No snow here.....anyone want 37o of heat to melt the snow? You are all more than welcome to it!

    Quickly as its bedtime!

    1. Some people were on holiday today ( my family and most of Victoria ) not I but I will have an extra day at Easter. They had a nice day off.

    2. My husband sorted out dishwasher, washed kitchen floor ( twice apparently!, put steak in slow cooker, made the perfect gravy, he is amazing!

    3. Washing was put on and out by DD1, the fact that it was mostly her clothing would suggest she had a pile in her filthy dirty bedroom ....however they are clean clothes now!

    4. The yummiest dinner of steak pie, roast potatoes and parsnips ( j'adore parsnips!) ....with perfect gravy! Made a peach and pear sponge whilst oven was on.

    5. Went on a hot date with my husband when I got in from work.....cool drink at local cafe!

    6. First loaf of bread made! Sparrer I had One years ago and ended up giving it away to a friends daughter as I didn't use it enough. But decided I would give it a go again! Smells delicious!

That's me, awffy warm hugs to those that need!

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday,
    1. Lazy morning with DD making me a cup of tea and bringing me a croissant in bed.
    2. Lovely card and mothers day presents from DD, even if I did get one myself but she has remembered to give me the money.
    3. DM and MIL loving their presents. OH was quite funny taking the credit for his DM's present when he didn't even know what was in the gift bag:D
    4. Yummy dinner at inlaws
    5. Even though out for dinner got organised and roasted a chicken for lunches for the week and baked some ginger cake muffins while the oven was on.

Hugs to all who need them

Spoke too soon, we have snow, but only about an inch. My oriental poppy's foliage came on considerably in the recent warm spell and is now looking sorry for itself. It should be ok, it always is.

A pleasure already, my cousin Arnold in Estonia messaged me on FB to say that my parcel of clothes and a cute child's bag for his children had reached him (Primarni's finest; his daughter's top was a Disney one with Bambi and Thumper, I so hope she likes it.)

There is a very close resemblence between his DD7 and my DGD11, such a strong genetic line as we are not very close relatives, (second cousins) but I look exactly like his family - I look very much like my Mum, who also had the family stamp of looks - though she was better looking than me, a true beauty when she was younger.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • Glad to hear everyone enjoyed their Mother's Day. I received a cuppa tea, the bed got made and I had a lovely gift- the fabulous baker brother cookbook- all from Ian the dog, he is a very clever pooch indeed! Did it all himself apparently :rotfl:

DD the house we like is next to Ranby prison.

    My five for the weekend;

    1. Dinner at BIL's-he is a fantastic cook. Was absolutely gorgeous roast gammon, cauli-cheese, roast veg and roast spuds. Divine.

    2. Lots of laughter with my 18month niece entertaining us. She is just learning to speak and when asked to say Uncle Tom she replied No! When asked to shout Ian the dog she was running round shouting 'eeeeee-on'

    3. Tea and cake with my family yesterday evening, nice to see everyone.

    4. Wishing happy Mother's Day via a little prayer to those no longer with me, particularly my old work colleague, she was my second mum and looked after me whilst I tried to work during my severe mental illness. A wonderful woman who passed so suddenly not long ago. She will have enjoyed watching me have such a happy day, it's been a long road.

    5. Getting home and feeling exhausted but utterly content. Surrounded by wonderful people and the future is looking bright in all the ways I never imagined it would. I wanted to be a workaholic, single woman with a nice flat in London but my breakdown changed all that. I am a completely different person to what I thought I would be. I work from home a majority of the time, I cook, I clean and I enjoy keeping a nice home. I am surrounded by people and I want a house with a garden so I can grow my own veg and keep chickens. I am a world apart from where I thought I would be and I am so grateful I got here.

:o got a bit emotional then, sorry folks!

Missmoneysave, that was a lovely post.:)
Not sure where my post for yesterday went, my laptop decided to do updates and I thought I had posted but apparently not, it was a lovely day.

Not a pleasure our Easter plans have fallen throu, it’s fine well sort of, we have found a lovely campsite but they don’t know if they will be open for Easter as it’s weather dependant and won’t know until the day before we would want to go away. Hmmm time to look for alternatives, just not sure what yet.
1.I couldn’t get in due to train disruption so worked from home, fairly handy as I could not get to sleep at all last night, finally dropping off at 4.30.
2.Was able to get the work done and save a day off the weekly rail fare:o
3.Sorted some finance bits out, closed a couple of old accounts, applied for a new one.
    4. It’s snow blizzarding here hypnotic to watch.:o
5.Dinner already done and dusted pasta bake with disguised left overs.:rotfl:
  • Here are mine for today :)

    1. Getting half of my uni assignment done as I have been putting it off for the past two months!

    2. Making lentil shepards pie with sweet potato mash, a big one for tonights tea and three individual portions for the freezer .. one of my fave meals :)

    3. Watching my favourite vlogs on YouTube which always makes me feel happy.

    4. Getting the last bits of our washing done and aired on the line for most of the day until it started snowing but got them in quickly so were fine.

    5. The fact it is still light outside and OH will be walking through the door soon!

Hope everyone has had a nice day!

    Evening all.

    1) Snow. Like PK's, mine was almost blizzard-like - my garden looks like it's been covered in icing but, amazingly, the roads and pavements are pretty much clear, which is about the best combination, I think.

    2) Watching a wren on the pots on my patio. It clearly knew I was watching from only a few inches away - on the other side of the window - but knew I was no threat from there and carried on regardless. So cute!

    3) Back at work, with colleagues to talk to. :j

    4) Stopped on the way home to get some boring-but-necessary washing up sponges, and found some RTC pasties which will do me for lunch for the next couple of days.

    5) Planning a lazy evening on the sofa with a cat, a fleece blanket and a silly film, thanks to a special offer from a film rental website. :money:

Have a warm, safe evening, everyone.
Back after a very long break!
  • Visions of the egg, chicken and poppadoms. Just curious as to what came thirst.

    1. It has snowed on and off sometimes in heavy flurries sometimes not so.

    2. House is nice and warm with fire on the go it makes it all worthwhile when you can have the fire and it's freezing outside.

    3. House has been cleaned today.

    4. Dropped my God-daughters birthday card and prezzie down to her tonight and had a big chat with her mum (my good friend).

    5. Walked back in to a lovely warm house it was so nice. Debating big time whether to leave the heating on all night tonight not sure on that!!
