    1. Managed to track down online one of the very last Emma Bridgewater small bakers. Been after this for a while since she discontinued it so glad to have found one of the last ones at an online shop :j

    2. Sat and had a cappucino while sitting doing some sewing this morning.

    3. Got some stuff loaded up onto Fleabay - lets see if it sells!!

    4. It has snowed, I baked a cake and loved it while watching the snow tumble down outside

    5. Really nice Sunday lunch.

Hope you all had a lovely mothers day

    Good evening all !

Who has stolen the weekend ??

    black cat - welcome !

PK - it sounds as if you are having a nice time

VJsmum and all you other Mum's I hope that you were all thoroughly spoilt

Sparrer - I had to think... flour on the ceiling :rotfl:

    5 for yesterday

    1. Breakfast of boiled egg ( and left over poppadoms ...) straight from my hens hot bott.

    2. Not too impressed as two of my nieces left a message on my Mum's answerphone to say they were driving down from the big smoke to see her yesterday. Mum rushed around (as did the rest of the family) getting food prepared for them at such short notice and they never showed up and didn't even bother to phone her ... They are in their late 20's so no excuse , just bliddy rude:mad: except when they want to borrow thousands of pounds from her of course.... I was upset for Mum, who is nearly 80 !!!!!!.Rant over .. pleasure taking some scones, strawberries and cream home that were bought for the nieces .

    3. OH got an rtc chicken for £2 now in freezer.

    4. Lifted a few weights, in bedroom with curtains shut too Black cat ;) -I am a qualified Instructor so know what not to do - did a few v. light squats and lunges with the bar- butt feels like its tightly wrapped in clingfilm now it hurts so much:rotfl::rotfl:in a "good" way.

    5. Washing dried on the line

    5 for today

    1. Saw my brother , SIL and their children . Gave SIL Mr. T voucher and some Cliniq*e face wash I don't use.

    2. Had lots of cuddles with the terrier.

    3. Gave Mum some photos in nice frames of her and I on Christmas Day and one funny one of the tiny terrier sort of smiling with one ear up.

4.Sheets dried on line are now beckoning me to get into bed.

5.Quorn, lentil cottage pie and made OH a real meaty one - nice and simple .

looking forward to watching Shetland tonight with OH - His folk were crofters there for hundreds of years , we have all of the history in the loft , this may spur him on to bring it down and go through it.

Have a lovely evening all !

Blimey - Chicken's eggs lay poppadoms :rotfl:
    Welcome Black Cat
Ampersand - you are singularly unlucky in the "Losing posts" stakes (ooh LOL Posts / stakes :p)

    For today

    1. Woke early but managed to doze for a while till a half decent time.
    2. Lovely pressies from Kids - how did they know I wanted the new Kirsty Maccoll greatest hits and some body sh0p shower gel. Could it have something to do with the exchange of texts with OH yesterday ;)
    3. Watching several episodes of Call the Midwife and the final one has just started
    4. Even though it was snowing, I didn't have to go out. Am thoroughly sick of it.
    5. Yummy chicken curry for tea which was a combination of mine and OH's efforts.

    Have a lovely evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Snowed here too rainydays and is now brrrrrrrr
    1) lovely flowers and card from dd2 and fb hugs from dd1
    2) super service at cathedral where provost talked of motherly love which may or may not come from mothers and can come from others irrespective of gender. Then children's church gave little posies to everyone and we wrote names of anyone who'd given us motherly love on bits of green paper and wove them into a large rainbow hanging.
    3) then shared lunch of soup, homemade bread, cheese, pate and simnel cake
    4) then home for the rugby. Perhaps not england's finest day, but greatly admire the way italy battled
    5) dd2 has gone back to edinburgh with her bf tonight. We were going to give her a lift down but we live on a hill and the road was covered in snow so we walked her down. It's 40 minutes each way and, well wrapped up, a really nice walk. Glad to be in bed now though. Sweet dreams everyone.

Feel a bit tired and icky tonight so won't linger here long. Am in bed already.

    Hope you are OK, Kittikins.

    1) 11 hours sleep! (No sons this weekend).

    2) Went to the farmer's market. Met mum and dad there. Mum was reasonably enthusiastic, dad wanted to get back in the car (was -2, windy and snowing) and there were too many people crammed around the tents for my liking. So we had a posh hot dog then went home.

    3) Made a carrot cake in the afternoon. Was a bit bland but I'm sure we will manage to eat it. Did orange icing on top and that was tasty.

    4) House quite clean and up to date with the washing.

    5) Mum and dad's for tea.

    6) Sons came back and had remembered it is mother's day!

    7) Bigger son has now finished all homework. A lot this week, took us 4 different shifts to get it done.

    8) Watched Top Gear with sons and had hot chocolate and hwb (its blowing a gale here now and still light snow in the air).

    9) Now in bed with 2 hwb and about to catch up on the Archers.....

    A collection of counted blessings:-

    1. Snow has not settled. I like snow, usually, but this winter has been too long.

    2. Spending time with DGC & dog when babysitting. Dog (a lady English Springer) has been brought up to date with immunisation jabs, much to my relief, as parvo is rife in the area, and has killed local dogs.

    3. Really enjoyed my library books - have donated many nearly new books to the library recently and it's time to start using it again.
One of the New Scientist "Why are..." books and Paul O'Grady's latest autobio, which I think I will buy as like the others he's written, I enjoyed it and will want to read it again.

    4. Caught up with all ironing. Wardrobe now heaving again and it's months since some of these clothes were worn.

    5. Whilst hunting for my clothing that had got mixed with DS's ironing, on his shelving, I came across a beautifully soft black microfleece throw that I had completely forgotten about.
It's replaced a smaller, less warm throw to keep me warm as I type. Often I have fallen asleep in my chair and then nearly fallen over as I attempted to walk with cold and painful joints. I am sat now, wonderfully warm and feeling grateful.

    6. Mother's Day gifts and spoilings - winter punch, choccies (eaten whilst babysitting), a kalanchoe plant, lovely cards and Surf 'n' Turf for Sunday late lunch cooked by DS. The Surf bit was queen scallops, rather than lobster, which takes an age to prepare. The Turf was super-tender rare steak. Yum.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    .
That is with the emphasis on the POP, of course?

Welcome to the crazy house black cat :hello:, do visit again...if you dare!

    1. I didn't go to the football match as it was snowing, I was sorry to have missed it as although they lost 5:4 it was apparently an exciting game. I went straight to DD's house where DGD2 was waiting for me with the kettle on
    2. DGD1, DGS2, DGS3 and DGGD (age 6) arrived with a trifle and a cheesecake which the little one had a hand in making
    3. DGD2 did all the veg including a cauli cheese and mashed swede
    4. Watched England win the rugby :T, Spurs lose :(, and Man U draw :p. I never watch things like that at home but it was interesting in company. It made me laugh listening to the men, they all had an opinion about which player should have done what :D
    5. DD cooked the most amazing roast beef dinner, the meat was so tender the knife went through it like butter. Then we all stuffed ourselves full of trifle and cheesecake before collapsing back onto the sofas. It was the most relaxed Mothering Sunday I've had for about 20 years

    Sweet dreams :)

    good morning all !

:rotfl:I will ask the hens to rustle up some samosas next time.

VJsmum- I thought Kirsty M . had died ? I love the song that she did with the Pogues - I sing "Merry Christmas you ar*ehole lets hope its our last !!" to OH much to his disgust.

Getting anxious +++ about the impending snow, great for people who have nothing to do and for kids to play in it but darn inconvenient for the rest of us . Will go to work for a meeting then I will be working from home before it starts . Occ Health says so !!

    Have a good day all
