Very very lazy morning with DD :)

Did lots of mental maths and spelling with her whilst cuddling in my bed, she was lightning fast :)

Loved McCulloch's link, what a lovely voice he had.

Nice chat with my mummy on the phone.

Spent some of my Amaz8n sales profits on fish and chips for our dinner!!

    Sold another DVD :)

DD and I had a good trip to the library and found some fabulous books :)

    Seeing OH tomorrow :)

    Evening

    Pleasures for today
    1. Lift to next town off OH so I could do the shopping
    2. OH picked up a mystery parcel from the post office which turned out to be some belated Christmas presents. Mine was a lovely soft jumper so very happy
    3. Weekly shopping under budget again and had some extras for the freezer but know still have one thing to buy, hopefully will still come in just under.
    4. Bacon rolls this morning, yummy and meant when we popped out we only had a drink out and didn't spend on food.
    5. Dinner was a treat of a steak for OH and L!dl special offer pork loin for me and DD with pepper sauce. All very yummy and lots of the pork left for another meal. Plus have another 2 in the freezer as were such good value.

Hugs to all who need them

Chicken - no beard on brother Frith! He has the silly double crown like me but all normal hair-wise other than that.

Here are my pleasures for today (Saturday).

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Cleaned! (Did nothing yesterday). Did all downstairs and 2 loads of washing.

    3) Babysat my sister's dog this afternoon so she could go house hunting. She made my lunch to say thank you so I had a salmon fillet, HM chips and salad.

    4) Chat with MrN in the garden. Then I had to text him with the name of a handyman and he texted back to say thank you. Very strange indeed to have his name in my inbox after 18 months of absence.

    5) Back to sister's after tea for a games evening so played brother in law at Stratego a few times.

    6) Home now so it'll be a 2 hwb and Casualty in bed night.
  • Re French wooden spoon. They had better... I've waited many years to see that. I'm absolutely thrilled that so many of you enjoyed John Wright, John so deserved to be better known in the UK.
He was hugely popular amongst Dutch and German folkies - Mhagster, your sister may have seen him as he kicked off his singing career in the Borders - very late in life, comparatively, he had many careers, including that of a shepherd.
He was a lovely person too - boy, is he missed.

    1. Rough night, so early porridge entertained by Mme Thrush rushing at all the Messieurs Merles. I'm putting out 4/5 loaves a week atm, all dice-cut. Rough oats, sultanas and water in pot is quicker than m/w. Another lesson learnt.

    2. Hugely liked what I heard of L'Ambrette, an Indian Restaurant in Margate and Rye, on the Food Programme the other day. Looked them up and applied for their over 60's dining card.

Today, mine arrived, just as shown in pic. I look forward to this as a treat to come. prob@Margate, when visiting the new Turner.

    3. New printer suddenly seems to have installed itself after all and today worked!

    4. Overwhelmed by tired, sneezing, ache-y, wilting, so used petrol, not Bus Pass, to fetch Guardian, more fruit and veggies, which I currently crave. No guilt.

    5. Posted h/w letters.

    6. Back in time for rugby during which I sometimes dozed[in nightie again and bed]. Saw dd of course - waved:-) What contrasting matches! 2 good results.

    7. Made a strange but delicious supper of pumpkin soup, braised little gem lettuce chopped in, with thick ham chunks and last slice of silverside in its yummy cream sauce.

    8. em'd Grauniad re:annoying change to The Guide layout and omission of R4extra schedules.

    9. Have brought hot milk and honey Thermos to bed. Found strepsil things.

    10. 'Spiral' is new to me - loved it! Well, I would, wouldn't I? Not pretty, but probably somewise accurate.

Too many posts since last looked, no hope of catching up. Too many pulls on my time just now. But great to read the last page or so, to keep in touch.

    1. Excellent training course today, interesting and useful and fun and sociable and FREE!
    2. Afterwards a leisurely potter round M£S on my own, didn't buy so very much (tights mostly) but lovely to have that freedom
    3. Delicious steak pie (hopefully horse free) from freezer, originally YS
    4. Touch wood, so far car's rain-induced fault has not been repeated
    5. First episode of The Killing on DSs birthday box set, thought it was really interesting and clever (NB totally squeamish so i was glad there wasn't too much visible killing or gore!)

Oooh The Killing - which series? I got totally engrossed in series 1 and the fate of poor Nanna Birk Laaaaarrrsen and Sara's jumpers. I am waiting for series 2 to come onto BT vision
Ampersand - enjoyed that episode of the Food programme. The disabling stuff put on the chap and how it affected him really made me think
Frith - you and MrN, sounds very civilised
Oh, Archers Addicts, did I ever tell you that I know someone who knows the mother of one of the directors? It is a very tenuous claim to fame! :D My real claim to fame is that I once babysat for the daughter of Ken Barlow (the real one not the fictional one!! :rotfl:)
Chicken - what a handsome man your father must have been :)

    So yesterdays

    1. Had to get up early and go to work. THe pleasure is that I woke naturally before the alarm and so it didn't seem quite so grim
    2. Work was alright, it was an open day and I think I've converted someone, who'd just come along with his mate, into doing one of our courses!
    3. Came home at lunchtime to an empty house so had an hour with call the midwife and the knitting. Guilty pleasure!
    4. Cleaned the bathrooms and 2 bedrooms while catching up some R4 programmes, inc Friday;s Archers. Is Emmerrrr getting sensible? Wonders will never cease. New Clarrie (who is old Clarrie) on tonight - wonder if we'll tell the difference? Oh and OH had done the hoovering :T
    5. Out for a meal, just the 4 of us. Mostly paid for with Mr T vouchers - they do take the sting out of the bill that's for sure. DD was having a "teenage moment" but we managed to get through the evening with no tears - phew! Bed at 10 o'clock, sober, with 2 hot water bottles. How times change!!! :rotfl:

Have a good day all. I am holiday planning, finishing the house cleaning, and going to see Hitchcock with DD.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
