    Friday's 5:
    1. finding an unused £15 itunes card when tidying up
    2. getting to the bottom of the pile of c**p in the office - gosh my desk is quite big really when not covered in stacks of it!
    3. Watching a Christmas DVD en famille (Skellig, very good)
    4. A nice dry walk in the sunshine this afternoon
    5. My mum offering to buy new school uniform needed

But sadly my dad has flu and isn't coming tomorrow :-( So many bugs around, G'night all!

Early start for me today getting DD2 to airport for her Camp Fantastic Jamboree. She has been fundraisng, planning and counting down for 18 months.

Back at 6am made a start on my planting in my newly fertilised and weeded garden bed-

    Planted peppers,oregano,red onions,carrots,basil,cleamtis,heliconia,
    tomatoes.

Fed next doors chickens- no eggs today but the 5 random baby chooks are hilarious.

Tarped our outside laundry - we live in Darwin ready for the wet season.Only cost $40.00.

Meeting a good friend and her family at free the waterpark with a picnic.

Invite to the Girl Guide parents night out tonight.

Got a great book from the library that made me cry and cry tears of nostalgia and regret in bed last night.I am still recovering!!! Feels good to let loose every now and again!

Welcome annelouise, from a kiwi who knew a little girl by your name. No Napier NZ connections by any chance?
'Back at 6am made a start on my planting in my newly fertilised and weeded garden bed-' gave me a heads up, then I see where you are:-)
    Book title please?

    1. Bread and ends, wretched Hestonblummins[never again anything of his, at any price. I note lots left at w8rose hier soir, despite price savaging.] All chopped naicely and out for birds.

    2. Houmous on grainy toast, plus caf!, taken at kitchen window around 0730h, light off, to look out and beyond. Pleasing stillness, with radio on, perfect chance timing, for 'It's been a quiet week in Lake Wobegon' and a.n.other mellifluous, Garrison K. Unconditional love from me for this show.

    4. Again, pleasure of kitsch clock's blackbird song for 8 bells and blue tit for 9, chimes with above, listening, looking out, feeling okay about things.
Blackbirds, coal tit, wood pigeon, jay, dove and thrush[would there be tell-tale lift of tail while perching on the washed crimson blanket?] - not so far, I think. If she does, I'll have to fall back on it being the Good Luck portent.

    5. Using new toothbrush - huge difference. Really good. I do change them, 2 or 3 a year[retireds to stock cleaning duty], but this one is amazing. Whole mouth feels shiny new.

    6. I will go out soon, come back before too long, enjoy a rest, read, radio before ce soir and have a lovely bath beforehand. Anticipating this is a pleasure already.

    7. This, by Tanya Gold, not always a favoured Grauniad of mine, but spot on here:
'Plans to withhold benefits from obese people unless they go to the gym sit awkwardly alongside tax breaks for the rich'
[and Eric The Obese Pickles has to be the first candidate for more Tory do-as-I-say and be denied any rights, NHS or benefits of State until, under duress, he swipes his smart card at the gym]

    8. Enjoying Suggs' inheritance tracks on r4 right now.

    Good afternoon all !

Thanks all ! Shaken but not stirred ;)

Tealady - I am sorry to hear about the loss of your OH's Nan xx ((hugs)) to you and yours

Frith - I don't blame you -£80 is a lot to find without notice !

    6 for today

    1. Slept in :D Normally up at 5am - woke up at 7.15 which is late for me!

2.Mum got me a calendar for 27p and picked up the other poker set for £3.99 reserved in Ar*os when she was in town.

    3. Downloaded some free books on the Kindle.

    4. OH has trodden mud through the house as he is too bliddy lazy to take his Crocs (!!!!) off - I have left little notes on the muddy footprints on the carpet saying "clean up this mud", "here" "and here!" It would be easier to wipe it up myself, but why should I ?!! Pleasure is he is out at the moment and will get the right hump when he gets in and sees my "notes" :rotfl:

    5. Fakeaway Chinese tonight !

    6. Welsh National is on in a moment !

have a good day all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Tealady - sorry for your loss
Ampersand - love your posts, glad you decided to continue
Chicken - glad you feeling bette
    RD - £22 already!! WOW!

I read Skellig when I was running the school library at my kids primary school - that and Private Peaceful by Michael Morpurgo were 2 of the most powerful books I have EVER read.

    For today

    1. Bit of a lie in
    2. Getting more of the house clean and tidy - wouldn't be too embarassed if anyone visited now - as long as they don't go upstairs :o
    3. Tree down which isn't really a pleasure. The pleasure was packing up all my lovely holiday souvenir decorations and remembering again where they all came from
    4. Made my first ever handmade loaf of bread. And it was edible!
    5. Looking forward to roast lamb for tea and going to see "The Impossible" later with OH.

    Have a good evening all.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
