5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

1.Got to DD's birthday party at 8.30pm just as it was just getting into full swing, lots of people, very loud music, bright flashing lights, beige food, much drinking going on
2.Grandchildren and their respective OH's there, was really lovely to have the family all together, with the exception of DS who was sadly unable to make it
3.DD and I bopped our socks (well, high heeled boots) off to lots of 70's & 80's songs, with many pauses for the puffer in between . A few sore toes from the merrier dancers who had trouble keeping their footing...
4.Much to my embarrassment I got propositioned twice. I would have been flattered but both times the men were drunk, a bit of a let down putting it mildy!
5.Very attentive young barman kept my glass topped up throughout the evening with iced tap water - I'd be a cheap date - and refused offers of anything stronger on my behalf. Now he was a bit dishy, if only I were 40 years younger
6.Lovely 19 y/o DGS walked me to my car and we've arranged for him to pop in for lunch on Monday
7.Got home in the early hours and managed to take my make up of and hang my clothes up before collapsing into bed. Would have been unheard of in past years, in fact I would have put make up on and probably be wearing the same clothes I'd had on for a week or more
8.Set the alarm clock for 8.30am this morning but kept hitting the snooze button then the off one by mistake. Woke up at 11.36am with a raging headache
9.Flew out of bed, threw the animals out, washed, dressed, dragged the animals in, threw their breakfasts down and made my lunchtime meeting for 12.30pm without breaking the speed limit. Their version, anyway. Phew
10. Got home 2.30pm, still got a headache and head feels off my shoulders, limbs feel detached from my body and I could sleep for England and I didn't even have an alcoholic drink – decided that pub 'social' life isn't for me, happy not to have to go through that any more. The worst part is I missed Dancing on Ice and had to wait til this evening to see who is in and who is out! I lead a relatively calm life these days, some would say sad, but I can happily live without the booze, late nights, headaches and scramble to do the normal things while waiting on tenterhooks for the next drink.
11.I love my family dearly and would go through fire and water for them but next time they have a pub party I'll stay just long enough to be polite
12. In my jimmies, just had a bowl of beef and bean broth, and will be up the little wooden hill to Bedfordshire very soon now (after DoI).
Sweet dreams
eta katholicos I love Eva Cassidy's voice. How sad that some truly wonderful singers aren't fully discovered until after their death.0 -
Sparrer, so pleased you had a hugely enjoyable time with your family at the party. What a lovely family memory was created for you all last night.
You are such a party animal! Lol!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200

Good evening all !
VJsmum - thank you x Yes , my Dad was a fine looking bug*er, I'm obviously biased . In his youth before COPD took hold ,he was naturally built like D*g the B*unty Hunter too - without the long hair though !!:rotfl:
Skintos ... you missed one vital question out ...."When can you start ?".
Frith -tall, dark , a farmer and beardless too(sorry BoP- lots of women do like beards ..and Pirates)
5 for today
1. Rain rain rain . Nothing for it but to stay in and bake .
2.Made flapjacks and two small nut roasts and gave one to my sister . I ate one which made me ill though- sister loved hers .
3.Roast chicken and trimmings for tea, with Mum and the tiny terrier. A roast seems a waste just for OH and I .
4.OH making the most of free listing on fleabay .
5.Watching the film Chocolat. Magical
Have a good evening all!
eta -Sparrer - sounds like you were the life and soul x Bet your feet were throbbing !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

1. Does that work? [Just fiddled with them again. Hope I've made them bigger]
2. Many lurgies about. Our Royal and Ancient Club of Gruel attracts members effortlessly. Porridge Variants MAY be admitted under scrutiny. This is in line with the Mornington Crescent Cross-Border Accord signed 29 February, 1968.
3. More light dozing during ruggers. Handling errors took it away from Ireland. Happy O'Driscoll fatherhood news. Good nuggety seesaw match and commentary on Box and Wireless.
4. Heard prog.woman tell David Attenborough he had just made her cry, as he engaged with ill, endangered baby rhino. I was already doing so.
5. Washed another wool blanket in order to let it have benefit of frost and likely snow out on line. Late afternoon, bitter, then back indoors, thankful to be warm.
6.Then prepped remaining Howgate Wonders with morning's orange rinds and sultanas. M/w'd while watching birds again. I never tire of this.
7. More bits of essential reading mes amis/amies[and I didn't know Deb.O was Will Self's wife] -

chicken - whenever 'Chocolat' is cited, I think only of this. It was some time before I,not a cine-mad, understood there'd been another:

2. Sewing with dd (she is 6, kit is for 8+ but with help, she did really well).
3. Got a few whoopsies earlier
4. A family game of Cludo which dd won

Babysitting fame claim - Duncan Bannatyne asked me to babysit for the children of his first marriage, when he rented a house round the corner. He has come a long way since then.
My niece was asked out by the Manic Street Preachers lead singer, James Dean Bradfield (she was spoken for & declined).
I appeared (silently) on most of the major news programmes on the day Tony Blair resigned as PM, as I was at his resignation speech and well positioned for the camera.
I was looking very intense and deeply serious as someone's grandkid in the audience was screaming and I couldn't hear what TB was saying.
Same intense, slightly upset/anxious look was actually used as the closing shot for the BBC's 10 O'Clock News that night. If only they knew...Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
bop-just went to close things down and found a photobucket re-welcome. Clicked it and again this:

This sort of thing is why I get so fed up.

I promise I won't keep adding on after this, which is truly a pleasure[didn't know it was on again]
