4. Reading the thread on household organisers. Got all the stuff handy and so today will be spent getting organised!
5. Gingerbread mocha-chino, homemade, cheap and oh so indulgent!
Hi MissMS,
Please can you post a link to the household organiser thread as I'm mad keen for getting more organised. Sadly this has so far involved spending quite a bit on files and folders but in a good cause and tax deductible.
Also please tell more about gingerbread mochachino, with recipe if possible? In exchange I will tell you of super fab brownie recipe on BBC GF website, made with cocoa powder hence cheaper than using chocolate, and really good! (I didn't use the coconut btw)

Evening all.
Chickenopolis - ouch! Hope you're not too badly bruised.
BoP - there's nowt wrong with a good drop of apple juice. As long as it's the wobbleade variety, anyway...
by all means drop His Marmaladeship off any time. He won't get tinned food here!
I kept referring to my DP's large orange cat as 'the ginger pudding' over Christmas, but he should really be a marmalade pudding, shouldn't he? Why didn't I think of that before? :doh:HOT OFF THE copy/cut/paste[Lightbulb moment!!!-CCP, is this the source of YOU?]PRESS - em just found:
No, it's not, but I like it! I think I would actually go for CAD (Ctrl-Alt-Delete - the combination for rebooting a recalcitrant computer), though.
Katholicos - I love your daughter's first aid box - what a fantastic idea! :T
1) Dragged myself into work and probably shouldn't have done - I felt lousy and, from the number of people who asked if I should be at work, evidently didn't look good either. It was all worthwhile, though, when a colleague started talking about a new cat that's moved into her road, which I'm 95% certain is my old calico friend who moved out of my road a couple of months ago - there can't be many cats in the country, let alone the city, of her highly unusual size and colouring. I'm ridiculously pleased to know she's still around and pestering her new neighbours for attention.
2) Kept putting off taking down the office Christmas decorations as I knew doing it would make me cough, and, before I finally got around to it, a couple of colleagues did it for me, for the first time ever. :T
3) Got some half-decent yellow stickies in W&itr0se - a big pack of my favourite Parma ham for a fiver, a very sticky looking butterscotch pudding for £2 (soup and pudding night tomorrow! :j) and some Indian snacks for tonight's fakeaway also for £2. :money:
4) Got home to find my first L&kel&nd sale order had been delivered and, when I managed to retrieve it from the idiotic place the courier had left it (honestly, how long do they think my arms are?), I was delighted with my haul of RTC chutneys, jams and Christmas decorations. :money:
5) Lazy night tonight - Indian fakeaway (from the supermarket but YS / SO), silly book and a naughty but nice glass of wine.
Have a nice evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
DD when I freeze d cream it always separates and won't whip together again. How do you do yours?
Fry one onion, chop and boil one parsnip, add parsnip and cooking water to onion, zap with blender stick, add good dollop of pataks curry summat and slurp of cooking sherry, bring to boil, switch off and add 3 cubes of cream. Stir till they melt. Absolutely fab and just the right amount for one.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Mmmm carolinerunner, you are a star - that brownie recipe looks fabulous!
1. Did a survey today and am looking forward to adding the LV to my MrT gift card balance for this month's groceries
2. Used the afore-mentioned gift card to buy yummy breakfast pastries for mine and DD's 'holiday' (one night in a Preeemier Inn) last night. MS or what - one pack was YS, and it was all in much cheaper than buying breakfast at the hotel.
3. DD's face when I revealed that we weren't going home, we were going to stay in a hotel!!
4. Fabulous talk at planetarium beforehand, we felt a bit star-sick afterwards (like seasick but planetarium wise) and learned a huge amount about the planets in the solar system
5. Scrummy and not very expensive dinner near our hotel last night.
6. Got up and went bowling earlyish this morning on the earlybird deal so we got 2 games each for the same price as one adult game after 10am! DD was very very excited
7. A lovely chum and her children came over for a cuppa this afternoon.
8. DD and I saved petrol by walking up to the doctor's for her appointment - thank goodness for the NHS, she's being referred to the children's hospital for a little problem that the GP isn't too sure about.
9. Enjoying Hairy Dieters with DD whilst drinking the last of my Christmas hooch!
10. Received a nice big paypaal refund from some clothes I bought and sent back, I'd kind of forgotten about it0 -

(((Chickenopolis)))
My five pleasures for Friday:
1. NSD and NPD.
2. Got the kitchen bookshelf sorted - looks immaculate and I've culled a few cook books along the way.
3. Sorted more paperwork, done more shredding, chucked out more stuff.
4. Nice mozzarella and tomato salad for lunch.
5. Found a recipe for a microwave cake in a mug which DS1 tried out. Worked very well and was fun to watch. I know that I'm about a trillion years behind the times but this is the first time I've used a microwave in about twenty years so it's quite exciting.I've now realised that when I have solved the problem of how to make custard in a microwave I will have almost instant hot sponge-based puddings for the DSs through the winter. Any links to reliable veggie recipes would be very welcome.
Sweet dreams

Ooh Chicken - ouch. Hope you are OK:(
CCP - please be better soon
Sparrer - you have to whip double cream in order to freeze
i am seeking light relief after spending a Friday evening cleaning the kitchen - see it isn't all fancy trips and holidays!
1. After a conversation with my very geeky DD, I have just spent a happy half hour finding youtube clips of Dangermouse, Bananaman and Hong Kong Phooey
2. Tidying and cleaning underway - our bathroom and the kitchen are done which were the two most minging bits
3. coffee with friend and a catch up
4. DS didn't have his tooth crowned, dentist decided to wait till the filling drops out.
5. Yummy chilli for tea - DS ate it all and asked for seconds, amazing.
Night allI wanna be in the room where it happens0
