Have been alone and bored today - all I can say is I'm glad I'm not doing an HND in Civil Engineering in Sri Lanka cos it's chuffin boring! And there's TONS of it - 37 hours a week for 3 YEARS. Pick yourself up, DD!!

CHicken? Where've you gone - hope your're OK

    TOdays
    1. Despite the booming disco last night, I slept well. Resorted to the pills due to the noise but they did the trick. Although they leave me groggy in the morning, it is better than the jet lag. GOnna try without tonight though.
    2. Two hours work by the pool - I've had worse gigs, for sure. Have done a lot more tonight - after sundown.
    3. WEnt out for lunch to an organic vegetarian cafe. I ordered avocado and tomato and rocket wrap, but ended up with beetroot falafel with onion salad :rotfl: was bloomin delicious though.
    4. WEnt for a wander through, well I was going to say market, but actually it is Main Street, Colombo. Feels like a street market though. I am used to the stares now and just smile at everyone and say no to all the offers of taxis, sales, shops, restaurants! :D
    5. Thankful to my facebook pals who have kept me company today when I was going a bit stir crazy.

Keep warm, folks, I'm gonna get mine on Sunday I fear..:(
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Do not let a gift horse get in the way of cheap food. You do not need an excuse to eat the emporiums offerings disguised as meat, always usea quality butcher. Ours only kills what he will sell. Now does the emporium do that? Same with the cheap offerings of beans etc. on beggars what they put in them!

Runt over. Evening all. And DD. makes the chilli burgers down Another Way at the New Lawn look even more delicious now!!

5 TV free day 17. Hard too avoid in some places, but breakfast room some one queried why I face away from the robotic controller box. Then understood and did the same. Apparently the reporters have bleated on and on and on and on, they has had a day on location. Wishes go to those who have lost and injured.

4 Got document ready at work this is the way wears going to do it, this is the reason why. It includes QnA's. We will discuss, understand and then realise my way is right, you will zip it. And that be it done. Got it. Oh, and the old way, offer the solution, not the problem.

3 See the quacks offering popping pills are being restrained. Iceberg comes to mind. 90% is under water and I do not give a hoot. The 10% I sees I care about.

2 Last nite gate crashed the Dog Squad and quiz nite. Would had got first prize, [STRIKE]I think granny would be better off in a home[/STRIKE] but just watched instead and tucked into mes book. Got even more interesting. Gosh, what you gals put up with. But really, I have a good use for them little bags in toilets. Holds me shaving brush in one, ducks in another and mes sponge in the third. No mess.

1 algebra, addition, multiplication. Well worth waiting four.

Oh. One more night away from Lady Black.

Edit, latest as spoken so softly by Lady Black, and then she says.

One the subject of no bull gets through and my current signitry. Apols to SPARRA for mes spelling, seems that amiss in current wave of bull, the show I always tell all, 'This is Stalingrad, yar?' as broadcast by the Germans from an office in Berlin in 1942, purporting to be live, the great bastion of the nations bull, apologies to & as it is her great white hope, BBC Radio 2 Sunday Love Songs has finally been outed as recorded. Well bu99er me. Makes you wonder what else that organisation emits that is not true.

For retrospective on this, see my signature.

Happy TV free days. Happy days, no need to worry about the weather.

    Edit again.

I did not realise how much rant I had and how I could end up blabbering like a good one. Anyway, where is our &?

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

    1) It was meant to be an NSD today, but we ran out of soap in the loos at work and I had to go and buy some. It's annoyed me for some time that we have to buy soap ourselves rather than having it provided, but this time I got cross and escalated my previous complaint - I don't know if my employer will now start providing soap, but at least I've been promised I can claim back the cost of what I bought today. :money:

    2) Having broken my NSD resolution, I picked up some toothbrushes from the RTC shelf, although I still can't work out why toothbrushes would need to be RTC in the first place - it's not like they can go off!

    3) More free salad for lunch, with some pork and lentil stew LO from last night's dinner - that was the third and last meal from one not-very-big bit of pork. :money:

    4) Reading some naughty but very funny horse / burger jokes online - I think my favourite was "has anyone checked the veggie burgers for traces of uniquorn?". :rotfl:

    5) Pseudo-summery meal for dinner tonight - as I posted on the "what's for dinner?" thread, I'm trying to convince myself I'm not cold by eating summery food. Well, it's worth a try! ;)

Have a good evening, all. :)
Back after a very long break!
  • Good evening all !

VJsmum- ya missed me !! pmsl re CCP's commentand the image of the prawn in the restaurant beckoning the waiter... for a finger bowl :rotfl::DSounds like you are enjoying yourself !

BoP - It makes me shudder . 100% beef means = 100% bol**cks of dubious lineage .Glad I don't eat minced beef or anything minced except Quorn ;)

    5 for yesterday

    1. Being unable to decipher the knitting pattern instructions written by my Mum and knitted something entirely different. The Tiny Terrier's technicolour coat wasn't supposed to look like the one I have been making .... :rotfl:I was knitting before I went to infants school and I was carp at it then !

    2. No snow :D

    3. Lovely sunny day

    4. Chinese take away

    5. Watched Marigold whatsit Hotel dvd - loved it .

    5 for today

    1. Hairdryer broke - glad I had my naff free travel one .

    2. Lots of 50p bargains in Mr. A ( except hairdryers of course)

    3. Got zillions of boxes of Fin*sh dishwasher tabs in poundland - stocked up for a year .

    4. Used some Bo**ts vouchers that I had for Xmas .

    5. Lent a lot of money to someone , because I am lucky enough to be able to do so and it is far more essential for this person to have it at the moment rather than myself, in the grand scheme of things- I won't go into too many details . Got it documented etc so that it is clear that it is a loan and not a gift.I feel ok about this as it's nice to help someone who is genuinely desperate .

Skintos - back to work tomorrow :(... for one day as I don't work Fridays :D

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Agree. Most are just fed a bleating diet of tripe. They believe what is written on the packet, without question. Same as at breakfast in bnb. They spoon drop jaw the tv in the morning, thinking it is saying something relevant. They never go on about the absurd licence fee? Go forth robot, into the world fed on your tripe. I will watch you.

And the other channel. Went from how you could get quick money to how you could spend on Internet bingo. And when that was enough, to calm your nerves, there is the physco killer phone lines!

Oh dear, wobbleades please. Help. I need ...
  • Chicken: That is a wonderful thing to do, and a lovely position to be in to be able to help.:)

Pleasures 1-5 for yesterday we went out for the evening, not a date night just out over the bridge to the lakeside centre and costco. We only got essentials in costco so means we don’t need a weekly shop, it was the same price thou. And then we were dragged kicking and screaming into the technology era. we upgraded the phones and finally got a pair of samsung galaxy ace2’s, on a great sale price, and prepaid for a year for both of us. Very Happy bunnies. Work promptly told me they are the “budget” smart phones but I have to say I love it really do love it. And I just couldn’t justify 500 / 600 each for a phone I would be completely paranoid about. The phone chap was in aw at our pre historic phones about 12 years old and well used as a phone and text.

Today as DH was busy taking the car to pieces in freezing temperatures, I walked back from the station which was lovely.
    Had a bath / face pack – me time.:p
Cooking as I type marinated chops, cawliflour cheese my first try at a white sauce so far seems ok and other veggies, feeling quietly confident my mild cooking tries are working out.:)
Researching the thousands of phone apps out there.
Halfway through the week already yikes and horray.
2 loads of washing on the go and the fake promise from the weather man of “proper snow”, sounds fabulous to me as long as I’m snowed in at home and not at work...

    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Day off so walked into town early and got stocked up on birthday presents and most of next christmas at B00ts sale:o
    2. After the mad half hour in B00ts popped next door to Waitr0se for a free cup of tea, much needed. Had a cereal bar with it that I had brought from home.
    3. Decided to make the most of my day off so went to Kingston and got the last of the presents that I wanted for the year. Only OH and DD some bits to get now. Got soo much stuff for very little money.
    4. Treat myself to a bowl of Bean and Pasta soup in Carluccios, very yummy
    5. Home to a lovely cup of tea and a piece of cake

Missmoneysave - I have a spreadsheet as well which lists all the birthdays and who we buy for at christmas. I have a column for all the gifts in the cupboard so know who I intend to give what to and what is spare/charity stuff. It scares my friend, she thinks I am very sad:o

Not quite as tired as last night!

Here are my pleasures for today:

    1) Managed the epic school run.

    2) Saw the pysch nurse and have been feeling better.

    3) Went to Special Services to talk about smaller son's future school. I have spoken to the lady several times on the phone and she wasn't at all like I expected! All very casual, "Yes, choose where you like and we'll give them a ring". Also lots of talk about his present unit sending a teacher with him to the new place/going part time to unit and new place.

    4) Smaller son brought some lovely flapjacks home from school.

    5) Got the stove going so it's quite warm. One of the rare times I've had to use the oil filled radiator as well.

Strange news today. Smaller son's old school that couldn't (wouldn't) deal with him is a tiny village school. Amazingly, a new pupil is starting at his unit tomorrow (only 10 pupils in it) and.... he is from the same old school! What on earth are they doing to their SEN kids?! So another boy is travelling half way across the county for his education.
  • ... amazing wot a couple of quartz of wobbleade can do.
