    Evening

DD - Hugs to you and I agree you can't just turn your back on that amount of time and love. I had issues with my OH a few years ago and decided to give it another go. It wasn't easy but think in some ways it has made us stronger.

CCP - The Rose grape juice is yummy

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Bacon sandwich for breakfast
    2. Fun day out with DD at the Ideal Home Show (free tickets thanks to this site.):money:
    3. Also managed to get free tickets for the ice skating at the show, DD loves ice skating and had promised her she could go to a rink this year so a perfect freebie.:D I also managed 20 minutes on the ice without falling over. It wasn't graceful by any means but I got there even when DD was trying to distract me to make my fall and laughing at me.
    4. Lots of free samples of DD's favourite toothpaste, tissues, lip balm, coffee samples and colour catchers plus some candy canes.
    5. Reminding myself not to buy expensive bottled sparkling water for OH to take to work. I have been keeping the empty bottles all week and filled them with fizzy water using the Soda Stream that was decorating my work surface but not being used:o

Hugs to all who need them

  • Dear me Blackbeard, that means we have to be nice to you all over again!

    1) Did my mending as soon as I noticed it - but only because I'd been mentally tutting over someone else's trouser hem flapping. Take the log out of your own eye first!
    2) Had a slightly crafty day and made two cushion covers from some fabric I've been hoarding for ages. Then made a doorstop I'd promised DH and recovered two of the seat cushions in the kitchen. Lavendar bags for presents are underway.
    3) Poached and bottled some pears in red wine syrup too. It's a very home-made Christmas.
    4) Put DD's new bed together with DS. All the bits were there!
    5) Discovered an ice-cream that I actually like - T3sco Finest Belgian Chocolate with Salted Caramel. Fortunately, it was half price, because we ate the whole tub. Oops.

Hello , tea time here on a very pleasant and sunny day....yesterday was jumpers and heating on today it's tee shirts and windows open!

    1. Busy day at work but it flew by so that was good!

    2. nice drive home

    3. Staying up late last night to finish the library book I had reserved.

    4. Looking forward to roast chicken (cheaper to buy ready made than to buy fresh....and it was reduced by 10% and then got DD2 staff discount, with potatoes and salad for tea.

    5. DD2 and I had a sneaky ice cream cone when I got in....well it was hot!

    6. Laughing out loud watching Friends repeats .

    7. DD2 had a meeting with her year head regarding Fridays meeting that I had. She has said she will put this year behind her and start afresh next year( almost end of school year here) I admire her for her maturity, she is only 12 and just wish she hadn't had to go through all the crap she has this year....onwards and upwards! :)

    Have a lovely day.

Yes, [STRIKE]TILAMS[/STRIKE] has been rested. No More. Thought it did not quite sum up the Hugger Animal that those close to me think I am. No wobbleades were involved in the decision, just a quart of RUM.

Oh and Jenny, :heartpuls is still there!

    Five froms yestDi

5 Corporation buses and Sunday Service went well. Normal NSD, as it is wrong to do such on the day.

4 Quart quaffed at lunch, with stuffing and buzzard. Realisation I was in fact a bearded priate and put in the motiuon of changing, via deed poll, my name etc. Another quart quaffed and deed has been done.

3 Aspirin taken this morning, for normal medicinal purposes only, helps the Beta Blockers get to zzzzzzz.

2 Lady Black, the ex Ms Sonny, has a new station in lfe. She got Kings Cross playing Monopoly last eve.

1 Off work today and rest of week, so feet up and pieces opf eight everywhere.

Pleasures for today so far (Monday).

    1) Drove smaller son to the bus stop (10 miles away) in good time and got to meet his driver and escort.

    2) It was still only 7.45 so bigger son and I had a cup of hot chocolate in a cafe near his school.

    3) Dropped bigger son off at his school.

    4) Had my appointment with my psych nurse and survived. I didn't know they can hand out book prescriptions! So went to the library afterwards with my prescription for reading material.

    5) Sainsburys without sons. :-)

    6) Had a phone call on my way home. I wrote to 4 local charities as bigger son was not entitled to a free bus pass (his school is 6 miles away). It was going to cost £546 each year. One small charity connected with his school has agreed to pay for it this year! Very chuffed about that. :-)

    7) Smaller son got full marks for behaviour again today so is allowed to go swimming with his new school tomorrow.

    8) Cooked a big batch of meat and tomato sauce for freezing for shepherds pie/lasagne etc.

    9) Looking forward to baked sweet potatoes and chilli for my tea.

    10) Stove going well so nice and warm and will enjoy watching Uni Challenge later.

Not very MSE but have been pondering how to decorate sons' bedroom for Christmas this year. We normally only decorate the living room. I was thinking of almost making a grotto but have no idea where to start! Their room is 9 foot long x 5.5 foot wide and the only thing in there is their bunk bed and some toy boxes. There is a window at the foot end of the bed and the only feature is that the roof slopes up from the top of the window (about 5 foot) up to the ceiling (only 7 foot).

I've been having ideas of using nets of fairy lights or lots of sheets to make it look like snow/stapling felt onto the planks of the bunkbed to look like hills. I've never done anything like it - does anyone have any ideas?!

    1) eating left-overs stew for lunch - soooo delicious
    2) woke up on time, before the children, so left for childminders and work ON TIME!
    3) the kitchen shelf that I made, painted and installed yesterday from salvageable bits of the old bedroom ikea bookcase that collapsed, is still attached to the wall and holding it's contents !
    4) autumn colours on the leaves coming in to work.
    5) started a free form crewel work yesterday to use up some of my bits and bobs of wool, really pleased with it so far.
    6) meal planned tonight - only need spuds from the co-op on my way home. need to plan tomorrow and thursday as well be fore I hit the co-op then that's the week sorted.
    7) have 2 bags of clothes to recylce in the charity bins outside the co-op.
    :AA/give up smoking (done) :)

DD I wish you all the luck and happiness in the world. You're being sensible by keeping to separate rooms for now, it will give you both time not just to think things over but maybe start to court each other again :)
Thanks Chicken, it didn't go to plan at all but I learned a valuable (if £expensive) lesson so all is not lost.
VJsmum hope you managed to get some sleep at last
TILAMS, or BoP, or whoever you are today :p a junction too far, I stopped at 15! Btw I notice your spelling has improved no end with the new name, thank heavens for that, it was beginning to tax my poor ol' brain!

    1. Interesting walk with the dog yesterday before breakfast. (Again a wonderful sky, just sorry I'd packed the camera charger but forgot the camera!) Passed a bench on the promenade surrounded by empty beer cans, dog took great interest and I had to pull him away only to see that what he was sniffing was a knife with an 8/9" blade! Thought I should call the local police station and they were there in under 15 minutes, one officer said it may be what they had been looking for the previous night. Well done muttley :D
    2. Got home at 4pm after flying all the way in the little sparromobile. Made two hwb's and tucked up on the sofa with a fleece and slept for four hours then got up and went to bed. Tried to post last night but kept deleting as I was so tired I couldn't hit the right keys. Never again will I stay in a hotel until I've ensured it has ch!
    3. Woke up at 8am, warm. First lot of washing done and on the line
    4. Took some clotted cream to DD and a funny-named bottle of beer for DSiL. I buy him the (very) odd one when I see it, whether or not it's drinkable I have no idea but he seems to like it
    5. Just had a call from my phone/bb/tv company offering me a better deal which after humming and ha'ing they brought down even more, so I accepted :D

    Have a good evening. S :)

Hugs DD, hope everything will work out for you xx

    1. Low spend day, YS bargains.....

    2. Was overcharged for a loaf of bread, queried it, got the money back and a £2 gift card (MrA's) :)

    3. Managed to get free parking when I eventually found the hidden away agency I registered with this afternoon.

    4. Lovely chum took DD after school for me as I was at the agency.

    5. Volunteered at a coffee morning and had a great time, lots of lovely people and some sweet babies to cuddle :) Love cuddling then handing back!

    6. DD is nice and chirpy tonight

    7. Got the heating on, so am starting to feel nice and toasty :)

    8. Good chat to mummykins on the phone.

    9. Making hopefully yummy fruit cobbler for pud, first time so have warned DD not to blame me if its not nice, but to blame MSE as I found the recipe here :)

(update - the cobber was naff, just stodge central :( )
