Evening all.
PK - fingers crossed for your poor ferret. There's absolutely nothing to be ashamed of for crying over him: we wouldn't be good pet owners if we didn't care what happens to them.
OT - just BTW, any spare lemon curd can safely be sent in my direction. Ta very much!
mhagster - has it really been a year? I can't say how glad I am that things have worked out as they have, and I know we all hope and wish for them to get better still.
sparrer - that's great news about Ying - long may she continue to improve.
DD and Kittikins and anyone else who's under the weather - get well now!
I had a very pleasant evening last night despite my doziness, and managed my usual dog magnet trick on a black retriever: her owner eventually had to physically drag her away as she wouldn't let me stop cuddling her for long enough for me to get to the bar! :rotfl:
1) An apparently sincere apology from the lady at the letting agent about the confusion over the gas safety check: she's promised that the person responsible will get a severe bol...... telling off!
2) More HM bread and SO smoked salmon for brunch.
3) NPD and LSD - just 60p spent on some dressings for my foot.
4) Found a very promising looking car - a VW Polo, which is exactly what I was looking for - and, as it's from the same place I went last time, they've promised me a very generous part-exchange value for my current car. I'm off to do a test drive tomorrow afternoon - it's all very exciting! :j
5) Making a chorizo and pepper pizza for dinner - I might do a stuffed crust one as I've got a big block of RTC mozzarella to use.
Have a very pleasant, snow-free evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
Just going out to meet a friend who needs some support but couldn't read and run, needed to say thank you CCP, and I hope the car is a good 'un
Also hugs to((( PK ))) and your ferret, as CCP said we wouldn't have animals if we weren't of a certain type of caring nature. Everything x'd for you
mhags so pleased to hear you've all made the year, wishing you many more together
Have a good evening, back later
x0 -
Hallo peeps!
Fingers crossed for our ferrety friend. I am not an animal person but would never wish one harm or those that care for them to be unhappy. I can always see the comedy value in an animal, also. you know - dogs in cars, llamas pretending you can't see them, chickens doing anything.. <<sigh>> I'd love a Llama.
CCP - I have a similar effect on small children. My kids call me the Pied Piper :rotfl:
Mhags - can only echo what others have said. Can't believe how far you've come - will always remember seeing your post about OH's diagnosis and how you came back and said we had to keep posting our pleasures. Hope he has more good days than bad.
PK - glad you are a little better, hope it continues
Hugs to everyone else!
1. Kids had a good lie in - both need it. Didn't see either till gone midday. I had gone out for 2 hours and came back without either knowing - waste of a note
2. Took a pile of stuff to our local hospice shop and returned empty handed :T
3. Stupidly excited to have a new rotary washing line (how OS is that?) and have ordered my new cover for it from these people
http://www.rotaire.com/
I reckon the last one saved me a fortune in tumble drier costs and I will do a couple of improvements to extend the life of this one.
4. Pasta and prawns for tea with a glass of white wine, yum yum. Diet is blown for the week, but i don't care
5. House is clean (ish) again and more money into the big holiday fund. We probably have enough for one flight now.:T
Off to wales tomorrow for a few days with DS. DD is staying here and OH is coming on Sunday as he is chauffering DD tomorrow night. I am back on Tues but will post from my phone. Am looking forward to Honey Ice Cream. Frith, are you jealous? And am planning a visit to CAT (centre for Alternative technology) on Monday.
Have a good evening all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Been sneezing all day and, despite the barmy balmies my noseis red as rudolph's (and not a drop of alcohol) but still managed some smiles
1) walked into town with sis and family and dd2 for shoe shopping (so glad mine are past that age) and both children successfully shod
2) tea and cake to celebrate -bil's treat
3) bought new watch at argos and have worked out how to change day without referring to instructions
4) steak pie, veg and christmas crackers (i had veggie stew) followed by xmas pud an custard (xmas pud veggie phew)
5) only 30 mins till i can take next lemsip.

VJsmum - we're not going to tywyn/aberd this holiday but to Bristol instead.
Here are my pleasures for today typed on phone.
1. Not a bad sleep.

VJsmum I have a friend who has a herd of llamas, have been invited to visit them many times but they live in Alberta, so won't be going this week
1. Nsd/npd, got a lift from a friend to a meeting with another friend this evening, and coffee and bickies were free
2. Sunshine :j. Bloomin' cold but it was there for most of the day
3. I really noticed how Ying is filling out for the first time today. I would normally have difficulty telling her and Yang apart at a glance but she was like a skeleton a couple of weeks ago. Now she seems to be getting some flesh on her again
4. Had a very productive meeting with a friend who's suffering from depression, just for this evening she didn't take a drink or drugs and said she felt okay when we parted. She's sent four texts since to say she's still clean, can only wish the best for her and be there to support/pick up the pieces as necessary.
5. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz night night0 -
