    Evening all.

I haven't had a particularly good day today so I've been struggling a bit to think of five pleasures:

    1) Porridge for breakfast with raisins and lots of brown sugar - not fantastically healthy, but I needed the sugar to get me out of the door after mog sang me awake at 3am. :(

    2) Found a very nice scented candle RTC.

    3) At a colleague's suggestion, I took off my soaked boots after a trip into the city centre at lunchtime - walking around the office in my socks wasn't very professional, but better than having cold, wet feet all afternoon.

    4) Received a response from the company I bought a mini greenhouse from last spring, who are at least prepared to consider my complaint that it's broken already.

    5) Yummy dinner tonight - chicken, bacon and mushrooms in a white wine sauce with a buttery jacket potato and the last of the wine in a glass to go with it.
Right, I'll stop there before mog treads on the keyboard again and hits the delete key!

ETA - fingers crossed for you and Jenny, Bop.
Back after a very long break!

Hugs CCP, go and stroke moggy and light that scented candle - hope it'll make you feel better x

    Jenny/Bop - get well soon x

    1. DD and I left the house VERY late this morning but thankfully the traffic was in my favour and I was pretty much on time for work - phew!

    2. Have booked for DD, me and my parents to go and see the Wallace & Gromit classical concert in Brighton :) My credit card will cry but what the heck.....one ticket was free as my mummykins is disabled, and one ticket will be cheaper as I'm buying it off a colleague who over-booked!! :) So kind of MS after all....

    3. Lots and lots of cuddles with DD today, thank goodness she's not 'too old' for all that yet :)

    4. DD has made a lovely clay pot this evening, we were joking it'll be big enough for at least 2 x 5ps but I think she managed to make it a wee bit bigger!

    5. Have managed to get rid of more of our old 'treasures' to the charity shop. Still the house looks a tip, but one day, maybe one day...

    Sparrer, Hope it’s going ok.
BOP, Ohh hope Jen settles down.
1.I remembered to make and take in lunch, it wasn’t very good but it was a saving, used rtc bread rolls, and rtc chicken slices also 30p from freezer, but I still didn’t get in from work until late.
2.I received and returned a few phone calls that were about my job applications, leaving me feeling hopeful, as there’s not much movement today, it’s weird thou the phone call I had that should leave me feeling upbeat, my inner intuition says “no”, hoping it’s off kilter lol.
3.I meal planned, I am working my way through a freezer draw.
4.Remembered to defrost food tonight for tomorrow.
    5. Watching a bizarre program about shouldn’t we eat insects, with a classic line of you have to kill them first or they jump out when you fry them

    Hello all

Chicken - FN is fine thanks, her mum and dad are going to try counselling and Dad (who is her adopted dad) is lightening up on her after constantly critiscising (SP??) her all the time, which is part of the problem between sis and BIL. FN has also said she would like to come with us on holiday to Wales again this August so i am really pleased about that - I keep thinking she will outgrow it, but am happy she hasn't yet.

    1. DS birthday - 14!! We all had to wake up early as OH and DD had to get the 7.30 train, so in order to do pressies it was a 6.30 start (his choice). He was happy with what he got and I was a bit worried that the v. expensive football kit he got was too small but in fact it is perfect.
    2. My teaching session with the group from hell went really well, I went down a traditional "chalk and talk" route, rather than "death by powerpoint" and it seemed to work.
    3. My last extra teaching session of the year. :T
    4. Lunch with friends which was an unexpected pleasure.
    5. Steak for tea (not RTC, unfortunately) but was beautiful and excellently cooked by OH. Just got to wash up now :( which I shall do with the help of the Archers (but not Pip, obvs :p)

Then i am off to bed as am feeling a little under the weather - but not as rough as I did 14 years ago :D
I wanna be in the room where it happens

This really made me laugh so that is No1!
    2. Downloaded the whole of Masterchef Australia Season 3. That will keep me busy for a while!
    3. Received seeds in the post from my cousin in France. They look fab.
    4. Invented new tea of a scrambled eggs mixed with fried leftovers. Turned out really well.
    5. Got home earlier than usual as we didn't have our liftshare person today.

Wishing all the poorlies well asap

    Five for Sunday/Monday
    1. Went out for lunch with a friend, good to be able to bounce ideas off each other. A lot of issues sorted out for both of us
    2. Didn't need to put the lights on til 6pm
    3. Cleared out the pet cupboard and gave three carrier bagfuls of food/treats to DNeighbour for her mog. Felt a bit off telling her I was giving it because I'm buying better food for mine from now on, but luckily she understood what I meant
    4. Went to a different vet for a second opinion, he was much more efficient and spent time explaining the illness, treatments, diet etc. On Wednesday he's going to teach me how to give mog her insulin injections
    5. Grateful I live where I do as we've not had any snow, it's been warm enough to only have the heating on in the morning/evening, and the sun is bringing out the crocuses. Some colour in the garden at last.
