CCP Phew! What a relief about your cat. I empathise, it can worrying with an older animal
Chicken for some reason your pedalling reminded me of Forrest Gump - run, Forrest, run!
Thanks both for the comments about DD's dog, she breeds/shows German Spitz (breed name Liubice) and this is her first Jindo so we're all proud of them both
VJsmum you're right, it's not really a place for a lady to enjoy on her own but hopefully the hotel area is civilised enough for you to feel comfortable there. Just to prove how much we're thinking of you suffering in the heat we'll make sure we keep some snow just for you when you get back :p

    1. The snowdrops in my garden :)
    2. The snow isn't deep enough to cover the lawn completely, and has almost melted on the road. Good, go away snow and don't come back!
    3. 3 nsd's/2 npd's
    4. Cauliflower cheese for lunch, for some reason it tasted extra good. Maybe because it was fresh from the farm shop
    5. Miranda/Mrs Brown's Boys. I laughed so loudly that one day the neighbours will call those nice young men in their clean white coats to come and take me away, ha ha

    Sweet dreams :)

I Googled Jindo, I had a vague feeling I had seen a Spitz-type dog of that name and I was right, blimey. It's strange how such similar looking breeds developed right across the planet.

Jindos are described as having a good temperament, which isn't the case with all Spitz-types (thinking of Pomerainians here, in particular, sorry Pom fans,).. A really nice - sized dog, and attractive too.
Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.
  • 1. I've been in a weird mood today, I'm getting pizza delivered and have wine in the fridge for later.:o The pizza wasn't in the budget but it was get one free on Tuesdays so not too bad.

    2. I added some more money to my X-mas pot and have £40 now.

    3. My hands have been feeling so dry so I plan to put moisturiser on and wear gloves at night. I have had those gloves at the back of a drawer for about 2 years so might as well use them.

    4. Celeb BB is so watchable, I'm loving it.:rotfl:

    5. ???
    3. Warm food in my belly and lots in the cupboards. Again, one of the things that is easy to take for granted. It's so easy to feel hard done by with the cost of things nowadays but I really am very lucky.

    4. Ian the dog developing snow madness, I swear that it is a real condition! :rotfl: every time he goes out in the snow he runs round like a maniac, flicking it up in the air and trying to bite it on its way down. You can tell he is having so much fun. I was so happy just watching him :D he really is my baby.

I agree on number 3!:T It hasn't snowed here and I wanted my dogs to see the snow for the first time.:(

    4) I have a live mog - sounds obvious but he gave me quite a scare when I got home this evening and had to shake him awake. Given his age and poor health I feared the worst for a few moments...

    5) Squash, bean and chorizo stew for dinner. Despite being a favourite I don't make it often as butternut squash is such a pain to peel, so it always feels like a treat.

I'm glad kitty is okay.:A I know what you mean with butternut squash, I only buy it when the ready prepared version is on offer.:D
  • My five for today;
    1. Lovely, if slightly freezing walk with Ian.

    2. It's 'get your own Tuesday' which means a jacket potato for me for tea:j OH eats a low carb diet which means a jacket spud never makes it onto the regular meal plan :( but he isn't home for tea on tuesdays so I get my potato!

    3. Made little pots of jelly. The moment I opened the packet I was whisked back to my great grandmas kitchen, I was 11 when she died so had quite a lot of memories but the smell of the jelly was really evocative and the memory was so strong it brought a tear to my eye but in the nicest way possible. It was wonderful remembering the innocence of childhood... And I've got some yummy jelly to eat.

    4. Done the bare minimum all day and pottered around, really feeling the benefits of attempting conscious relaxation.

    5. Homemade soup for lunch.

    And one more,
    6. Ian just popped in for a cuddle, he's been wrapped up on his blanket all day. Very nice of him to move his bum and pay mummy some attention!

    Evening all

Blimey, RD, £40 for xmas already? Well done you
Frith - what a drag, re school drop offs. We now have to drive DD to school which is a pain - but nowhere near as bad as yours

Glad the snow doesn't seem too bad for everyone. Sparrer - yes i am sure it will still be there on Sunday when I get back :(:D

    1. A bit more used to it all today. Yesterday I was really hating it but today doesn't seem too bad, probably because
    2. Have more of an idea what they want. But they don't seem too - honestly the college is soo disorganised!
    3. An interesting moment with a 4x4, a van, a tuk tuk, a bike and a cow all wanting the same piece of road. I think the cow won! Luckily I was in the 4x4
    4. Wonderful garlic prawns sat in a restaurant on the beach, overlooking the ocean. it was only a fiver.. (the prawns weren't sat in the restaurant, I was - that WOULD have been a moment :rotfl:)
    5. Finished a book on my Kindle. It was "Room" - i really loved it. Started another one but couldn't get on with it - luckily it was a freebie so doesn't matter. I love the kindle.

Working at home day tomorrow :D I need the day to prepare some documents, so no alarm needs to be set and I can pace the work around funner things.:T
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Complete waste of time putting shovel in car. Noticed that the shack had tv in breakfast room, tuned to murdering nerds. Amount of humanoid robots watching screen about nothing. Sat other way and saw the second coming. And it wasn't snow.

5 Just about to sext the Lady Black. Text with luvvvies. Should make her happy.

4 Bourbons, but no cocoa. The room has that plastic chocolate drink, with glucose fattening syrup. Shame there is no real cocoa. Going for a quart of wobbleade and continue the book. I nose all abuts womin bits, blasters and other. Good read though.

3 Thinking of a dunk in bath. If I get one here, it saves on the water at home. How MSE is that.

2 More notes away from Lady Black.

    1 2 + 2 = 2 X 2 = 2^2. Well worth waiting for!

I've got the oddest mental image of a prawn sitting at a restaurant table, waving a leg to attract the waiter.

MMS - I had a jp, too - mine was with reduced fat cheese which I bought solely because it was on special offer and won't bother with again - it might be healthier but it's also almost entirely tasteless. What a waste of a good potato! :(

    1) A delicious and free salad with my lunch, courtesy of a generous colleague - he bought the salad on BOGOF, realised he wouldn't eat both bags before it went off, and gave one to me. :A

    2) NSD. I'll have to have a lot of them over the next few weeks as Christmas has left my bank balance looking .

    3) Realising that I've reduced my outgoings on my mobile phone and gas / electricity and have freezer / cupboards full of food, so I shouldn't need to spend too much for the rest of the month. :money:

    4) Cuddles with mog when I got home, which was a relief after yesterday's shock.

    5) Central heating. With it I'm chilly, without it I'd be frozen! My first three years in Portsmouth were spent in a flat with two electric heaters - one in the living room, one in the bedroom - an extortionately expensive key-pay meter, and no insulation: I never want to be that miserably cold and broke again.

Have a good evening, all, and stay warm. (Except mhagster and VJsmum - hope you both manage to stay comfortably cool. :))
Back after a very long break!

    In bed already!

Here are my pleasures (or if not pleasures, at least achievements) for today:

    1) Getting smaller son to the bus almost on time through the most ridiculous ice ever. The bus left on time (8am) but it took the driver 1.5 hours to cover 20 miles as nothing had been gritted.

    2) Getting bigger son to his school afterwards on time. That stretch not quite so icy.

    3) Back into town again and had my hair cut at college. Very short now and the tutor had a go at it too so its pretty good. They've put the price up though - £5.50 today!

    4) Sneaky cup of tea at Cafe Nero. I can justify it that I'm working towards getting the free one on my loyalty card!

    5) Sainsburys without children. Up to date with food shopping now and also got a new 13.5 tog duvet for my bed. Have been messing around with the thin duvet then a single one over my feet and as I am testing the new one whils typing, I can say it is a big improvement! It was a Slumberland posh one, 70% off.

    6) Put some salt on the ice where there is a slope up from our alleyway to the pavement and it was very slippy. As soon as I sprinkled it on, I could hear the ice cracking.

    7) Back to pick smaller son up from his bus then to get bigger son from his school then back into town again to see the paediatrician. Smaller son decided he would sooner die than be weighed and measured, talk to the chap or indeed go in his office. So chap came to talk to us on the chairs outside and was pleased to hear about the new school and the statement and is pressing for an autism diagnosis again.

    8) Stopped off for fish and chips on the way home and actually ate them at the tables in the fish and chip shop. Don't know why I hadn't thought of that before, it saves on washing up.

    9) In bed now and smaller son and smallest cat asleep in here too. Will give them a minute to get properly asleep then watch Holby City.

Frith - is smallest kitty tucked up under the duvet again?!? :)

    1. Low spend day - needed fruit and veg (and more of DD's favourite 'healthy' apple biscuit things, which are well hidden!!) and thanks to LV and gift card, I only spent 3p in real money :)

    2. Great day at work :)

    3. DD is in my bed, a huge pleasure for her and I'm looking forward to cuddles!

    4. Pretty gruesome, but her v-e-r-r-u-c-a-e seem to be FINALLY clearing up, which is a huge pleasure for me as the sooner they're gone, the sooner we can go for a swim and I won't have to look at her feet, lol

    5. First Rainbows and the girls were a bit crazy but we had fun

    6. DD's dance lesson, they were all brilliant (especially DD ;) ) and whilst the fees have gone up this term, it was only by £3 not the £10 I'd planned, so am feeling "rich"

    7. Lovely thank you text from friend after last night's yummy dinner, we all ate lots and really had fun chatting and being silly :)
