DD - just finished listening to the omnibus from last Sunday!
Here are my pleasures for today:
1) In the early hours of this morning, was pricing up a night or two away at a youth hostel with sons. There is a special winter offer on at the moment (£12 each per night inc a cooked dinner). It might be do-able...
2) Couldn't get to sleep til about 4 but slept well after that!
3) Went into town and had lunch at the Chinese buffet. :-)
4) Paid Christmas present cheques into the bank and into the boys' accounts.
5) Took a necklace back for a refund and used the money to get some earrings! I chose 2 necklaces in December so bigger son could choose the one he wanted to give to his girlfriend.
6) Went to the new super-library to get bigger son books for his art project (Van Gogh, and really must be done TOMORROW). It really is a super building and sons played for ages in the local history part with a sort of massive table like a touch screen where you could bring up different local historical maps and magnify them and so on. I used to write exhibitions for my job and I'd have loved one of those for people to look at!
7) Have given up looking for my camera downloading lead so have ordered one off Amazon. I can't even look at the Christmas photos or download one to use on the boys' thank you letters.
8) Tasty tea of yesterday's shepherd's pie plus garlic bread and 2 salads.
9) Went swimming with sons and my brothers.
10) Enjoyed watching DIY SOS and am about to go to bed and listen to Mark Steele! Apparently, he based one of his "About..." shows about my nearest town but it doesn't seem to have been broadcast.0 -

Tealady - best wishes to your SIL
I am trying to work out why they've killed off Bob Pullen and making such a fuss about it. A "silent" character like "my Freda". Is it cos Joe's now the oldest? IS he going to have left all his money to evil Will Grundy? Or help out nice Ed Grundy, the former drug addict? Have they got a new Clarrie yet?I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Dear, dear, dear. Chorning Muckers.
Back on the Pirate Ship and in hammock with the ex Lady Black. Reasons why later.
5 Short week that. Sorted things, delivered goodness and helped all at the salt mine.
4 Did not win lottery, so back next week. Baaaaaah.
3 Still TV free in twenty one three. Not missed.
2 Off to shop to get bangers, eggs. But of fruit and bits. Oh and last tin of cat food, so SPARRA, do you accept drop offs? Blessed tiger so pleased to see BoP, had to side sleep on bed last nite. Battle between the Ex Lady Black and the tiger. I left and let them get on with it.
1 In all the years we were in Hong Kong, the Chinese never took off the water or restricted the number of flights. Boycott Spain. They are sure toothing about the rock of Gibralter. And that silly tart, daughter of the killed missing of Argentina is rattling.
Now, for sale. The Ex Lady Black. For crimes against the pirate ship. Comes how to finds my account with the money launderers suspended. Eh. I nose, what happened. Yep. Tried to launder the pirate haul throw the site of desires. Had to enter mes card back number and got it wrong. Account suspended. I know, but she canna pay things from her account as she is always suspended. Now she has taken it upon her sens to use mine and gets it wrong. I see phone calls to money launderer and bank to get cards working again.
At least I see a lift home from the brewery later.0 -
My five for yesterday;
1. Great GP yesterday, did a fantastic job and really listened to me.
2. Slow cooker stew, easy no effort and lots of veggies so cheap and good for us.
3. A meeting I've been dreading has been postponed which will hopefully give me time to get my head around it and feel better about it by the time it comes round.
4. Reading the thread on household organisers. Got all the stuff handy and so today will be spent getting organised!
5. Gingerbread mocha-chino, homemade, cheap and oh so indulgent!Comper, Blogger & OS-erCompetition prizes: £6/£20150 -

TV Switch off Day 4, Bull gets into BoP No More0 -
Afternoon all.:)
I've been in a bad mood today. We decided to swap over and sleep on the different sides of the bed last night as I keep getting a pain in my shoulder and I wondered if it was being near the door.
I had a much better sleep but despite that I woke up really grumpy. I suppose the old saying about getting out of the wrong side of bed must be true.;)
1. Yummy lunch. I'm so proud of the fact that we haven't had a takeaway for well over a month now.:T We used to be ridiculous with ordering takeaways.:o
2. It's Friday!
3. Celebrity Big Brother tonight! I love that.:rotfl:
4. My new neighbours are back at work thankfully so they haven't been at home making lots of noise doing DIY.
5. My new jammies came today so nice and snuggly in bed tonight.0 -
bop i was the 1000th to thank you. Is there a prize? Anything with custard would do me
Going off to boo[STRIKE]ze[/STRIKE]k club tonight. The fault in their stars. Not bad.
1) finished off banana bread with custard for brekkie
2) hair back to glorious red. Has gone up 50% but £20 always seemed too good to be true for a full colour, cut and blowdry
3) OH gave me very sweet pressie - 3 little stone hearts with I love you written on. She's off to cinema with him tonight so may be guilt lol. Or it may be genuine sign of loving me but wanting to keep him as close but non-romantic friend.
4) backrest bought at l!dl yesterday very comfy
5) 4 bags to CS. So good to get stuff out of house. Next bag started.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Welcome back VJsmum, of course you were missed!
CCP hope you're feeling a little better, good that you slept so well, it's (said to be) a great healer
katholicos what a lovely first aid box, and how sweet of your DD to think of it
Happy New Year Skint welcome back to the fold
Broomstick I love Stilton, possibly my favourite cheese. Sounds lovely with onion chutney
Tealady will keep your SiL in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow.
DD when I freeze d cream it always separates and won't whip together again. How do you do yours?
BoP by all means drop His Marmaladeship off any time. He won't get tinned food here! Did you enjoy honkers? I have friends in Cheung Chau and Sai Kung, was hoping to take DGD2 in 2014 but she's working hard at school toward getting her grades for uni of choice, so we'll see....
1. The old Christmas tree and dec's went this morning to a very kind freegler who gave me not only what I asked for but a hm loaf as well
2. Replaced the loo seat with a new one which hasn't got a broken hinge - I've been perching carefully for weeks!
3. A nice warm day, managed to clear out the pots, baskets etc from under the gardening table. Got rid of the raggedy bits, tidied the sacks of compost (luckily well covered so not wet inside), and generally enjoyed half an hour's pottering. All is well with my world
4. Found a funeral director who will do exactly what I want at a price I'm more than happy with, including the daffodil decorated box. All settled in a good OS way (sorry if tmi)
5. Most of the dec's taken down, just a little left for Sunday as they mustn't all be cleared away til 12th night. I'm not superstitious but not taking chances!
