Doc has now told me I have sciatica and phlebitis so I am on antibiotics and more painkillers. :(

    5. Sensible discussion with DS about "paying board".
Earnings £1000 pm after tax does anyone think £200 pm is unreasonable? ETA DS seemed happy with this amount... perhaps I should have said more !!

That amount is more than reasonable, Skinty, it's only £50 a week. and leaves him £800 a month for his travel expenses and everything else. My DS was paying that from £700 after tax 10 years ago. :) (He has about £1300 after tax now and pays £250, plus paying for my mobile).

Edit: Forgot to add, sympathies on the phlebitis - painful and not nice.

Yup, I really could have done without paying just under £300 on the car today :(

Never mind, I just came up to bed and DD woke up as I lumbered past so we had a gorgeous cuddle and a little natter, with the knowledge that there'll be LOTS of the same in the morning :):):)

Goodness Skint When can I move in? I'm not surprised your DS is happy! When my DC started work it was 1/4 if they earned under £500, and 1/3 over that and they never complained. Sorry to hear of your problems, hope they get sorted out soon
villagelife I love soup and sandwiches, it's comfort food, quick and very filling :)
BoP you shouldn't take any notice of anything on facebook, or even be going there! It's equivalent to the tabloids
DD thanks for the reminder of hat, scarf and gloves, I'll need them when I go to Oban next month because it's going to be quite a lot colder than down here :(
CCP sorry to hear your foot is still giving you problems, hope 'they' can get it better soon

    1. As Ladyhawk used to say, man plans and God laughs. Had to dry the nets over the radiators (but only had to put the heating on for an hour) instead of seeing them blowing on the washing line
    2. Washed all the window frames with a small squirt of St@rdrops and some vinegar. It certainly got them white again
    3. Both wheelie bins cleaned this morning. I usually have just the black one done monthly but the green one gets a wash every few months. Well worth it for only £2 a bin
    4. Soppy DS sent me an email with lots of sentimental type pictures of dogs and babies. He's definitely modern man ;)
    5. Made spag bol for dinner, the first time for ages and really enjoyed it. There's enough for tomorrow as well
    Sweet dreams :)
  • Gosh I am thirst.

Just read a letter from the widow of a guy who was lost on HMS Coventry. She remembers his letter explaining the just cause and shows no remorse. The same I saw with a colleague I worked with in the 1990's. He carried on, though did suffer Shell Shock. He was on the same ship. I, well we fill up our kites from miles away.

Sorry if I hark on, but at the start we were boys, at he end, I was twenty no more.

    5 from yesterday.

5 Watched a film, 12 angry men. Long time but very good.

4 Haf an ale, or maybe two

3 Had dog roll with onion.

2 Collected fo BHF. Heartning to hear others stories and put some giggling at ease. Mind you the lass who was split down the front, I cannot compete with her. Good to see the carry on. :heartpuls

    1 Day off now.

    Good afternoon all !

BoP - Sorry -can't help but stare at the Arg*n*ine first lady - she appears to have more plastic in her face than I have in my recycling box!

CCP and Skintos. Ouch you two :(Skintos - £200 seems more than reasonable to me . I got £26pw on the YTS scheme (Young Trained Slave ;))when I left school . Mum had £17 pw for my "keep" then £3.60 went on bus travel to and from YTS work placement out in the sticks. The rest went on field rent, shoes and feed for the ponio.

    5 for today

    1. Day off :)

    2. Dropped several brands so to speak and got some own brand eye make up remover from B**ts on offer for sensitive skin. Usually use Clini*ue - I love it but too pricey so will wait for obligatory birthday vouchers from family next month .

    3. Did a big shop in Mr. T to last us for about two weeks , spent £54 - double points voucher used for B**ts and Mr. T's.

    4. Granary loaf hopely doing its thing in the breadmaker . Got the flour today - we shall wait and see. If ok, will do this instead of buying a loaf in future.

5.OGV filled up with petrol and I had accrued enough fuel points to get the £5 off voucher in Mr.M . Their petrol is the cheapest around her too so would get it there anyway.

Have a good weekend all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
