Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Mine for today:

    1) NSD and NPD.

    2) Gave the fridge a long overdue clean out.

    3) Received my box full of bargain smoked goodies: most of it has gone into the freezer but I'm really looking forward to the smoked salmon for breakfast tomorrow.

    4) Got an online valuation of my current car and it looks like it's worth much more than I thought, so I should get a decent deal when I go car shopping tomorrow. :j

    5) Easy dinner tonight: I've got curry, rice and onion bhajis, all ready prepared and just need heating up.
Back after a very long break!
  • Oooo tricky one today as I'm so fed up with this cold weather. Last Easter was simply gorgeous....

    Ok
    1) Weather so cold that it offers the opportunity to watch TV tonight in front of the log burner wrapped up in snuggly blankets (see what I did there!!!)

    2) DD1 getting down to some serious revision (GCSE's coming up:eek:) without being asked!

    3) Bitterly cold strong winds - managed to get all dog bedding washed and dried on the line (hah - turned it around again - you won't beat me, bliddy weather!)

    4) More Masterchef tonight

    5) Loved the sewing programme last night and have been inspired to dig the sewing machine out from the depths of the craft cupboard (yeah, me and how many thousand others?:rotfl:)

    Bring it on.......

    Evening

    PK - Get well NOW

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Even though really cold today managed to get more washing line dried. All folded and put away apart from a top and a pair of trousers that will need ironing. Another load of washing in the machine which will go out tomorrow morning. Can just about see the bottom of the washing basket now but then again DD is tidying her room so may suddenly fill up again:cool:
    2. DD prepping the veg for dinner so just needed to throw everything in the pan when got home. Meatballs and pasta for OH and me, DD had meatballs and gnochi. Enough left for me to have for lunch tomorrow. Had a piece of bakewell tart as well :D
    3. Paid some change into DD's bank account for her. Only a couple of pound but rather she had it than wasted.:money:
    4. Some E45 lotion to trial plus lots of samples that I gave to friends at work.
    5. Watching the hairy bikers and getting a meal idea that will try on next weeks meal plan.

hugs to all who need them

    4. wrapped up in my thermals and attacked the paving slabs in the front forecourt with a bucket of bleach and long handled stiff brush... cant afford a pressure washer but managed 20 minutes of one-armed elbow grease. I did have 2 planters by the front door but mum kindly moved them into the back garden last week for me as I was fed up with one of the neighbourhood cats spraying up against them. The front looks and smells better now

    Evening all

So after the washing line blowing down, the toaster blowing up and the dreaded carpet moth, we now have a leak coming through the ceiling. It seems to have stopped now but we think we may have to rip it half to shreds to find the pipe. I wanted the bathroom done, but not like this.

Oh PK, hope you get better real soon (first off, I wrote Kittikins - I still think of you as one :o)
    Welcome back OT
Chicken - hope you get some rest. That hour bu88ers up everyone for a while
Seems we are all getting DDs to do stuff - mine emptied dishwasher and is probably going to do the ironing. Though the latter is for money
    Oh and TLA's are a PITA :p

    For today

    1. MIL is a lot better and should be going home tomorrow, so a drive to the lovely Milton Keynes for me
    2. Nice lazy hour this morning in bed before work
    3. Ate half my easter egg when I got home
    4. Nice cracked black pepper sausages from the butchers for tea with cauliflower cheese
    5. My sister asking me for advice and then saying nice things about me when I gave it her.

Off to bed soon - night all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hello from a lovely autumnal Melbourne afternoon.

Bit of a crazy start to my day involving a jobsworthy security guard ,parking where I don't normally and an off campus event I had to attend! And breathe.....until I have to do the same again tomorrow! No offence pirate pete but 'Grrrr men!!'

It improved and I left work bang on time! Traffic quiet as its school holidays.

Finding a packet of unopened chocolate biscuits....unusual so late in the week!

Receiving a parcel of Percy Pig sweets from the UK.

Receiving a card and letter from old next door neighbour and a letter from my letter writing friend.

My daffodils are in bloom and make me happy each time I see them. They are sitting on my porch table.

Enjoyed a quick chat with friend to say thank you for parcel. An extra chat squeezed in through the week! ( normally have marathon chat session on a Saturday!)

A beautiful day, sunny but with a cool breeze, Aussies are wrapping up like its -2o....I'm in my element! Not a sweaty Betty in sight!!

    Enjoy your day.

    A few added pleasures:
Bit of gardening done as its garden bin tomorrow , I do enjoy pruning, there is something satisfying chop, chop , chopping off branches.

Pumpkin, sweet potato , carrot and bacon soup for tea. Made listening to radio 2 on the Internet!

Trimmed my birthday flowers should last a few more days .

Don't know who got the bigger fright... Me or the possum ! Almost face to face when I walked to pick DD1 from work.

DS got full marks for his first uni assignment... Nice to know my money is being put to good use!

Had a lovely 2 hours to myself whilst everyone else was out and about!
  • Oh MhGs. Dig that attitude. When confronted with Jobsworth, think of BoP. Grrrrr in there. Seems to work for PK, as she is on the luscious wobbleade of Ginger Beer. Hopefully with floaters. Rite that as mixed it up for yous, so happy days.

No pleasures as away from Lady Whack
