queens ;) )

Chicken, Hugs I am sorry to hear that, I remember when I found one of our ferrets passed peacefully in his sleep the only comfort was it was peaceful. But all of the critters leave footprints on the heart. X
Sparrer: I love daffodils, we have a load in a hanging basket to be able to see them from the window, they were my mum’s favourite, I always either get or grow them in her memory.

It was a lovely day we very rarely go shopping on the weekend but no other time at the moment so.

    1. After a lovely slow start we went out shopping yikes.:D

    2. I bought a long gypsy skirt, that’s what comes of going to the shops.:p

    3. We are the proud owners of a new TV dad will be ever so pleased and we are of course very happy, DH has already installed it. I put feelers out to a local homeless project to be told they wouldn't want my tv so that leads me to the next pleasuret.

    4. **If anyone on here would like my working 32inch Sony trinatron TV let me know, pm me and I will send more information, would like it to find a home.:)

    5. We stopped in at an American style cafe, I wasn’t expecting anything really but wow, it was lovely we had a banana and peanut butter malt drink wow:D with loaded home made burger and it was delicious, that was at lunch and we didn’t need anything to eat later.:rotfl: so err sort of MSE.

    6. Pleasantly shattered.

Not long now till I am back with Sundays pleasures.:)
