    Evening all.

Today started brightly but has now taken a turn for the miserable - mog has come down with another illness, brought on by stress (it's something he's had before, so I recognised the symptoms) and has had to go back to the vet for more surgery. If all goes well I might get him back on Saturday, but if all doesn't go well...

In an odd sort of way it's a relief that matters are now out of my hands - whatever happens happens, even if it's bad news. I hope that doesn't make me sound like a very uncaring pet owner! :o

Despite this evening's news, the day has had some good points:

    1) A lovely sunny day, and warm enough that I could walk around with my coat undone for a while.

    2) I felt hungry at lunchtime for the first time in ages, and really enjoyed the chicken mayo sarnie I bought.

    3) Silly conversation with a colleague at work.

    4) Nice vet has put off his going home time to operate on mog tonight, and has promised to check on him as much as possible during his day off tomorrow. He's also said my sister and I can see mog on Saturday morning if he's not ready to come home, which isn't something they usually allow - he's a star this vet, and I'd recommend him to anyone. :A

    5) I couldn't be bothered to cook tonight, so I've got a 'ping' lasagne - it's something I do once a year at most, but surely justified just this once. ;)

Kittikins - best of luck with your application - fingers are crossed for you.

Chicken - I'm glad the terrier seems to be improving - long may she continue to be a pest. ;)

sparrer - I'm so sorry to hear about Oscar. :(

mms - I think I forgot to say yesterday - many congratulations on your new house - how exciting! :j
Back after a very long break!

Just listening to the 17000th edition of real life. Disappointed in you David and aw naw Ruth.
    1) despite late night on the wobbleade managed to get up in time to walk to work. A good way to start the day
    2) i got a new puter at work :-) it's whizzy whizzy, though sadly doesnt do my marking in my absence
    3) best mate came to admire my new office then we went for lunch. Day 8 of being veggie meant egg sarnie. Can you believe i dreamt of eating bacon and sausage last night and woke up feeling guilty!
    4) got paid a day early due to bank holiday (not that we get bank holidays hiss boo)
    5) tempted to get a chinese on way home but OH made lish veggie chilli
Hugs to all, have a good Good Friday

Hurrah for Friday ! Hurrah for long weekends! Hurrah for birthdays!
I am 44 today and no-one else is awake!! I have opened my cards that I have and I'm just waiting for my family to wake up!!

Yesterday at work I was given beautiful flowers from my colleague ( birds of paradise) and another beautiful bunch of lilies from a customer, a box of chocs from a customer and then some lovely posh hand cream and more chocs from another customer and lots of good wishes ! So all in all a pleasant end to the working week.

I got up earlier than usual and made cupcakes with a chocolate ganache topping. Took them into work and we had them at lunch with some fizzy apple juice! Which was all very nice!

Almost got out on time but one of the new girls had borrowed my security pass and lost it! So I had to go and look for it, she also went to look again but it seems to be well and truly gone! Not very happy as it had my travel pass ( loaded with money and attached to top up automatically from OHs credit card) and I had tucked a $20 note in it in the morning as colleague wouldn't take the money I gave him to get the apple juice.
The pleasure , My Manager gave me his pass and his travel pass as I will need it I get into city today.

Came home and tidied bathrooms, DD did hoovering and DS did a washing and tidied kitchen so we look a bit more presentable. No house work today!

Friend from Sydney phoned so had a good natter with her for an hour.

So a pleasant Thursday and a Friday to look forward to! We are going to see Sarah Millikin tonight as part of comedy festival so we are looking forward to that. Weather to be a bit cooler but that's fine!

I'm looking forward to a long weekend of home-making and gardening with a bit of slobbing around thrown in!

    Enjoy your weekend!

Happy birthday, MHags, beautifully timed for the Easter weekend. :-)

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Smaller son's last (half) day at school.

    3) MrN's son5 came round to see bigger son. They spent quite a lot of time making stop motion films and bigger son made some fake leg props.

    4) I sorted mum and dad out with a quote for cheaper phone/broadband.

    5) Booked train tickets so we will spend a day in Bristol during the holidays. Looks like we'll be looking round SS Great Britain and @Bristol, both free with Blue Peter badges, hoorah!

    6) Smaller son returned after lunch and we played Monopoly with MrN's son3 for most of the afternoon.

    7) Went swimming with sons and my brother.

    8) Had fish, chips and mushy peas for tea whilst watching Manlab.
  • Thank you for all the congratulations, so excited, things can't move fast enough!

Hugs to everyone who needs them.

    My five for today;
    1. Invented a recipe, well it was more a case of reading existing recipes and combining them together. Made a lovely banana Nutella loaf/cake thing.

    2. Made a batch of peanut butter and banana cookies, can you tell I had some bananas to use up!

    3. Looking forward to the Easter weekend. We are dog sitting at the MILs and it always feels like a proper holiday when were down there. A bargain refresher.

    4. Free body wash sample and magazine in the post.

    5. Is it too late for a cooking session? Feel wide awake so might make some soup- will blend it in the morning though, don't want to wake the neighbours!

I haven't been on here in ages.:AI've been a bit down with this awful weather so I should try and think of 5 nice things in my day.

    1. I rearranged some furniture to make the computer room more comfortable. We both spend so much time in here.:o

    2. Nice meal of roasted vegetables and a beanburger for dinner with a few glasses of wine.;)

    3. I have arranged to have a (rare) night out next week.:)

    4. I am about to look for a new dress online for the night out.

    5. Urm... I bought a new toothbrush as I dropped mine on the floor last night.:D

Happy Birthday Mhagster... May your birthday have many good things in it and plenty of smiles... Also hugs to Mr Mhags. I hope he is well enough to enjoy everything with you.

I am sorry you have been landed with such a careless colleague (the one who lost your pass).
I used to lend a friend my weekly bus ticket on a weekend, I'd usually renew it mid week. Bit of a mistake, that.
She lost it twice, but then thankfully I got a bus pass with photo ID.
She was mildly miffed that I wouldn't lend it to her but as she looks nothing like me and the penalty for misuse is disqualification from the scheme, I was able to robustly repel requests.
The saying comes to mind... " A good turn never goes unpunished".
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    2. The snow has very nearly gone. Shhhh!
    3. Had a Hot X bun for breakfast as I've run out of porridge (there's F&F in the cupboard so not the best excuse :o)
