    1. ccp - 'and it's a purple swamphen or, in Maori, a pukeko - so that's where the name of your boots comes from, ampersand! '...and I've been wearing them all day! Had work to do and running about. I loved them all over again. I have, however, removed them for bed, 2 milky drinks and an avocado to the good, Grauniad in waiting, excellent book to finish with another by same author to follow, 'Spiral' to remember, 'Spiral' to catch up! etc.etc.

    2. Back in time for 2nd half and what a dazzling, fantastic display of out-and-out rampagery. What a victory! Richly deserved and I tap away here, with France vs Scotland about to begin and I'll be happy whoever...

    3. Have put self at service of Person described in 3. of hier...passed 1st night sleeping rough. Bought some helpful extras at excellent jumble sale this arvo and can but be there for talk, support, listening, reinforcing, pilot vessel-ing. Will assist @carboot demain - where paths 1st crossed only a fortnight back. One soul going through Hell, one wanderer buffeted to breaking point, one more person having Life kick, kick, kick sans arrêt and ever more viciously, the more they're bloodied and down. How many more do we fail to discern?

    4. I have today been gifted primroses, snowdrops, crocus, daffs, hellebore clumps and some wonderful stone from that person's Life, which I will nurture in safer, saner ground.

    5. Wry is not the word. 'Hello A' I wrote hier ' Not sure why you've sent me this'....Well, he hadn't. His a/c has been hacked so have to do the all-change, advise all thing, but THAT's all on BT Yahoo, not the shall-remain-nameless other.

    6. Right - bed, rugby, spiral, spiral, grauniad, books, snug, warm, several arrangements made today are gelling...recapping on aforesaid feels pleasurey all over again. Might as well round it off by wearing my pukeko gummies in bed....not

[and no-one notices me sneaking in with a sly Knight's Manoeuvre Leytonstone. And you can't stop me because we're still in the Olympic/Chess Mondiale 3rd quartile]

1.Had a lovely hot soak, some strong painkillers and out for the count
2.We woke up this morning and it was tipping it down, so for the first time in a long time we said sod it and went back to bed, we didn’t get up until well very late DH said we must have needed it.:)
3.We missed a couple of calls and thought it was unusual, to be greeted with I have been given your phone number I hear you rescue animals, you had better come and rescue this one – oh joy, I was relieved when we went over the chap was a lot nicer. We picked him up and he’s not in a great way he has ticks, a little injury and is very thin. He has eaten bowls of food, I made some warm convalescence soup and he’s now in the warm with food and water, not going to pull him about until he’s rested a bit, if he ever gets to sleep.
4.On the way back picked up a Chinese take away, scoffed the lot already, and we are both still hungrey, realised we haven’t eaten today.
    5. Just relaxing well even more, not exactly a hard day.:rotfl:

Ampersand, I'm gutted for you. I love Tim Minchin too and I would have been so upset if that had happened to me.

BoP, great piccie. It's many years since I was at Weston Super Mud. A few times we crossed on the Waverley paddle steamer from Cardiff when I was little - I also went to Ilfracombe from Cardiff, it seemed to take forever to get there and back and we had a couple of hours in Devon at the very most!

    Sparrer
, I am pleased the Rescue Oil worked, I haven't tried mine from £land yet as some Av*n oil arrived at the same time.

    1. I am Welsh. The rugby was a pleasure. C'mon Scotland, go and wooden spoon France.

    2. Used up the last of my 'Christmas' shower gel, cranberry and cinnamon, a lovely fragrance for winter, then discovered a 400ml bottle at well under half price in a brochure. Ordered it ready for next December.

    3. DS passed on an Easter egg he won in a raffle. Chocolate with bits of toffee in and a bag of toffee too. The bag has gone, but I will have an egg for Easter this year. Usually I'm dieting and nobody buys me one, though I would really, really like just a little one.

    4. Sis's b-day today and her gifts and card reached her in time.

    5. Needed to replace a sieve and found two in a £ shop that are sturdier than the original.

    6. 6 of my bargain buy roses - 10 blooms for £1.50 - have perked up in the vase, so enough to make a nice little display.
A!di's flowers are such a bargain, always, even when reduced. I have been on a very tight budget for quite some time now and fresh flowers have been noticeable by their absence. I earned more in this week, though, than I did in three months of last year, so things are on the up again. I won't be paid for 6 weeks or so, however.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Restless nights sleep but finally got to sleep about 5 o'clock for a few hours.
    2. Shopping done for the week and came in a quite a bit under budget. Still a couple of bits to buy which I couldn't get today but will still be well in budget. Have been putting the excess in a seperate purse for the last couple of weeks and now have nearly £30 in there :money:. Will use it for a family treat at some point.
    3. Had a little snooze this afternoon
    4. £3 luncheon vouchers in the post from a survey completed earlier in the week.
    5. Easy, tasty and cheap dinner of a HM veg soup with Ravioli and garlic bread.

Hugs to all who need them

    Flat Holm? Or Steep Holm?
And it sounds like Miss Kittikins had a lovely day.

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) A lie in!

    2) Went with my brother to his friend Colin's house. C is moving so we had loads of wood and bits of furniture from his stables. Brother cut it all up for me so we have firewood again!

    3) Sons and MrN's son5 walked to the farm shop and got themselves an all day breakfast for lunch! I read the papers. I then got a text from son5 asking if I could pick them up because it was raining. :-D

    4) Cleaned. Dusted, cleaned the stairs, floors etc.

    5) Quite a tasty tea.

    6) Went to the ford to sail some paper boats. It is the only time ever I haven't dared drive the car through, it was just too deep and fast flowing today.

    7) Did enjoy not having to watch any sport today. What a pity for MrB that Man City lost the football then England lost the rugby :-D I'm so disinterested that I don't even know who I would support. I could go for Wales, having one son with the most Welsh name possible, I suppose.

    8) Enjoyed Casualty this evening. I was in the bath just before it started and I went downstairs to find sons had put some more logs on the stove, made me a cup of tea and lit the candles for me!

    9) Thought smaller son was looking more massive than ever (at 9, he is in 12 and 13 year old clothes) and I measured both sons and they have each grown another 3 cm. Since December.

    1) Had a lie in.
    2) Homemade marmalade for breakfast!
    3) Did my exercise.
    4) Easter eggs from OH's family.
    5) Movie night with OH.

Hello , tea time in these parts! Has been a chilly old day....we were all so cold! Not cold enough to put the heating on but the girls have been wearing wooly hats ( bought in Scotland when we were home!) and thick socks!
OH has had a poorly day and has been wrapped up in a duvet all day!

    1. Early start and phone call to friend, tidied kitchen as I talked ....removed all traces of burnt smell from last night and put a wax melt on to enhance the aroma!!

    2. Sunday scone, (date) and a mooch through the papers....the broadsheets today...sat at a big enough table to have them spread out.

    3. Grocery shopping....came in around budget .

    4. Ironed and ironed, washed and washed....with a mix of tumble drier, clothes horse and towels out on line I managed to get everything dried. Just waiting on people claiming their respective piles!

    5. Made bread, bread was gone in a flash, whilst still warm! made jam in the breadmaker too! Quite impressed with that function, strawbs were on special in Aldi so worked out cheap enough.

    6. Made leek and potato soup too......the intention was for the bread to go with the soup but it was gone too quickly!

    7. Watched lots of Holby episodes, I'm on series 13 (2011) and working my way through as well as watching the current series! Sad but true :)

    8. Had a snooze .....I do like a wee snooze at the weekend.

    9. Looking forward to the final of masterchef tonight.

    10. Liking the autumnal changes, leaves on trees changing colour, has stayed dry if chilly today but wrapped up and it's fine! ( back to summer on Wednesday though!!)

There we go, 10 pleasures ain't so bad are they!

Have a lovely day whatever you get up to :)
