3. Hens would not venture out of the coop due to scary snow !
4.Visited Mum and the tiny terrier trotted back to my house ahead of me and has only just gone back.I don't think she will be a problem when she stays here for a week in June .Had a laugh with Mum as she read out her last years diary entry for todays date in 2012 - warm , sunny etc !

tealady lazy mornings are a truly os mse treat. i intend to have one saturday
missmoneysave glad you have found contentment
chicken it was warm and sunny here last week. can't remember last year lol
1) the car that lost control coming down our very steep and slippy road turned right rather than left so was stopped by a wall rather than our car (2 years ago) or our neighbour's car (last year). No-one hurt but car looked a write-off
2) watched with amusement (i know bad bad bad) as mercedes failed to make it up our road. The front wheels were just spinning and spinning. He gave up. They then closed our road apparently. Good job too.
3) Made the most fabby parsnip soup with left over veg from yesterday, parsnips, onion, curry paste, left over white wine (i only drink red so we never have any red over lol) and xmas frozen cream. scrummy!
4) OH out so I had the rest of the fabby parsnip soup for supper with 2 bits of pitta bread out the freezer. did i mention the soup was scrummy?
5) my paper has been accepted for Prague conference yay. sorta OS cos work will payMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Blimey - looks like we're all cream crackered. I was thinking it's my age, but maybe it's the weather.
Were there any pleasures given the atrociousness of the weather?
1. Took DD to early school, phoned DS on way to make sure he was upIt meant I got to work in time to make coffee
2. My HNC group were as non-communicative as ever but as the topic today was very much my forte, and usually sparks much conversation, I now think it is them not me, which is good to know.
3. Away at 11 (which is good, especially as these sessions are on days I don't get paid for and they owe me so much time now, I doubt I will get it all back) and able to meet friend for lunch.
4. A bake fest this afternoon (instead of cleaning the kitchen), singing "There's a guy works down the chip shop swears he's Elvis" along with Kirsty MacColl at the top of our collective voices. It is safe to say that hers is (was) better than mine
I don't even care that my chocolate tea bread is minging.
5. My lemon drizzle cake and flapjacks aren't though.
Night allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Packed lunches for everyone today, glad I had today as was to cold to go outside.
2. Completed a survey so £3 of Luncheon vouchers should be with me shortly and hopefully a product to test.
3. So cold when left work tonight got the bus home as couldn't face the walk in the cold wind. Best £1.40 spent today.
4. Easy tasty dinner of meatballs and pasta
5. Quiet hour tonight so finished reading my book
Hugs to all who need them0 -
1. Pleased not to have to go out today, except to put the mw on the garden table as it was very hot and making strange buzzing noises. That was far enough for me! No snow to speak of, a bit of dandruff occasionally and one or two flurries but nothing on the ground. Intermittent beautiful sunshine. Heating on and snuggled in polar bear jimmes and dressing gown
2. My handsome lad's 12th birthday, celebrated with a cake he shared with the mogs. As it was made with some scraps of veg, fish, etc., I declined to join them
3. 7 nsd's so far this month
4. Made a mahoosive pot of veg casserole in the sc, which if I add some veg stock from the freezer and blend, some of it can be soup
5. Browsing through websites for @rgos etc., found a neat little mw and have more than enough Nectar points to pay for it
Stay safe and warm, sweet dreams0 -
Stupidly cold and stormy. The only heat is in the lounge and it is only 12 degrees in there! So 2 hwb in bed.
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Boys off to school happily.
3) Plenty of yesterday's carrot cake left for me.
4) House reasonably tidy and more washing done.
5) Got boys' stuff ready for tomorrow. Bigger son has to take the ingredients for vegetable soup and smaller son has swimming.
6) Rather enjoyed watching Gordon Ramsay in dreadful kitchens USA (or whatever its called). I don't usually watch him but the restaurant was in Baltimore which is the only bit of the US I know at all.
7) Just a Minute now.0 -
Good afternoon all !
VJsmum- do you remember Kirsty Macoll was in a programme called "Maggie" in either the late '70's or very early '80's ?
Sparrer - perhaps the SR flour was in the dodgy appliance?
5 for today
1. Working from home because of snow,in bed because its comfy with heat pack and laptop so thighs and lumbar spine nice and toasty.
2.Poxy white stuff is finally melting:D
3.OH got some doughnuts .He ate two and Mum and I had one
4. Terrier on bed in OH's "place" watching the racing at Cheltenham and growling at snow falling off of the roof. She trotted over here again...She looks really tiny on our huge bed.
5. Arranged loads of work related appointments for when the vile stuf has gone . Calendar full .
Have a good day all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Hello everyone, I've been lurking for a while so thought I'd join in!
1. Last night my boyfriend had a store bought lamb burger and a HM beef burger for dinner (more meat was his solution to my lack of burger buns!), and commented on how much better my HM ones were
2. I managed to wake up at exactly the right time this morning despite my phone switching itself off during the night and the alarm not going off.
3. Finally I'm leaving the house for work at 6:40am and it's completely light now, spring is on it's way!
4. A colleague asked for the recipe for the HM casserole I had for lunch today because the smell was so good.
5. I've just found a recipe to use up a pack of chicken thighs for tonight's dinner. I have all of the ingredients and I'll get to use my slow cooker for the first time!March Grocery Challenge: £59.46/£800
