    1. Very expensive day - car failed its MOT but I'm happy that it is now fixed (the mechanic said that it was dangerous due to suspension and a very dodgy wheel!!!). Thank goodness I was able to get it fixed the same day and that DD and I hadn't had an accident. Sobering thought...

    2. Builder came and finished off the kitchen bits at last!

    3. Pack arrived through the post for me to send off an old mobile phone (it'll pay for half the new tyre I had put on, lol).

    4. Had the world's cheapest haircut at a very dodgy looking place whilst waiting for the car to be fixed, but it's great and I'll probably go back again! :)

    5. Last night OH and I watched a great film - "The Illusionist" on DVD. I can recommend it.

    6. When I've done a few bits around the house, I'll be off to see DD :) I may need to leave it a while though as the M25 will be murder by the time I get on to it....but at least the car will be safe!

CCP, I am sorry about your foot, what a bummer.

Well, the day didn't start as planned, I was at A!di at 8.15 to get a steam mop, but should have been there at 8, all had gone!
Had promised myself one, so got a Shark from Mr T's and used the £5 Helping Hand voucher to bring the price down .
    So..
    1. Natty new gizmo of a steam mop to play with.

    2. Walking stick/four footed folding stool arrived a day after ordering. Glad I got a hefty discount on it, not worth £50 imo, but still very nifty and I am pleased with it.

    3. Getting on with my coursework for the free mental health awareness course, quite a rush as it arrived very late.

    4. DS has removed all paint from the boards on outhouse that got missed out when we got the fascia boards done. Using my hot air gun that disappeared years ago. Yet again, a case of his putting it somewhere that only he knew. Fortunately, this time I hadn't replaced it thinking he'd binned it, as he so often does with anything. The money that habit of his has cost me.... I'd better stop thinking about it, given the amount of his carp lying around the place as revenge would be so sweet....

    5. Pretty little pendant arrived in post to go with matching earrings, now for the weather to wear them.

    6. Best Greek yogurt I have ever tasted was in Her*n for 60p a 500g pot. Not heard of the make before, The Greek Gods, but goodness, it is nice. Mine was honey and clementine.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    3. DH home at reasonable time.

    4. Did some more decluttering

    5. Good day at work today.

Oh CCP - so sorry about your blessed foot. you must be well peed off

That about sums it up! :rotfl:

    1) Woke up in the early hours of this morning in enough pain that I knew I wouldn't be going to work, so I reset my alarm and managed a few more hours of somewhat fitful sleep. When my alarm went off I found that the pain had eased considerably, but by then it was too late to go to work so I decided to stick with the original plan - a day of rest can only make things better.

    2) One of my little willow warblers was back in the garden, at least until I got so involved in watching it that I dropped my kindle and scared it off. :o

    3) Bought the second kindle book in a series which my sister recommended to me, and have spent most of the day reading it; I'm going to go and download the last two in a minute. :)

    4) Despite #3, it was technically an NSD as the books were / will be paid for from some vouchers for doing surveys.

    5) Tuna pesto pasta bake for dinner - one of my favourites.

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Evening all - kind of a wasted day, kind of not. Should have been working but didn't - still have it to do though :(

    1. Woke up feeling refreshed but it wasn't that late. I managed to sleep the night through which is more than i did the previous night
    2. An NSD / NPD :T Don't have many of those
    3. baked up a storm with the 9p bananas. Made 3 banana bread loaves, 16 banana and oat muffins and 16 banana and choc chip muffins. THe banana and choc chip ones were delicious.
    4. had a cheeky bath this afternoon, t'was luvverly
    5. looking forward to salmon for tea when DD gets back from drama.

Off to see dad in Kent tomorrow, so up early.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Kittikins sorry to hear about your car costs

CCP sorry to hear about your foot again, I think my leg has come out in sympathy with you, Doc has now told me I have sciatica and phlebitis so I am on antibiotics and more painkillers. :(

    Pleasures:

    1. sun made an appearance today

    2. its so warm the heating is turned off :j
Good job too as I have just had an email from co-op saying gas and electric are going up

    3. day off work today so I rang doc at 8am and got appointment at 8.40am. Back to work tomorrow. Doc has given me a fit note recommending 4 short days again instead of 3 longer ones ...will see what management have to say to that

    4. popped into charity shops whilst waiting for prescriptions and got 2 picture frames to match those already in living room so DS can hang his cuttings from when he was in the paper

    5. Sensible discussion with DS about "paying board".
Earnings £1000 pm after tax does anyone think £200 pm is unreasonable? ETA DS seemed happy with this amount... perhaps I should have said more !!

Hope everyone has a good evening x
