Train home and the biggest harvest moon lighting the way.
Beans on toast for supper! Perfect!
Being cool enough to wear boots and a jacket and a scarf! And being glad I had them when we came out of theatre and then on walk home!
Night from a tired birthday girl! Enjoy your Good Friday x
And now bed
As an eta , the shops and supermarkets were all closed today!!0 -

Since I got the tyres properly pumped up, my trike has brought me so much pleasure. I took this pic for a tricyclist's forum but thought I'd let you see him too. It's definitely a him. He normally has an old green Safeway grocery delivery box on the luggage holder but I took it off so that the trikists could see the gears etc. Apparently that sort of thing goes down well with them.
:easter_os:EasterBunErma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Haven't done this for a while as it's difficult on my phone but thought I would post in context that
1 have ordered a Samsung Google Chrome today so things should be easier
2 picked up my bargain marks and spencer bath foam today so my back feels better
3 going to a wedding tomorrow and almost bought lots of per una stuff but put it back and will wear stuff I already have
4 just having a nice glass of red wine poured by my husband
5 he is going out to get some fish and chips so a night off from cooking0 -

Hugs to moggie ccp
A good day at the uni but i am totally zonked.
1) walked down to main campus with oh, always a pleasure
2) worked in library then had meeting with director of pgla which i thought sounded very grand. Apparently it's policy, governance and legal affairs. He was very nice and very knowledgable and we had a very good chat at the end of which he said cant believe our paths have never crossed. Not sure if that's good or bad
3) then lunch with mum. Lovely chat cept irealised i'd left my watch in the library :-(
4) no joy with watch but did get more work done then oh sent message to say she was in the library cafe. So i went tojoin her
5) then newly outfitted pub with mates and made new mates including one who is as punny as i am. Home for veggie chilli and bed. Perfect end to the day. Just about to listen to part 5 of the agatha christie. Hooray for iplayerMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Tired so here are my 5 or so quickly...
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) First day of the school holidays!
3) Snow is thawing. Now down to about 15cm.
4) Went swimming with sons and my brother.
5) Popped to Sainsburys.
6) Went to see my friends from Sixth Form College who moved away some years ago but come back this way to see their parents. We went to a pub with a soft play area and all the children played for 3 hours without a hitch - despite only meeting about 2 or 3 times a year. :-)
7) Made a big tea - chicken curry with peppers and lychees then we had bought some profiteroles from Sainsburys. Bigger son decided they should have some sort of warm sauce over them so I just melted a chocolate bar for that. After all that lot, we just lay on my bed too full to do anything and planned the Easter holidays.0 -
villagelife what is it they say, possession is nine tenths of the law?

mcculloch Wow, how cool is that trike!
whitsatin enjoy the wedding and congrats on your No3, you'll look super whatever you wear
DD must be the day for watches, hope yours turns up
Frith the chocolate covered profiteroles sound mouthwatering, they're one of my favourite puds
ampersand? Hope you're feeling better
1. Had a phone call from the vicar, I left my watch on Wednesday after washing up and he tracked it to me. Gave his wife a bunch of daffys when I collected it, she was really pleased
2. Took some daffys for Dneighbour and an egg for her DD. Stopped for a cuppa and put the world to rights
3. Made an iced banana loaf to take to DD tomorrow with the DGC's eggs etc. Didn't even lick the bowl, aren't I good? :A Ha ha
4. Sent some flowers to my friend in Yorks who has moved out of the marital home and into her own little cottage today. Not at all OS but she deserves it.
5. Booked and paid for the coach to Oban in May. My friend there is as excited as I am, nothing's going to stop me this time!
Sweet dreams0 -
Happy Birthday mhagster x
Hope your watch turns up DD!
Well done on the gift card find villagelife, hope you buy something fun!
Yesterday's brilliant goodies.....
1. Had a great time at church, chatted to lots of friends and told people my exciting update re: primary school
2. A group of lovely people came over and we attacked the house again - DD's room now has a coat of paint on it which she loves and helped with; other places are well on the way to being ready for painting and it was so heartening to see people giving up their bank holiday.
3. I made delicious soup for lunch, which was turned into Qu*rn sausage casserole for dinner
4. G's youngest son made us apple crumble for pud! with custard!! We had a feast
5. The sun shone0 -
Morning all
Up early cos I was asleep by 9.30:D
Missed a day or two
Cool trike, McC - I don't know why more people don't ride them
Chicken - glad little doggie is on the mend
Fingers crossed for Mog, CCP
Bad luck on the watch, Dundee. I have just woken from a dream where I lost my watch, I closed computer while I was reading this thread, so I wonder if I had read your post without realising? Anyway try a locker in the swimming baths at a theme park - that's where mine wasAnd if you see my old friend from school who was on duty say hi from me :rotfl:
Thursday's
1. Did a bit of work from home, but not much. Caught up on a backlog of emails - will do more as the weekend goes on,
2. Managed to almost finish cleaning the house. The almost was because I moved an old laptop bag loitering on the floor of the spare room to vacuum under it and discovered lots of grains of rice over the carpet. Only they weren't grains of rice - they were carpet moth larvae  THey b&$t&rd$ have eaten down to bare carpet in one fairly large patch. The only pleasures are the 1) I knew what they were so didn't pick up and squeeze one as my friend has had them and i did that there - bleurgh 2) I had the best excuse to throw away stuff cluttering up the spare room as it is covered in the bleeders 3) OH had to finish the hoovering as I had to go out to see
3. DD yet again in her school production. It's the third time I've seen it, I'll know the script soon. It was the last one and, goodness, they were brilliant. They really took it up a notch. I have seen the show 3 times, I haven't seen anyone fluff a line or sing a really duff note. We sent her to that school for their drama reputation and it isn't misplaced.
4. There was going to be a show after party but it didn't happen. The pleasure is that no-one had to get up and silly o'clock to fetch DD from somewhere. I'm sorry for her but there will be other parties, I'm sure
5. They give out silly awards on the last show day - as chosen by year 13's. DD got "Hidden talent" for her singing (she had a minor principle role in production and no solos). One of the drama teachers saw the award and said "don't think we haven't noticed!" so fingers crossed for a bigger role next year. The pleasure for DD was that it was presented to her by the would have been boyfriend and she got a hug!
6. Ooh just remembered, I had a blue egg for breakfast - given in a box of eggs to OH from someone at work who grows them
For yesterday
1. Went out on Severn Valley Railway. Not much of a pleasure in itself as I have been a zillion times but it made a change and was something of a catalyst for a day of interesting people. Little boy Harry on the train who was something of a child genius, if a little precocious but was a source of amusement. And an old chap in the pub (more later regarding pub) who owned racehorses, had left home at 10 to become a jockey, had ridden for the Queen and gave my DS some words of inspiration he would never have taken from us :T
2. OH and I got off the train to go for a walk, leaving DS and MIL on it. We walked for around an hour and it was most pleasant, if bitterly cold.
3. Pub for lunch. Old inn by the river, faggots and peas (or faggits and pays as they say round those parts), and a pint of shandy - I know how to live
4. Did the whole lot by train (i.e. went by train from home and back again) and, despite 5 changes, there were no hold ups.
5. Did the shopping as soon as I got back, otherwise would have to be up doing it now as I think it will be mayhem in the SM - good to get it out of the way, and OH helped.
6. Simple tea of bread, cheese and jam - the best kind.
Have a lovely day all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0
