1. Indeed I remember the IC display in Cambridge. Apparently I may one day be famous, well, my feet may be, as DGD2 is designing shoes and says I can be her model as my feet are small and so well looked after
2. Snow – it's becoming the norm to have snow as late as April but am assured by an old farmer friend it's going to warm up now. It's going to rain, but it'll be warm rain!
3. Nsd/npd
4. Postie brought me three more moisturisers
5. Made a banana loaf and was just taking it out of the oven when a friend turned up. It was still very hot but we managed
6. Had a phone call from another friend who has invited me to tea on Saturday in her new home. I have another brownish banana so will make another loaf to take with me
7. Took Ying to the vet – her blood sugar level has dropped from 16.5 to 12, needs to get to 6 but he was very pleased with my two weeks work. She's also put on weight, was 2 1/2kg and is now 3!

Hello
It has been a day full of appreciating the pleasures around me today. It is one year since OH was diagnosed with cancer and whilst having a poorly past few days he is still very much with us. This time last year our lives were suddenly filled with fear and uncertainty. With pain and hurt. With worry and feeling so far away from our home.
As I said last week we have been through so much in this last year and I suppose we have came out the other side a bit beleaguered but probably stronger!!
Anyway feeling a tad emotional at times through the day I looked around me...I was out and about on campus ( nice man this morning, issuing a parking pass with no problem...even a smile!) and saw the beautiful sky, the river, my lovely birds, huge dragonflies and felt grateful for being here, in this beautiful place now.
So whilst no particular money saving or old style pleasures to report just a gratitude for friendship and kindness and health.
Have a lovely day....oh nearly forgot hurrah for Friday0 -

Sorry bit of a long post:o
For yesterday Thurs:
I tried to get a doc appt for anti sickness stuff but they are booked solid, then remembered I had something from the pneumonia they worked a treat, after they kicked in had some soup and painkillers and feeling okish. Trying not to stress over losing work money but just couldn’t work with the very un sociable sickness.
1.Didn’t wake up till midday so definitely no work.:o
2.Added the car to the other cars breakdown for £10 better than a whole new breakdown policy.:T
3.DH and I have offered to help out someone close to us, as we can at the moment, they are on pension I am making it very clear we do not expect the money back, we are doing it because we can and it will make a difference to them.:)
4.Reading on the kindle a little but my eyes hurt a bit today.
For Today.
Best made plans! Today I planned to get up and work from home, but it went by due to numerous things - I did get up at about 8am, made a tea and toast then found the web was down and problems with the land phone line so no connecting from home as I looked out of the window at a man fixing the phone line. Then I checked on the animals to find one of our ferrets very unwell, he’d gone a hot water bottle shape literally overnight, so phoned the vet who squeezed us in, but is an hour’s drive from here, so of we drive. It is serious and I am told to leave him there while they run tests, for the morning.
So I did the find the local centre and charity shops, we don’t need things it will be fine.... ops, turned out we needed a few bargains :rotfl:£1 deodorant, big tins of Heinz soup for £1, then I pondered into a YMCA CS, and fell in love with a walnut box with hidey holes, which needed a home and a chocolate name mug! Then...We have been thinking about replacing our printer for 6 years yup I kid you not we are not risk takers, after it printed nothing but fuzz and keeled over yesterday we pondered into a Maplins DH said how about this one it’s a little canon pixma home office it is top loading and front loading with scanner and photo stuff as well as wi fi it ticks all the boxes, great says me, so we ponder to pc world next door still not happy with buying from them, so instead we found Argos 2 doors down, it came in also on offer at 20% off £79, they had a deal of buy all the inks with it and get 10% off all, then I remembered we both have nectar cards, which gave us another £25 off, then the sales assistant gave us a £10 voucher for spending over £100 as our purchase was £101. Talk about a deal that really worked out for us.
2. Got the phone call that had been on my mind obviously from the vets, clinically he is very ill, they let him eat then did spot blood tests and it was 0.2 very dangerously low after food, they have released him into my care for the weekend as we will obviously keep a close eye, and given us steroids to try him on, if he ralleys and responds to the steroids it is definitely insulinoma which will mean steroids, which is fine, the worry is as he got ill so quickly they aren’t sure it will be, it is possible he may not respond if so he will have to be rushed into surgery that doesn’t sound promising. I have everything crossed.
3. Stopped at a little cafe for a tea and snack, read the local Friday ad and found an auction near us that we will ponder to this month, and also discovered I have enough pyrex stickies for a couple of little bowls good for storing things in the van, but really must rationalise some of the un-used stuff in the kitchen first.:o
4. Got back in at 2pm, enjoyed watching the birds on the bug log feeder and suet balls and sunflower seeds.:)
5. On a mission to clear some space out in the freezer meal planning as it’s just to full, we found something we wanted to buy but couldn’t as we are stocked up, not a bad position to be in, just need to plan and use it up, so frozen but cooked meal for us tonight.:D
6. Can’t believe the day has just pretty much gone, just finished animal washing loads and tidying up to done, a cheat dinner is cooking through and our little chap is cosy in fleece bedding dosed up, his next tablet is tonight, I have everything crossed for him, he’s a very strong character I have to admit I shed a few tears and looked like a looney driving along at the thought of him not making it.0
