    Evening

Thank you all for the hugs and kind thoughts.
Ooh also love Skellig, we were lucky enough to see it performed by the Birmingham Stage Company (would recommend going to see any of the childrens plays performed by these) at couple of years ago was excellent.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Slept well last night, haven't been sleeping to well this week so feel much better for it.
    2. Trip into another town to do food shopping, they have Aldi, Iceland and Asda so managed to get some different things and stock up on some store cupboard bits as well.
    3. Listening to DD laugh as she watches a DVD such a nice sound.
    4. Chat with brother3 on the phone. His grandchildren liked their christmas presents. Also listened to an answermachine message from one of my SIL.
    5. Just found out OH's sisters op sounds like it was successful and they didn't find any scary stuff. Big feeling of relief all round.

Hugs to all who need them

    Evening all.

Tealady - I'm very sorry for your loss, but pleased to hear your OH's sister's op turned out OK.

VJsmum - very well done on making an edible handmade loaf. :T I've never managed it without a breadmaker - mine always turn out suitable only for use as bricks! :o

Chickenopolis - glad to hear you're OK despite the bruises (and the mud ;)).

ampersand - there's never any need to apologise - I love reading about your finds and sales. :)

    1) Kicked a yowling mog outside at 8am, went back to bed for 10 minutes to enjoy the peace, and was finally woken again at 11.30 by the doorbell. :o

    2) Feeling a bit better today, although all the coughing has resulted in me losing my voice (which some people may say is no bad thing ;)).

    3) Made a belated start on my next block of OU study - I should have started this time last week but haven't felt up to it until now - and I'm very pleased to find that it seems considerably more interesting than the last chapter.

    4) Put down the new, exceptionally furry sheepskin bedroom rug I bought at Olympia before Christmas: those along the south coast may well hear me yelp tomorrow morning when I swing my feet out of bed, forget I've put the rug there, and wonder what on earth I've trodden on!

    5) I'm now off to cook some apples for pudding and mull some cider to sip with my dinner.

    Have a good evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

    1. Low spend day - would have been a virtual NSD had DD and I not 'needed' stuff when we got a refund on a faulty item in A$da and ended up spending more than the refund ;) !

    2. Filled up car with cheaper than everywhere else petrol at A$da and managed not to snap my car key this time!

    3. Have found a book to trade in Amazon which will swell the coffers a bit :) Must look for some more.....!

    4. DD and I had a lovely afternoon watching Bugsy Malone, one of the finest films of all time :)

    5. Looking forward to Casualty on TV later. How exciting my life is!

    6. Have listed a load of unwanted CDs and DVDs on Music Magpie, now to find a box to put them in to send off. More money making :)

Ampersand, there's a Radio 4 programme about you! :j :j :j 'The little character that has quietly given joy to so many'.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b01gvlfr/AmpersFan/ unfortunately, it's been cut short by a few minutes - infuriating.

Can you tell me what you meant by BPOY? I'm sure it'll be obvious when you say!!!

    My five pleasures for Saturday:

    1. Discovering a little stash of 4 x £2 coins. I'd obviously started a £2 pot a while back and forgotten about it. Bit like squirrels forgetting where they'd buried food. I've now got a £2 pot going properly. :D

    2. Got loads more 'stuff' out the house.

    3. DS2 had his hair cut - the nicest yet. He's very pleased.

    4. NSD.

    5. Have stuck all my definitely do-able recipes in a notebook. Now that I've weeded out the dross and left myself with some good ones I'm quite looking forward to trying them out. I've also, at loooong last got the reliable recipes, including some from my mum, and the ones that I can work in the breadmaker, all stuck in one place. I won't lose them ever again. :T

    6. And an extra - the latest DIY SOS. What a lovely programme that one was.

    Sweet dreams,

    B x
  • Haven't had time for a proper read through but thoughts are with tealady and family.

    My five for today;
    1. Sideboard is put together and looking nice...it has been more trouble than its worth but its up now and staying put.

    2. Lovely lonely walk with the dog. Nobody about so it was peaceful.

    3. Can feel the medication, not a pleasure as its making me feel drunk  but can only hope that it is a good sign that it is getting into my system and in a few weeks I'll be feeling better again.

    4. Pizza for tea... A whole one all to myself :o

    5. Watched Disneys Cinderella. OHs mum bought it me on DVD for Xmas. It was just a magical as I remember it being.

    Hugs to all in need.

    My 5 for today...

    1. Having the ingredients in to make a really tasty, if simple, dinner today.

    2. The dog muzzle. Put it on my gobby collie when she refused to shut up barking!

    3. Heat rub for my painful limbs.

    4. My snuggly uggy type cheapie slippers.

    Hi again all,

I am turning up again, like the proverbial bad penny, because I have lost my way a bit and need to remind myself that life is good and joyful.

So here are my blessings for today:

    1. Knitting club with a bunch of lovely ladies
    2. Outing with DD to get her new bras after she lost a lot of weight. Got very good bargains in the sales
    3. Exceptionally good value delicious lunch with DD in cafe
    4. DH being very helpful and loving when I was losing it a bit this evening
    5. Lying in bed enjoying a bit of surfing on the ipad, candles lit, cup of tea on bedside cabinet and DH near me, watching a nature programme on the laptop with earphones on. Peaceful!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Hello, Caterina!

Broomstick - DIY SOS is a must see in this house and I did like the lady whose house was sorted out this week.

    Kittikins - Casualty awaits!

Here are my pleasures for today.

    1) Lie in. Have felt under the weather for quite a while (odd achey limbs, sore throat from time to time etc). Felt really quite ill at 3am and thought I'd open the window to have a nice breeze on my face and woke up this morning and it was still open - it was a bit parky! Anyway, now my cold is properly here, I feel a bit better.

    2) Brother appeared and chainsawed down 2 damson trees right next to the septic tank. The tank isn't on our land (or our neighbour's land) but it is absolutely overgrown scrubland and as I haven't seen the chap who owns it for at least 5 years, we just got on with it!

    3) Talked to neighbours who share the tank with me after our little disagreement yesterday and it is all fine now.

    4) Bigger son did the washing up for me.

    5) Almost up to date with housework and washing and cleaned the bathroom this afternoon.

    6) Went to wassailling at mum and dad's. It was my turn to put the toast in the tree this year (don't ask!)

    7) About to go to bed with a couple of hwb and Casualty! Got to be up early (earlier than recently) tomorrow because the window man is coming to give me a quote for the 3 upstairs windows. Hope they have a January sale...
