Only 2 claims to fame here. I was seen counting votes on GMTV in 2001 (or 2002?) when we had an Independant MP voted in. I have also run over Robert Plant (but only gently!)
Moving on....
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) A lie in!
2) Archers omnibus. I didn't really like the Lilian/Paul/Brief Encounter thing.
3) Went geocaching on my own using the new phone. Found one (took a while).
4) School friend came for tea.
5) Made a rather nice carrot cake.
6) Sons back from their father's and quite cheerful.0 -
Welcome back Nuttybabe !
Ampersand - ooh I had not seen that particular Chocolat before .
The famous thing .. met the cast of The Calendar Girls in 2011 backstage and had a drink with them ( and some McCo*s crisps) as I won our local comp. here . Feedscoop , wellies carefully placed moody chicken, no attire ....that type of thing . Been out with a few jockeys ..not going there though folks!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Loving the claim to fame stories, racking my brains to see if I have one- I'm sure I have but I just can't remember!
Never seem to get chance to pop in at the weekend so here are five for Saturday and Sunday;
1. Baking day yesterday, made mini pineapple upside down cakes, lemon drizzle cake and some coconut biscuits.
2. OH cleared the front bedroom. It is being adapted into a 'man cave' for him to play on his console without deafening me and giving me the headache. It's been in progress since December and he was being really lazy about getting it sorted, so glad it's well on its way :T
3. Office is almost cleared apart from some charity shop stuff that needs dropping off and some stuff of mums. No excuse not to get some work done now my desk is clear!
4. Writing in my weekly chores, to-dos and meal plan into my household diary, best thing I've ever made.
5. Grocery challenge still on track despite an impromptu saturday night take away!Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -

:rotfl:Will remember that one Chicken, even though nothing else seems to be sticking in my brain at the moment
Claim to fame - Emmerdales Michael Feldmann turned up at the pub where my wedding reception was being held (actor Matthew Vaughan was lovely and posed for photo with me and the now ex-OH.) He was a well known character in the 1990s ...honest)

4.OH making Pad Thai for tea.
5.Terrier met me when I pulled the car in to the drive way as she was looking out of the window at Mum's house waiting for me to come home .She has really settled in now:)If previous owners who had no qulams about getting rid of her wanted her back now they would have one heck of a fight on their hands !
Have a good evening all!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Skint - is it "and far away"?? Good luck tomorrow!
Yesterdays
1. woke up at 8 ish naturally. Nice to have my sleep out
2. OH and I now have a shortlist of houses for hire in the Languedoc. Just have to see which are available at the right price
3. DD and I went to see Hitchcock. Good film with stunning performances from Anthony hopkins and Helen Mirren
4. OH cooked tea - sausages braised in red wine. It would have been rude then not to finish up the bottle of wine!
5. DD and I sat and watched the Baftas and I did some knitting.
And Today
1. Woke up to prettily white world but with minimum disruption - about as good as it could be
2. Lunch with friend.
3. Walked to town just now and saw two cocker spaniels peering out of their lounge window! Too cute
4. Car passed it's MOT
5. Squash soup for tea - when I get round to making it.
Have a good evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Here are my pleasures for today so far:
1) Had a good sleep. Until smaller son woke with a nosebleed at 5.25.
2) Sons off to school happily. Nice packed lunch for bigger son with HM bread (for the sandwiches) and a slice of HM carrot cake.
3) Man finally came and thinks the heater downstairs is mended! I'll see if it comes on at midnight.
4) Stove going well.
5) Bowl of soup and bread for lunch.
6) Texted brother in law about geocaching this weekend.
7) Watching a couple of kitchen units on Ebay. Unused, £20 each. My kitchen is a length of work surface resting on some cobbled together units and just to have a double cupboard and drawer unit would be a huge improvement.
That's about it for today!0 -
Evening all
Thanks Tealady and Chickenopolis.
Mine for today
1. hubbys blood results came back clear
2. Managed to get a bit of cleaning done after work (and cleaned kitchen after tea)
3. Kids did their chores and extra and offered to do more
4. A gert lush whoopsie chicken roast for tea with loads of leftover chicken
5. Found a blog on one of the old style pages about someone who has paid off their debt in 2 years and now working on paying off the mortgage in 3 years, so book marked it and will read it when kids in bed if I am still awake.
Might start on blog now as kids being very quietHave a good evening everyone.

A collection from the past few days.
1. Aldi's special offer Gressingham duck crown for Sunday lunch. Very little fat, not the norm with duck, but lots of moist, lean meat.
2. Using just half a pack of £1 hair colour to 'do' my roots - my cheapest hair makeover ever apart from freebies. The rest, non-mixed, and carefully stored, should keep for next time in 6-8 weeks.
3. The anticipation of some freebies coming in the post. Books from Vine and a parcel from a MSE'r.
4. Having a periodic sort out of a storage box used for classroom teaching paraphenalia and coming across a large bag of small change that I used for cash handling practice in classrooms.
Now mostly put aside for the self service /Coinstar machine in Mr T's. I've never been brave enough to use masses of 'shrapnel' for the self-service, but Coinstar charges...
5. An early Valentine's card from Copper, the Dogs' Trust dog I sponsor. Almost certainly the only one I will get.
6. No snow, as yet, so no disruption locally either.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Evening all.I have also run over Robert Plant (but only gently!)
I'm very glad to hear it - I think my DM would require me to stop speaking to you if you did him any serious harm!
My sole - rather tenuous - claim to fame is that I once met the lovely Frank Lampard in a pub where my sister worked, not far from the Chelsea FC training ground. Given that our conversation went no further than 'hello' it's not exactly a thrilling anecdote!
1) Snow! :snow_grin Lots of big, fluffy white flakes which didn't settle, so we got the prettiness without any of the inconvenience.
2) Another NSD, my third in a row which I think is verging on a record.
3) Essay finished and sent off. :j It's a bit on the short side - OK, it's a lot on the short side- but at least it's done.
4) Making a sauce for a pasta bake for dinner, went to add a sprinkling of garlic salt and the top came off the pot. I scooped out most of the excess but it was still too salty, so I've diluted it down with some extra tomatoes and some water and it's now perfectly edible, and I've got lots of left over sauce to use for other purposes.
5) I'm shortly going to curl up with a bowlful of (slightly salty) pasta bake and catch up on Ripper Street on iplayer - it's utterly daft but I quite like it.
nuttybabe - how nice to see you around here again.
Skint - best of luck for tomorrow!Back after a very long break!0
