evening all
Yesterday's pleasures
1. Poor MIL is here but unwell. The only pleasure is the service she got from ourn local out of hours doctors who treated her like a queen. She is still remarking on it today
2. Walk in the woods with OH
3. visit from SIL and her 2 kids. They were reasonably well behaved but their table manners leave something to be desired (including the SIL)
5. Kids egg hunt went ok, but the ones they found hardest to find were those that were openly displayed on shelves.
And Todays'
1. Got the SIL with an April fool - told her she'd slept through an earth tremor
2. Nice bacon and egg for brekkie
3. MIL a little better - but she isn't a very good patient.
4. Walked with DD to the little SM for some bits we'd run out of and then came back and watched Mean Girls
5. Cooked up the cockerel and made stock, now made into a mahoosive pan of chicken and vegetable soup / stew for tomorrow's tea.
Night all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Hot cross buns for breakfast
2. Between DD and myself we have done a mass of ironing, cleaned the bathroom, hovered the hall, stairs and landing and got lots of washing done and dried on the line
3. OH cooked cheese on toast for lunch
4. Lots of yummy chocolate but have resisted eating any yet....
5. The sun shining makes everything feel so much better
Hugs to all who need them0 -

bop hope tests were ok and you're not enthroned too long
ampers hope you're well. Havent listened to tonight's dose of real life cos...
1) found out sister and family coming to stay tuesday till sunday. The declutter defo paid off - beds made, bathroom sparkling, house tidy
2) walked different way to work. Bit late due to lack of desire to get up lol but not too bad and glad i didnt succumb to the bus. £1.45 saved and good exercise :j
3) remembered to take a sarnie. Jalapeno humous nom nom. Cafe shut cos bank holiday so glad i remembered (and more pennies saved)
4) nhs cleaners dont do our office on bank holidays. Since they usually lock up at 7:30 but today it had to be done by the receptionist who finishes at 5 and i dont yet have an office key i had to leave at 5 :T
5) ate half an easter egg when i got home.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Well, no sons here....
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Went through ALL PAPERWORK. Boxes of it under the bed. (It actually holds my bed up after sons had a martial arts tournament on it and broke the bar running down the middle beneath the slats).
Threw lots out. Put it all back in the right folders. I was going through all the mothers day and Easter cards sons had made at school over the years. Then I found a beautifully drawn card with lots of kisses that read "To Mum Thank you so much for buying us chips" ! :-D
3) In the boxes I found the Microsoft Office code thingy (laptop deleted all of MS Office a few weeks back) so I spent some time this afternoon installing everything again. Looks like it worked.
4) Went swimming with my brother. He had made us a new tripod thing for the garden and sweet peas.
5) Carried on tidying up and did a good job of the bathroom.
6) Phoned sons this evening and they're OK.
7) Had an Indian takeaway with my sister and brother in law.
8) Just listening to the ipod before bath, 2 hwb, bed and Just a Minute (sorry, Ampersand).0 -
(((hugs)))CCP, he'll be at Rainbow Bridge
VJsmum hope your MiL is feeling better now
PK congrats on the new car, sounds like you made some good friends at the same time so a double bonus
mhags you have endless energy, what are you on?!
mcculloch I'm so pleased to hear your DS is off the juice, and pleased for you that you're not having to walk on eggshells now. Will keep everything x'd it lasts, for both of you
chicken what did you think of The Village? I found it all rather depressing but might try again next week, it can't get worse!
1. started a new OS weight loss challenge, looking forward to seeing a sylph-like me in a few weeks
2. Made a very tasty warm beetroot salad to go with my dinner, the best yet
3. Lunch out yesterday with the friend I went to Barcelona with, we're planning a few days away later in the year so looking for somewhere just as interesting (for sightseeing) and inexpensive. But there's so much choice!
4. I didn't get caught by any April Fool's, unless you count the tease of fine weather we had this morning
5. Took a stroll around the estate, all 20x24 of it, the herbs are bouncing back, the daffy's have multiplied well since last year, roses are sprouting, The Bride looks as if it could be its best year yet, the honeysuckle is lovely and green and the Russian vine is, well, rushin' already. It's in a pot so well contained (pun intended)
All is well, sweet dreams0 -

hello, almost bedtime for a back to work tomorrow person
I've had such a lovely 5 days off work but only 3 to go then it's the weekend again!
dundeedoll I do indeed have a ribbon drawer! And a fabric stash drawer and a craft 'stuff' drawer. We live in a big, rambling old fashioned house (which I love) and it is full of cupboards and drawers! I have a baking cupboard, which has a shelf for recipe books, a shelf for napkins, paper plates and cups ( I'm slightly addicted!) and a shelf for paper cake cases, cup cake wraps, cake boxes . all very pretty!
Then there is the shelf for mixing bowls, the shelf for pretty tins, cupcake display holders and cake tiers!
There's a Christmas crockery cupboard! and a huge pantry cupboard which I keep glass wear and crockery in.....this was put back in order today!
My tea towel drawer is tidy again! My slight ocd is salved!
Today I phoned a friend, went to opticians , first with girls then I went mysel this afaternoon. Lovely gentlemanly optician. Said I had the lenses of a teenager....made my year!! Apparently by my age most Australians have had sun damage to the lenses....years of sun defiency in UK have been to my occular benefit!
I got a lovely cake reduced as I went into bakers at closing time!
Got rtc chicken and made sweet and sour chicken for tea.
watched 2 pretty little birds on a bottle brush bush outside a window this afternoon. Not sure what they were and have never seen them before, just slightly smaller than a sparrow.
Continued with my sad and lonely Holby watching! That's what I'm on sparrer, self-bribery! Do something and watch another part of an episode!
It's poured with rain for most of the day so got slightly wet going to and from car! However, it is good for the garden!
Have a lovely day. Bedtime for me
eta ampersand I hope all is well with you , hope you're keeping up to date with all our pleasures whilst managing a few of your own x0 -
Oh, Mhags a clean house and lenses of a teenager. I have milk bottle bottoms.
Just eaten, reat little feast. All gone, so no longer starving.
Oh, and the Harris inspection. All looks good, couple of kiwi fruit seeds stuck in there form last week. Apart from that. Ok, so should be grumping like a trooper later. Seem to be a vast windy.
Pleasures so far,
1 Giant yellow thing is out
2 Gether with Ms Slack
3 For the rest of the day
4 Food, yummy, bo longer starving
5 At my age, mom was riddled.

Apropos of absolutely nothing, my daughter's lovely Springer, Beth. Who has brought me many, many hours of OS pleasure with her company.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0
