Well,
-let's begin with Bonne Anniversaire à la fille cherie de notre Kitti! and it sounds, as Frith says, as if things are moving in la bonne direction.
1. Haven't posted since yesterday. Thought I was done and dusted for, but after that phone call thought it more help to bake/cook and take in morning. So, chicken roasted, macaroni cheese With Variations, mincemeat tarts and lemon curd ditto, plus a medley of curious treats, which are more likely to make next few days'/weeks' living bearable than basics[have already seen to those].
2. R4X offered up old Alan Partridge biche duties distraction and he is sooo good. Even this 1992 oldie remains wit-sharp and brilliant fun -

3. Thankyou ccp - yes, I'll change email too. At least with BTYahoo I can opt to remain with Classic - and do. I use one for personal, other for other, iykwim.
4. Have been massively enjoying saturating self in Lord Minchin of Youtube Tim and downloading lyrics.
5. Other thing that was supposed to happen for next test hasn't, but I'm feeling wide awake at silly clocks and think I'll go and take further swig of Dr's gloop. Prob. should sleep a bit, big start to day soon, then it will prob. take its own shape as prev.plans must slip away unnoticed in face of Person's situ/bereavement.
6. Important add-on, found just now:

ampersand hope it is sorted out to your satisfaction and you're not left out of pocket and an apology is forthcoming.
kittikins glad that things are more positive at moment
sparrer a friend has a cat with diabetes and the injections are no problem for her now as she is used to it and her cat has improved with them and is back to normal.0 -
Hello....from a stench of smoke filled house:(
Something had been spilled inside oven and burned ( think thick black smoke reeking all over the house . Doors and windows opened but smell lingers ....bleurgh !
Well alarm set for an early start today ( normally wake up early anyway but just in case..)
1. Phone call to SIL, my inlaws are quite poorly just now so keeping up to date with what's going on.
2. Then train into the city. Went into cathedral , thanks given and a candle lit, then we met friends from church back home who are over here on holiday. I was at school with their daughter many years ago. When we were home at Christmas they came over to say they would be here in March .... So 4 hours just flew by with chit chat! Had lunch which they paid for, we were going to get the bill but they insisted!!! Which was lovely! Nice to chat quickly in Scottish!!
3. Snoooooze when we got home.
4. Being careful for what you wish for.... Temperature is a third of what it was days ago! 12o and we're sitting with blankets on our knees! It is lashing with torrential rain which whilst good for the gardens....not so much for getting hunners of washing done! Most autumnal!
5. Enjoying watching David Attenborough 's Africa , as always the filming is stunning.
Have a lovely day and cooler than normal hugs to those people and their pets that need them and happy birthday to young Miss K0 -
Seems that some of us were burning the midnight oil, had a sleepless night due to yesterdays news and horrific future expenses. Thank goodness for these forums, have had some v good advice which has given me a glimmer of hope.
Happy Birthday Miss Kittikins, can't believe it's a year since your 7th! Have lots of fun opening the special envelope and beautifully wrapped presents
All x'd for you Kittikins, sounds like your fortunes re career could be looking up
ampersand I changed from MSN some 10 years ago, now use gmail /chrome most successfully. With respect I can now understand why you've been losing so many posts, imho MSN is the most unstable of all services. Hope you get fully reimbursed for the theatre disappointment, stand your ground.
Frith I love smaller son's bally-reering, what a super word! Do you write them in a little book? It would be sad to lose them and lovely to look back on
Thank you village life, I'm sure I'll get used to it - no choice in fact! Am making an appt with another vet for a 2nd opinion as the 'advice' yesterday's gave me was quite horrific. So pleased to hear your friend's mog is back to normal
VJsmum one nice thing about this medium is that you can vent as long and loud as you like, the very act of doing so is very cathartic and you can delete with absolutely no guilt afterwards!
mhags seems like our weather has met in the middle, wet, windy, chilly, generally bleughh. I enjoy hearing about the area you live in and the city, and try to picture the images of birds, places and so on
Enjoy your time off chicken, I have a suspicion some (a lot?) of it will be in the company of a Terrier. Thanks again for the tip re using 50% hair colour, used the second half this morning with excellent results. Also the Rescue works beautifully, now feel sorry for anyone who doesn't read these forums and pays for the branded product.
Time to start my day, first to work out how I can save a further £30/40 a month!!!!!! on my outgoings which is what vet says it's going to cost for mogs treatments. Massive but it has to be done. Now, what can I sell?!
Back later with my 5, (((hugs))) to all, have a good rest of the day0 -
sparrer - I'm sorry to hear about little Ying's diagnosis.
If it's any consolation, I remember reading that cats don't generally find diabetes injections painful, and some rather enjoy it as it's an opportunity for an extra cuddle. I'm sure that, one way or another, you'll get things sorted out for her.
mhagster - I've just been watching the highlights of the qualifying session for the grand prix in Melbourne (your part of the world?) and the weather's truly horrendous - there were some lovely shots of Australian waterbirds swimming on the track, though!
ETA - I've just looked up one of the birds as I didn't recognise it, and it's a purple swamphen or, in Maori, a pukeko - so that's where the name of your boots comes from, ampersand!
kittikins - that's great news about your application - fingers crossed it works out this time! And a very happy birthday to Miss Kittikins!
I'll add a late pleasure for last night while I'm here: I had rented a couple of films online, but complained as the sound quality was really poor, so they've given me my money back. It's only four quid, but I'm still pleased. :TBack after a very long break!0 -
(((Hugs))) for ying and sparrer
Ampersand - how upsetting and disappointing hope you get suitable recompense
Kittikins - everything crossed for you, hope your DD has a wonderful birthday, I am sure she will with a lovely creative thoughtful mother like you x

Thanks from Miss Kitty for all the birthday wishes
She's rampaging around the house with her best friend waiting for me to get the dinner on right now, lol.
1. Miss Kitty came in just before 7am and was deeelighted, you could say overwhelmed, with her presents and cards
2. We enjoyed our traditional breakfast and cuddles in bed and watched one of her DVDs before getting up.
3. Grandadkins arrived with cuddles, hot cross buns (her favourites) and has done some fab stuff around the house for me - I now have a mirror and a loo roll holder in the bathroom, woohoo!
4. Bestest friend of Miss Kitty arrived just after lunch and I took them pottery painting - they did unicorns, I did a rectangular pen holder that I'm hoping to repurpose as an electric toothbrush holderI like stylish yet functional....
5. Came back to more presents and cakes delivered by lovely friend!
6. Managed to offload a cupboard I no longer need to a chum who says its perfect for her
7. Hoorah - got free parking at the pottery place!
8. Wonders will never cease.....DD's father bothered to remember her birthday, and a card with £20 and a badge came through the door this morning. She's happy, I'm still fed up that he's not remembered Christmas was a few months ago and hasn't replied to our text of 2 weeks ago.....ho hum.
9. Moving swiftly on....Miss Kitty's godmother has just texted to say she wants to arrange a visit to us, so that'll be another ' birthday' weekend when she does
10. Miss Kitty, best friend and I had a lovely chat at the pottery place with a couple of amazing artists who are painting the most beautiful pieces and gave them lots of tips. They were in awe of the talent of these ladies, as was I!0 -

Now seems to be a good time to come on the forum as the rugby's just depressing.(Well played Wales, though.)
1) Woken up early this morning by the wind throwing the rain against the window, so I snuggled down and went back to sleep.
2) NSD and NPD.
3) Cheese on toast for brunch.
4) Slow-cooked beef rendang (Malaysian curry) for dinner - it's been simmering away for just over an hour and already smells fantastic.
5) Only five more minutes of rugby to go before the misery ends.
ETA - great picture, BoP - thanks for posting that.Back after a very long break!0
