Well done Master Skint, sounds like you've got a great job there :)

I'm with Billy Bragg on the not 'celebrating' front - I was ashamed of an old friend of mine who has been 'effing and jeffing' all over t'internet about how it's the best news ever that MrsT has popped her clogs.

    1. Had a very nice chap come and measure up for carpet - shame it's way too expensive, especially now! Back to the drawing board but he did give me some good hints and tips on the whole process.

    2. Have booked my car in for a super-cheap MOT on Thursday morning, fingers crossed there won't be any problems!

    3. Went out to look at 2 very nice, if not suitable for us due to steep hill/steps up to front door, flats and have a better idea of what's what.

    4. Second estate agent came and agreed with the first one on the pricing level (well, she told me her price and I agreed it was what the other had said, I wasn't going to give out the info just like that!).

    5. Lovely friend G and I went out to OH and my favourite restaurant, she wasn't quite as enamoured by Vietnamese food as I am, but did enjoy it thank goodness!

    6. Reverbed 5p on the driveway when we got back :)

    7. G and I played junior scrabble when we got back with a bit of help from 2 of her children who came over to join us.

    8. Had some lovely soup left over to feed G's daughter and she loved it (good girl!)

    9. A friend is going to come over at some point with his whizzy electronic tape measure and help me do a floor plan for selling the house as I've found some hopefully simple free software online to help me do it.

    10. Chats with DD :):):) She's not coming home tomorrow now, I'm going up there on Thursday after the MOT is done - yayayayayayayay!!

Attempting to write from phone again. ....

    1. Not a bad sleep.

    2. Cooked breakfast.

    3. Popped out for a scrubbing brush and to the charity shop. Sons got a little skittles game and played with it for hours.

    4. Lots of gardening. Scrubbed slabs clean (er). Put new sweet pea tripod up.

    5. Message from smaller son's friend's mum from his old school. I always worry no one will keep in touch after his unconventional leaving of that school. ... anyway, smaller son is off out with his old friend tomorrow. He is often quite formal and said - that is an unexpected happiness. :-) then he got so overexcited he's come up in hives!

    Well done skint minor :T
mcculloch mauve tulips sound really pretty :)
chicken whatever was your Mum doing carrying a very large tree in her mouth?

I was taught it's impolite to discuss finance, politics and religion so won't add my two pen'orth but keep my very conservative opinions between myself and my God :p

    1. Met a friend for coffee and resisted the cakes on display
    2. Ordered some clotted cream from Devon for a friends birthday and didn't buy any for myself. That was sooo hard
    3. Even harder, I resisted the rtc fresh fruit scones in Mr M, 99p down to 20p for two, how good was I?!
    4. Tree surgeons pruned some straggly trees in the orchard at the end of my garden, still gives privacy but it's much lighter now
    5. DNeighbour came in and gave Ying her insulin for the first time, was perfectly fine and will have a few more practices before I go away.

    Sweet dreams :)

    Evening all.

I'm feeling thoroughly sorry for myself at the moment: it's cold and very wet outside, and my foot's as bad and painful as I've ever known it. :(

    Right, let's think:

    1) Talked myself out of throwing away the LO pasta I'd taken to work for lunch, and quite enjoyed it in the end.

    2) Got everything ready for an event I'm running at work on Friday, so it won't be a disaster if I'm in too much pain to go into the office tomorrow.

    3) Heard on the radio that it's supposed to start getting properly spring-like over the weekend. :j

    4) As the oven is on for a cook-on-tray dinner, I put in the chicken I defrosted to make a curry with; it will now be sandwiches tomorrow and the rest can be frozen for another time once it's cooked.

    5) Some OTC medication has taken the edge of the pain in my foot; it still hurts, but nowhere near as much as it has done all day. (Unfortunately it tends to make me dozy so I can't take it while I'm at work, more's the pity. :()

That's not bad, but I hope everyone else has had a better day than mine.
Back after a very long break!
