Apologies but am joining the 'down' posters tonight. My little girl mog has barely been eating lately, getting thinner and thinner, she's now half her usual weight and every bone protruding. Vet has done a battery of tests but nothing found yet so tomorrow she goes back for more.
My lovely friend whose wife left her a few weeks ago is in need of text company every day, I don't mind at all and have told her to let me know if I can go up to West Yorks and help with packing for her move. She's desparately unhappy about having to sell her house on the moors but I've tried to tell her she'll feel more secure in a more built-up area with other people around. I understand though, it's a beautiful old house in a stunning location
One of the ladies I mentor has just been diagnosed with a chronic illness so in need of a lot of support just now. Spent the evening with her and she's being very strong (outwardly)
On the bright side
1. we had what can't be called a hail storm by any stretch of the imagination, more an excuse. Hail 'stones' the size of seed pearls, and still the sun shone!
2. Re BP, the nurse who took it a couple of weeks ago did so three times because she couldn't believe how high it was. Saw GP about it today and it was perfectly normal. Chirpy sparrer
3. Grateful i have enough savings to pay the vet bill
4. 2 nsd's
5. A truly stunning quarter moon this evening
Sweet dreams
PS if the Argentinians think having a Pope from their country is going to help their Falklands cause they can think again0 -
Good morning all !
Not much sleep as woke up at 1am and watched The Beach ( can't abide Di Caprio btw).
Sparrer - I hope your poor mog get better soon ! The new Pope was a bit frugal I hear, perhaps we might get a Pontif (sp) posting on here :rotfl:
CCP - well your neighbours have ruined it for themselves , because they will be back to square one with their parking probs. and have peed you off in the process.
Kittikins - ((hugs)) and welcome back x
PK - glad to hear that the COL gets a holiday soon
Have a lovely day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Looks like the Chicken came thirst this morning.
Last day of work this week. Yippppeeeeee so early POETS day.
Pleasures may be about later0 -
Quick hello from my phone! So a brief 5:
1. Was raining first thing and still dark as I drove to work. A decent sleep after too many hot nights. Spoke to a Scottish customer and we agreed how nice the sound of rain was.
2. Crazy day at work, our busiest day so far this year. I had to work an hour extra as I had time off yesterday. However I sat outside on my break as it was cool enough! Nice drive home.
3. Watched casualty and trying to watch holby too.
4. DD1 doing very well in her English oral presentation.
5. Takeaway for tea .
6. Lots of nice emails in response to one I sent out to friends and family .
Have a good day, bedtime and its so nearly the weekend !!0 -
Kittikins (((hugs))) hope you are feeling better now and dont hurt too much after your fall x
Frith such lovely news about smaller son's success at school. Just shows what the right nurturing environment can do ! Hope they can find a suitable school place for him soon x
sparrer sorry to hear about little girl mog hope they find out and treat what is ailing her soon x
Chicken thanks x
Pleasures yesterday and today
1. lots of lovely sun
2. spare room finally cleared of all DS's stuff and loads given to charity, recycled or binned
3. temporary change of hours at work (for next 2 week) and am almost feeling human again.House is tidy and I've been home cooking everyday as I'm not coming home exhausted. Not sure whether they will agree to permanent change, will see what they say after Easter leave.
4. DS is going away for the weekend with his father for paternal grandfathers 75th birthday, so a weekend of peace for me
5. good nights sleep last night without amitriptyline. Went to bed about 10.30 and woke at 5.30. (This is better than the 3 - 5 hours I have been getting without amitriptyline)
Have come to the conclusion that I am not going to be able to get a second jobIt seems all part time jobs now want you to be able to do full time hours when it suits them, to cover sick/leave of other employees. Plus I'm not now sure I can physically cope with another job. Will just have to budget even more carefully

Managed 2 hours at work before coming home and going back to bed, feel achy all over and it hurt to lift my head up to see my computer screen! Anyway, a good sleep has helped a lot and I feel vaguely human again.
1. A lovely friend called me earlier for a chat and to say she's been thinking about me, going to have a catch up with her later/tomorrow
2. YS bread
3. New bra arrived in the post and its soooo comfy
4. Council tax bill came - and thank goodness, it hasn't gone up and my local council have kept my 25% single person discount, which I was very fearful would virtually disappear seeing as it was threatened. Huge relief.
5. My outgoing water bill has gone down to £5 a month as I'm in credit with them, nice big saving there.
6. Just off to pick DD up from her after school club and have our traditional Thursday trip to the library, its the second best part of my day, picking her up x
If only these savings made a big difference, but like they say every penny helps!0 -
My five are
1. Lovely sunrise and appreciating the tree outlines against it.
2. A NSD
3. Work was nicely busy - not as chaotic as I thought it would be - but no laughs like yesterday but I hope others have today.
4. Receiving a compliment for a scarf I wore.
5. DH started decorating - some wallpaper is up!!0 -
Evening all.
This is my first attempt at posting on my phone, so I'm not sure how well this will work!
1) A bright yellow (lemon flavoured) macaroon courtesy of a colleague who recently visited France.
2) My bracelet broke at work this morning, but a kind colleague helped me collect all the beads and a local haberdashery sold me a replacement piece of beading elastic for the grand total of 8p!:money:
3) Walking back through the park in the sunshine, with the first green leaves appearing on the rose bushes.
4) Received the letter with the appointment for my foot, in two weeks' time, which is much better than the five months I had to wait last time.
5) Changed the bed so I've got nice clean sheets later.
Right, let's try posting...Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all
Mine for today
1. Ds2 has been moved to a higher table in school. He is now on the table below top :j He is doing so well.
2. Was given a local newspaper by on the teachers as the kids are in it
3. Got a few bargains at T's
4. Did some junk modeling with the kids, made a house for ds2's toy.

CCP, the post worked perfect.
Sparrer, thoughts are with you, "they leave paw prints on your heart".
1.I remembered to make and take lunch in, but I have to say while it was mse it was also awful.
2.I found a really nice vacancy, I went to apply and found it was direct with a company, rather than employment agency, I have my fingers crossed to at least hear from them I hope.:):)
3.Remembered to charge up the kindle.
4.Remembered to put in a prescription request as I have a pre payment cert at the mo.:p
5.DH’s replacement Chistmas present arrived and he seems happy with it. The orginal broke, we asked for the money back as it obviously wasn’t worth it and bought a “professional” version, which happened to be on offer by the time we wanted it.
6. Loaded up the washing machine as soon as I got in.
7. Dinner well it was going to be healthy, but I caved and ordered in using a £10 off voucher so err sort of helpful.:rotfl:0
