carolinerunner I think this is the right link for the household organising thread on here (never done a link before so hopefully it will work!)

Thank you for the link to the brownies, all store cupboard ingredients so I feel a baking session coming on :T the mochachino isn't that exciting really. It was half a sachet of instant cappuccino, teaspoon of hot chocolate/cocoa and some gingerbread syrup that I received as a Xmas gift. I think it would work with a sprinkle of ground ginger too maybe. I top it up with hot milk that has been whisked with my 99p battery powered milk frother-absolutely the best 99p I've ever spent!Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -
Hope you're OK, Chicken.
Have felt very grumpy and tired all day and smaller son is very slow to settle.
Here are my pleasures.
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Smaller son's appointment with the lovely paediatrician has come through. We see him every 6 months and he has to pull the information from all the other experts together. Actually, nothing happens when he does that, but he is very chatty and friendly and smaller son and I have a cup of hot chocolate afterwards!
3) Septic tank was emptied. Not much of a pleasure as next door's booked it up AGAIN without letting me know! I did say something about that which is not like me at all. I usually put up with things (in real life) without complaining but it is quite naughty as I have to pay about £80 and just a bit of warning would be nice. Anyway, we came to an agreement about it and my brother is coming round in the next few days to take 2 or 3 damson trees down where the roots must be cm away from the tank walls.
4) Played cards with smaller son this afternoon.
5) Got bigger son to do a big chunk of his homework and smaller son did an atom of his...
6) Took Santa's grotto down. Have left the starry material up on the ceiling, though.0 -

Broomstick, I have that one up for BPOY already:-)
1. re:cream, sparrer. I'll ditto other advice; or just shake it about first. Not always necessary. Plenty of practice available after w8rose [STRIKE]£2,19[/STRIKE] 19p double velvet cream tonight. Dropped off 2 dozen to Charity for freezing.
2. reverbes are v. scarce these days, so 5p and 1p in Brick Lane and Commercial Street felt special. London ones especially do for me now:-)
3. Marvellous Spitalfields yesterday altho' Eeek start, 40 miles down M11 at 0330h, when I realised I'd not loaded trolley. Rest of aller journey thinking about running in and out about 40 times with stock, paintings, a couple of Lloyd Loom awkwards, heavy books etc.etc....but was able to get in side pedestrian entry and LOCATE A CAGE. Let me tell you this is Jewel Above Price. At witching hour of 8, 2 runs did it.
4. 60 traders not turning up meant Colonise, Expand, Empire-build, with M's blessing...did we!!! R, at other end played same game and he is a most affable, delightful chap, genuine charm. Between us we ran an entire 5-table aisle plus ends of, a.k.a. Our Isle:-) Lovely to have as neighbour for day. C. behind me, 22 years young, ditto in the neighbours' stakes. Gave me total intensive course on Vintage Levi's and similar. He was selling Big 'E's'@£140+!!! I will look from now on. Early sale covered outlay and set tone for day, BUT also such marvellous, interesting, engaging, lovely people, families. One of my prized, dearly loved survivors, an extraordinary silks-on-paper primitive English embroidery, early 1700's, now has its VERY RIGHT new home. 3 generations - grandma, maman, daughter[aged 9]. It is to become her heirloom, to hang in happy companionship above a Queen Anne chair, also survivor by happenstance through the female line. They stayed some time, bought substantially - the restoration group of Staff. figures found ex-X Hall a few weeks back, an intriguing old silver hand, now fashioned as brooch with a clever and unusual catch[ex-NZ box], a TS Kosta Boda candle-holder, sgd, with label still present, a London Olympics taxi, bnib,- and I also made an appropriate gift to each of them. It all felt so, so right. The feeling of this precious survivor having found its perfect empathetic place for coming generations is wonderful. Ditto, for the wondrous vicuna piano shawl, later sold to the trade, having been saved from ragging by self a while ago. I'm sorry for going on. Every person who bought could have a chapter here -all delightful and diverse in every possible life-story and respect. It is a day which will live long and remain memorable for me, from every possible positive standpoint. I am lucky to have been given my chance there, even if such a one never recurs - Thankyou, M.
5. Long, slow packing up, late because of late drifters through stopping to chat and sometimes buy. The kindess of M, usually as late as moi, this time ahead of me, who insisted on loading and running cage to car, unloading it while I finished packing, then doing same again.. I then cryptogrammed all in boot. It always looks totally impossible., BUT DOES FIT...eventually. It's the 'It WILL go. It WILL Go' School of A-for-Effort[a.k.a.bloodyminded pigheadedness]
6. Journey back and msg just as I reached my Make-Self-Stop point.. Rang back - chat & dinner demain soir. Très bien. Back here safe, bed by 1a.m.
7. Things that come in 3's = Kitchen chaos. All in one [Wednes]day. Dislodged egg basket as big coat caught edge. Uh-oh...what a mess 4 eggs can make! - followed shortly after by Casserole Cascade. Total! Don't know how I did this one, but it made stop-over on shredder on way down. One of those slo-mo events, where mind's eye sees it happening, but eye's mind remains powerless to impede progress. All over the floor, when not interrupted by washing machine first. Did rather want 3rd thing to happen asap, in order to have the trio done and dusted, the first two having been so singular. It came. As I took veg./compost bag out, it suddenly gave way, all down moi, dressed and ready for going out - included some really mucky stuff. I actually laughed and felt slightly relieved. The OS Pleasure in all of this. None of it was irreparable, nor has it left portents hanging about.
8. Banking.
9. W*rose cappuccino so much looked forward to and enjoyed today.
10. Hearing the full headline of this story announced and well-reported on R4:
'Voters 'brainwashed by Tory welfare myths', shows new poll'
This is the excellent piece:

11. Lucky timing. Was leaving CS just as man&daughter brought in some glorious books/ephemera/rare looking Stones recordings on queer dumpy studio cassettes, Beatles jigsaws[guess what & has to work at this w/e]and much in this vein- early Kate Bush books, Pink Floyd, masses and masses, much looking intriguingly obscure. Second thing I see, noting Queen album logo on the front, turns out to be a Programme!...WITH £2.50 TICKET INSIDE, Balcony seat E23, for a November[1975] 'Night at the Opera' Tour concert in Colston Hall Bristol. Oh, what a lovely night of digging and research ahead!

12...while crimson wool blanket takes a second wool cycle wash. This, too, was about to be thrown out....NO! I have been in denial over current top of bed mohair cuddly, obscenely attacked by moth during NZ time last year -dkw. It had been in post for years, inviolate. I will now let it go. Thankyou again to that Something Understood poem which sets much free, not before time, not just in the shallow manner this post may seem to indicate.
Quiet minds and peaceful hearts to all this night and for this week's end. Safe return mhagster - take tales of Northern Winter mild with you:-)CAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Evening
Chicken - Hope you are ok and not too bruised after your fall.
Well today has been a sad day. We had a call to say that OH's nan had died suddenly this morning. She had been really ill this time last year but since then has been quite well so this was totally unexpected as she hadn't been feeling ill.
Anyway see if can find a few pleasures,
1. My lovely boss who told me to go home as soon as I got the news.
2. Spending a quiet hour with OH and DD whilst the news sunk in.
3. Visiting the inlaws later today and finished up staying for fish and chips as no one was in the mood to cook.
4. MIL helping me write my meal plan for next week
5. Looking at some old ladybird books with DD that used to belong to OH and SIL. We knew exactly which ones were OH's as he is a bit OCD about looking after books, looks like it started young. We ded rib him slightly;)
Hugs to all who need them0 -

Oh dear, poor calamity Chicken
. Wishing you well and hope the pins and needles go away quickly
Tealady I was sorry to read your news. Thinking of you both at this sad time.
Thank you DD and everyone for the tip about whipping the cream before freezing, something I never knew. Just proves you can teach an old dog new tricks
Sweet dreams0 -
@tealady, i am sorry for your loss.
My 5 for today:
1.
Using a bit of workspace in the kitchen i managed to finally get around to putting my onion sets into modules.
2.
The dehumidifier that is drawing a heck of a lot of moisture out of my bedroom. The noise the machine makes is like 'white noise' and i don't mind it at all. Have even slept through it before now.
3.
The lovely potted plant that DD brought me for my bedroom, very cheery...it looks a bit worse for wear but hopefully it will be okay. Have taught DD to look out for bargain flowers etc at tescums whenever. She passes. We both get a cheer from having fresh flowers in the house. In suitable months i grow them, but the only other way of having them is to buy them, but we couldn't afford them at full price.
4. My mobile phone, which i located this evening...behind the cooker, with the battery out and the back off it. Hadn't known where it was for 24 hours! Goodness knows how it got there as our cooker has stopped working again and i Haven't been near it with my phone. Still. Glad i have it back again.
5.
Finding one of my agatha raisin cd audio books that i had misplaced. Now i can continue listening to them in sequence !
Hope you all have a good weekend!Grocery Challenge for October: £135/£200
