Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

I'm sorry to come on nice cheerful thread and whinge, but I'm starting to really regret making a neighbourly gesture: I agreed some months ago to let a couple in a neighbouring flat park their car behind mine, blocking me in, if they couldn't find anywhere else to park (it can be a nightmare round here) and didn't mind moving when I needed to get in or out. Somehow 'when necessary' has become 'whenever possible' - I keep getting home to find they've taken my allocated space - and apparently they're now threatening to report me to the letting agent for taking over the driveway, just because I extended the same offer to someone else. (They won't get far with the report, anyway - it's my space, and I pay for it!) No wonder so many people avoid their neighbours when a friendly gesture gets thrown back in your face like that. :(

    Right, sorry about that!

    1) LSD - just £1.99 spent on the seed offer from the MSE newsletter. :money:

    2) Managed a brief walk at lunchtime, although I remembered after a fairly short distance why my GP advised me to keep my weight off my bad foot - ouch! :(

    3) Took some LO pasta into work for lunch and quite enjoyed it once I'd got over my longing for a colleague's tuna sandwich. No matter what I take in, I want something different by lunchtime! :o

    4) Spicy veggie stew with falafel for dinner - the stew's cooking at the moment and smells .

    5) Only one more dose of ABs to go. :j Unless I get another infection before the appointment for the operation comes through, anyway. :undecided

DD - many congrats on your win. :T
Back after a very long break!
  • Appears some smoke has blown.

    Hi all
Chicken - yes, she was very helpful was Kirsty, I am giving Harry (Potter) a rest until I can get the next in the series. I do like to have something to listen or sing to whilst doing the housework, and, yes, the polish has been a pretend microphone on occasion :o:D:D
Dundee - well done on your win. Your posts are sounding much brighter.
    Kittikins?
CCP - give someone an inch, eh? We have similar issues with our neighbours who have 4 cars between them and loads of visitors in a close of only 6 houses. They seem to think all available spaces are theirs
Villagelife - I love laughing sessions like that. I had one on Sunday when DD was talking about someone at aquarobics, a man with one leg. I had absolute hysterics because I hadn't noticed :o (not laughing because the poor chap only has one leg, you understand, just my complete lack of awareness of anything around me!)
Mhags - you aren't the only one longing for 25 degrees!

I never have and never will "get" Mornington Crescent - OH keeps telling me that's the point, but I still don't get it. Oh and CHicken, I am not sure it is posh - it's round the corner from Euston Station.

    So today's

    1. Working from home and DD was going into Birmingham on the train today so no school run :T
    2. Long bath (I was taking some lieu time, though am regretting it now when I still have some of tomorrow's lecture to [STRIKE]make up[/STRIKE] write)
    3. More washing pretty well dried on the line
    4. Left over freezer turkey and gammon for tea with roasties.
    5. hoovered everywhere - I even PULLED OUT THINGS and hoovered behind them . Found some socks and tights I didn't know I'd lost behind my bedside chest of drawers. Then I mopped a floor or two.

Have a good evening all - I am going to finish this lecture and take myself to bed as feel very ratbaggy.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Evening all

    Mine for today

    1. Clean kitchen this morning and scrubbed it clean after tea :D

    2. Busy morning in work

    3. Bargains in t's :p

    4. Hubby gave me some of my favourite t-bags that he brought home from his last trip

    5. Everyone loved tea. I promised ds1 lasagne and hubby, dd and ds2 didnt want it. so ds1 had lasagne, i adapted it to low carb for me, dd and hubby had cheese pasta made with the same white sauce for lasagne and ds2 had 'red pasta' made from the mince in lasagne. so everyone basically had what i was making but all think i went to a huge amount of effort as they all had different things :rotfl: brownie points for mummy :T

    Evening

    DD - Well done
CCP - We have similar problems with neighbours blocking our car in even though OH has told them not to politely to please leave him room so he can get the car out.
Ampersand - Have a great time in London

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Today must have been the day for laughing at work as I also had a laugh till you cry moment with friend K when we were dismantling some dummies at work.
    2. NSD
    3. Another online survey completed so more luncheon vouchers due next week :money:
    4. Mega baking day today before and after work as we are having a charity day at work tomorrow and Friday for Red Nose Day. This morning I cooked several trays of sausage rolls, duck spring rolls and a batch of carrot cakes. Tonight I made HM corned beef and potato pasties, the northerner in me coming out in the last one:D. The security man at work is very excited at the pasties as a fellow northerner said it reminded him of going to his gran's so have to make sure I save some for him. Also managed to cook dinner in the midst of all of the baking.
    5. Washing dried on the line today as sun was shining.
    6. DD finding a photo of her as a baby with me, my mum and gran. Made me smile

Hugs to all who need them.

    Hello, Kittikins!

Here are my 5 for today.

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Went swimming with my brother. Didn't swim far, too pushed for time.

    3) Went with my brother to help him get various brother type jobs done (buying rifle ammo, getting a new wheel for his wheelbarrow and a trip to PCWorld - all very glamorous!)

    4) Went to smaller son's school for a parent evening (in the afternoon) and to get his IEP done again - it's a special needs list of what they're supposed to be concentrating on. Well, it was all very exciting! I have only been to his school twice as its a 60 mile round trip so got to look round his new classroom. There are 4 desks in his room and it is all very structured and calm looking (nice visual timetable, I noticed). He is doing very well and they would like him back in mainstream school in September. I said 6 mainstream schools had turned him down and the head got quite upset and said she would be on the phone to Special Services and get something sorted out. They don't have any of the problems with him that his old school did and he has only been in the "red zone" once in 5 months and they use him as an example for his 3 classmates on how to line up nicely etc (!) I was also pleased to see a half finished game of chess on the side and it seems he plays pretty much every day with his TA. :-D

    5) Got home to relieve my dad from babysitting.

    6) Had a Chinese takeaway for tea.

    That's about it.
