    1. Lattice fries for lunch, I had some leftovers first from this awful casserole I made last night, it was horrible but I didn't want to waste it so I made the fries as a reward.:p

    2. Met the new neighbour and she seemed very friendly, I said hi and was trying to shut the door on her as she was trying to shake my hand. I wasn't expecting a neighbour to be so friendly but I was nice to her after I realised she wanted a chat.:o:D

    3. I have my online order being delivered, it's nothing very exciting tea towels and the like, but I did order a cute owl money box.:)

    4. Some stuff went to the charity shop today so the house looks a bit tidier.

    5. I bought my dog a toy tunnel to play with but she is frightened of it so I was thinking of using it as some type of storage instead. I need to sort out where it's going so need to look at my wardrobes later.

    1. Nearly a no spend day but RevolvingDoor led me astray and I bought a book for the Kindle. I did have a voucher from Christmas though so still technically a no spend.

RD & Tealady Made me smile too. It read like 'a virtual friend made me buy a virtual book with virtual money' - could this be virtual blame? :D

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

    1) Phoned in sick again this morning then went back to sleep, not waking up until gone midday - that's all the sleep I've missed over the past few days caught up in one go! :o It was nice, though, and the sort of thing I can only get away with when I'm ill. ;)

    2) The nice lady on the switchboard at work told me to get well soon, which was sweet of her. :A

    3) The one good thing about this horrible cold is that I've lost weight as I've had no real appetite for the past week, and now weigh less than I did before Christmas. :j

    4) Had a second go at the L&kel&nd sale (:o) as I realised I'd forgotten to order a full-priced item that I really need. I've been wanting to get a pestle and mortar for some time and am rather pleased with the very discounted one which is now on its way to me along with the rather dull item I needed. :money:

    5) A free calendar in my veg box today: they send me one every year and I'm always grateful not to have to buy one. :money:

VJsmum - welcome back, and it's nice to know you had such a lovely sounding time. :)
Back after a very long break!

Many pleasures for the last week heres a few:

    5. drove back to mum and dads to see in the new year with them. Lovely evening with parents and DS

    6. New years day dinner cooked by mum was delicious. Lovely afternoon with rest of family chatting, laughing and playing board games and cards

    7. much shorter journey home as not so much traffic on road (although I may have got a speeding ticket from a mobile van at side of road :o was doing 71-72 :( in a 70 so will have to wait and see)

Evening! In one of my favourite places - bed!! :D

Struggled to be back in normality today - overslept and haven't really woken up.

    Here goes, then

    1. overslept! Must have needed it. Woke at 9.30 - MIL was about to come and wake me so I could take her to her train.
    2. Lazy bath with bubbles
    3. Did the shopping. Bought next years (I suppose, this years?) christmas pud reduced to £1.48 and a bottle of half price champers.
    4. Watched a couple of DVDs with DD
    5. Sausages for tea - very welcome change.

Oh welcome back Katholicos, and hello any new people. Sounds like everyone had lovely christmasses and new years. I am not a New Year person myself - all that "Happy New Year" and then you wake up to the same old sh!te :rotfl: I'd be better if I could see the year in at 10 though rather than waiting up. I went to bed at 10 this year and made a brief appearance at midnight on the balcony where OH and DS were watching fireworks. I don't really like fireworks either - BAH HUMBUG!! So I went back to bed!

CCP - really hope you get well soon.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

It's lovely seeing people reappear in one piece after the holidays! (Cheers, Skint :))

VJsmum. making an appearance on the balcony is most regal. :D

    Pleasures for Thursday:

    1. Got enough paperwork sorted to get a couple of important things in the post this afternoon (and DS1 posted them for us).

    2. Already had the stamps so I kept to my NSD and NPD.

    3. Lots more shredding accomplished.

    4. Unpacked and tried out the microwave we bought after Christmas. It's a very simple one. I had an empty cupboard in the kitchen (I'm boasting here because it was as the result of decluttering :o) in which to put a couple of electrical gadgets so we could make space on the worktop. Am looking forward to making sensible use of the microwave and saving some cash on electricity as well.

    5. Finished off the Christmas stilton with some onion chutney.

    Sleep well,

    B x.

Evening second attempt at posting as managed to delete the last one

CCP - Frozen grapes are lovely if you have a sore throat, very soothing and easy to eat.
VJsmum / SKint - Sounds like you had a great break
RV - My mum said thank you for leading me astray yesterday. Her Kindle is linked to my amazon account so she is happily reading SJ Bolton at the moment.

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Was able to get up a bit later than normal this morning as no packed lunches to make, OH and DD are still off and I had leftovers.
    2. Even though up a bit later still managed to get some washing out on the line, sort some of the ironing basket (carefully folding things up) and give the kitchen a quick clean up.
    3. Healthy but yummy dinner of grilled fish, veg noodles, salad and HM wasabi coleslaw.
    4. Paid some christmas money into the bank as if left in my purse would just spend on rubbish. Also checked the balance of the savings accounts which are looking much better than I thought.
    5. Finishing off the last piece of paperwork for the project I was working on last year. Nice to tie off the loose ends and know its all done especially as I doubted I could do the work when I started.

Just had a call from MIL, my SIL needs to have quite a major operation on Saturday keeping fingers crossed that it is what the specialist thinks and he doesn't have to do anything more when he operates. She has quite a complicated medical history so they don't know what to expect until they open her up. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

Hugs to all who need or want them
