No tv day 15.
Found some light flurries of white stuff on way to work. And a BMW demolishing a wall and a golf canna drive over shoot the t junction. If you wait long enough, it rids us of the cannot drivers.
5 Artistic impression for the Golf, 8. A double back somersault. Degree of difficulty, 9, there was a bend before, so to get round this and then fly over, near improbable, but now proved possible. Technical ability. 0. One less car on the road.
4 Before you say so, she walked. Think partner may not be impressed.
3 Radiators on full blast, socks off, slippers on. No cat. He is at home with Lady Black.
2 Now for a warm dunk, in relaxing epsoms. I even bought my duck align as well.
1 Check granny, she will need a cuppa tonight.0 -
1) The antibiotics seem to be working - I changed the dressing on my foot this morning and, for the first time in weeks, didn't wince while doing so. :j
2) Finally got round to sewing up a hole in a jumper that's been there since September.
3) Snow! OK, sleet, really, but it looked impressive in the headlights of my car. :snow_grin
4) I have a live mog - sounds obvious but he gave me quite a scare when I got home this evening and had to shake him awake. Given his age and poor health I feared the worst for a few moments...
5) Squash, bean and chorizo stew for dinner. Despite being a favourite I don't make it often as butternut squash is such a pain to peel, so it always feels like a treat.
Have a nice, warm evening, everyone.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Both DH and I are coming down with a lergy - not really a pleasure but misery loves company:rotfl:
2. Work was ok a pleasure to be underway for another week:)
3. I kept mentally writing a storey today, told DH about it and I was dismissing it, he encouraged me to write it down and make a start, I've always wanted to write so well try, I feel motivated and a few pages later I've started err something.:o
4. This is a pleasure that will become more of one we have started looking at kitchens now I know that I should maybe be enthused, as I don't want to be doing this often, but finding it hard to get very enthused at the lots of parts a kitchen comes in and it really feels very daunting.
5. Just had dinner, rice/vegtables and chicken chucked together in a bowl and the remainder of a vienetta comfort dessert is calling loudly.:)0 -

Chicken, what a great tale of cycling watching the racing.
Such heavy going and so many tired horses, though. I did enjoy it, but not seeing a few tired falls, those always tug at me.
I tried to avoid Rishi Persad's interviews on Ch 4 racing. I wondered if he had improved having swopped channels.
Well, here's the proof imo - a sample from previous week as horse is coming back up the horse walk having won, Rishi asks the jockey: "How's he come out of the race?!" Er, try asking the trainer that sometime later next week!
His ignorance is breathtaking. Plus, I haven't forgiven him for upsetting Sir Henry C..
Rant over.
1. Before the racing my friend came over. She is a wheelchair user who had been confined to barracks all week - and strictly speaking took a chance in driving over. She wanted a meal from the chippie, not healthy at all, but realistically there is a limited time for wondering about that now, which is something we spoke about.
2. I have a beautiful park right opposite my house and we drove in there to enjoy our meal. My house does have a ramp, but it's a wooden one and too short for her new-ish chair.
So we sat with Aldi latte coffees, munched chips and watched the wildlife, the birds flying and feeding- blue tits, a sparrow (a rare sight now!), blackbirds, crows, magpies, a robin and a chaffinch. The park was empty apart from us.
3. House tidyish, and I keep finding things lost as it gets tidier and tidier.
4. My cleaner had put a lot of the things I use for cleaning right to the back of the under-sink cupboard, and I hadn't noticed, thought them used and bought more. I don't need cleaning cloths or pan scrubbers for the forseeable future.
5. DS got through the snow safely, coming on a journey of 100 miles across the Pennines from his GF's. He bought a lovely Nordic winter jumper with the money from his Premium Bond win and it's already arrived. £14 instead of £70.
6. Massive pan of lovely stew using up OOD veg, cooking bacon and frozen turkey leftovers. Tastes wonderful and means I don't have to cook tomorrow, having spent over an hour prepping the veg today.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. NSD
2. Good start to the week with packed lunches and breakfasts for everyone.
3. Watching DD and OH being silly together, sometimes think I have two children not one;)
4. RTC chicken thighs for dinner, it mean't a slight change to the meal plan but they were so cheap it was worth it.
5. The snow today didn't lay which made getting to and from work much easier. Plus I didn't need to worry about DD getting stranded if the buses stopped which they usually do around here at the first sign of snow.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
It all sounds very interesting, VJ'smum.
Here are mine for today. Quite tired and tomorrow will be much worse!
1) Managed to get up and drive through snow (5cm) 10 miles to get smaller son to his bus stop by 8am. Took half an hour to get there carefully. Then took bigger son to his school and sat in the car with him for half an hour until he went in listening to the road chaos being described on local radio! (Not particularly bad roads on our journey).
2) Went to the doctor's at 10 and turns out my sore throat/sore mouth might be indigestion. Seems odd to me. Don't think I've ever had indigestion, perhaps I don't know what I should be looking for. Everything else OK and referred to physio to have my hip put back in the right place for the 3rd time.
3) Phoned the county council about smaller son not having a lift to the school bus in the mornings anymore and they were really quite difficult about it. But then phoned smaller son's solicitor (about his forthcoming statement meeting but mentioned the transport probs) and he said it should be easy enough to sort out if they start being funny about providing a taxi. This morning it was an hour and a half's trip to take them both to school.
4) Phoned the garage to get the knackered CTJ thing replaced next week.
5) Went to mum and dad's for tea.
6) A new educational psychologist had come in to school to see smaller son (according to his home/school book) and smaller son in the bath suddenly told me that he had told this chap all sorts of things (he is a boy of few words!), all about how unhappy he was at his old school and how he was bullied (by another boy), shouted at by the teachers and the bloomin being made to pray thing again. This is a bit of a breakthrough for smaller son to be able to tell someone how he is feeling.
7) Now in bed and going to listen to iplayer in a mo.
More of the same tomorrow! Up and out too early for my liking. Ice rather than snow to drive through. :-( Smaller son's school, bigger son's school. Back to the town where smaller son gets on the bus for haircut then Sainsburys.
Home. Pick up smaller son 3.15ish, back to bigger son's school, back to basically opposite where smaller son's bus stop is to see the paediatrician at 4!!0
