  • Afternoon all !

Dundee - a relationship sounds hopeful then- you sneaked that one in at the bottom;) ! This is good news, some things are worth fighting for xx

Kittikins - I am sure that you will be able to afford the house - your resourcefulness is second to none.

VJsmum- sleep deprivation is torture :( Can you not shout STFUp in Korean out of the window?

Frith - I have a picture of your house in my head full of rustic charm and all that , please don't spoil the fantasy ;)

Have a good day all !

Bl00dy hell chicken - are you a witch? This is what I posted on FB last night

How am I supposed to deliver 8 hours teaching on 3
hours sleep? And if the people yelling and screaming on the street 11 floors below me at 5 in the morning don't !!!!!! any time soon I will not be responsible for my actions. Gangnam style my @rse.

    You read my mind!

    1. Not a pleasure as such, but gave up on sleep and went in the bath to read a magazine
    2. Managed to get through the teaching reasonably successfully. Was a bit afraid that I would get through today's too quickly and have little left for tomorrow, but am reasonably on target.
    3. The students are so lovely - truly some of the kindest people i have ever met. Someone said that Korean people are kind - I have seen nothing to dispel that.
    4. Managed to have an hours sleep when I got back (setting an alarm) so that I didn't feel sick anymore and could go and get food.
    5. Which was rather a nice chicken salad from a shop called "paris baguette" just up the road from "paris croissant". Go figure :rotfl:

DD - you have to do what is right for you. 28 years is a long time.

Fingers crossed for sleep tonight (actually i am putting in earplugs and taking a sleepaid tablet! I don't take them lightly as they leave me a bit groggy - but no sleep will leave me a lot groggy)
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Here are my pleasures for today so far:

    1) Waking up at 11.30!

    2) Getting up at 12.30.

    3) Lunch at mum and dad's.

    4) Sitting in mum and dad's living room reading the Guardian. They both fell asleep after dinner and now I know that the laughing in his sleep that smaller son does, my mother does it as well!

    5) House clean and tidy, fire lit.

    6) Sons coming home 6.30.

    7) My school friend coming round for tea in a bit.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Afternoon all.

Mine for the past few days:

    1) Waking up on Thursday morning feeling half-decent, so thank you VERY much for all your 'get well' wishes - I was starting to worry that I was going to have to cancel my visit as I was feeling so lousy.
    2) Lots of cuddles with my DPs' gorgeous ginger [STRIKE]cake [/STRIKE]cat. (When he curls up he looks like a very squidgy round ginger cake, albeit one with ears! :rotfl:)
    3) A few brief strokes with their tabby cat, too - she's very shy and nervous of people, so it felt like a real victory when she accidentally-on-purpose rubbed against me when I let her out.
    4) Persuaded my parents to come with me to visit a pub which I keep seeing good reviews about, and it really was excellent. (The Taverners at Godshill, if anyone's ever in that part of the world.)
    5) Bought part of my sister's Xmas present - a big bottle of cider which she'll like as much for the posh bottle as for the contents.
    6) Did my favourite walk down by the estuary and managed to dodge the raindrops.
    7) Stroking my DPs' pony's gorgeous fluffy ears, and having lots of fuss with another pony who lives on the same yard - he can't be ridden anymore and tends to get left behind, so the poor thing's desperate for any attention he can get - not that I mind as he's a lovely pony.
    8) Feeling well enough to risk giving my GM a hug just before I left - I didn't want to do it earlier and risk giving her my cold.

    And for today:

    1) Nice lie-in this morning - I didn't sleep that well at my DPs' house as it was quite hot and the ginger cake insisted on sleeping on me!
    2) A not-entirely-deliberate NSD - I wanted to do some online shopping but everything I wanted was out of stock so I gave up.
    3) A smoked salmon sarnie for lunch - it's only the cheapy stuff from L1dl, but it's pretty good.
    4) Downloaded my voucher for some free grape juice. :money:
    5) A grand prix later. :j

Have a good evening, all. :)
Back after a very long break!
  • Evening all

    1. lovely lie in

    2. warm sunny autumn day. Sat with DS for an hour in the armchairs in the kitchen with the sun streaming in the patio doors, just chatting, eating muffins and drinking tea

    3. ordered DS main xmas pressie online from Debnhams.... 007 mens eau de toilet (or should that be toilette ;) ) with free delivery and it comes with a free sample so he can try it & if he doesnt like it I can take the main bottle back within 28 days for a refund..... and it was 10% off today !

    4. still mild so the heating has been off all day. May need it on later for a short while just to take the chill off and finish drying the washing that was out on the line earlier but not quite dry

    5. did most of the ironing from yesterdays washing, and then sat catching up on my programmes recorded on tivo last week. DS is out for the rest of the day so I'm just warming something up for dinner later and no need to cook :D

Dundee .... I wish you all the best whichever fork in the road you decide to travel down. Neither path will be easy. The first time my ex-husb decided to leave I took him back and it wasnt easy to forgive, after 4 more years it happened again and I couldnt carry on, but I was so glad I gave it a second try... for my sake and the sake of our son I know I did everything I could to make things work. I hope things work out for you, I wish you happiness whichever path you choose. x

  • Firth, had to laugh at your mis reading there..
Chicken it doesn’t feel like I am doing a lot at all so not much chance of over doing it
Skint: Thanks it is a really odd thing to have.
    Broomstick: Your pleasures sound wonderful.

    For Yesterday.
The flu jab is done and dusted for another year.
Visited a BM and Lidls on our travels to the in laws pasta bake for 39p, and broken biscuits etc.:o
Went over to the in laws and had a lovely time they fed and watered us, and sent us on our way with car oil and a big bag of papers for the animals.:)
    Today
1.I entered some competitions, well who knows it would be a nice surprise.
2.Found a cheque I had lost, and looking at the 6 rather large and overwhelming piles of paperwork strewn around the place I wonder why, but I still haven’t tidied them up they are in a little room, taking up most of it but it’s for a day when the weather is awful... :p
3.Planted the plant DH bought me out by the pond.
    4. DH read about 80 mile an hour winds and snow heading this way, now we have a list of things to get when paid and he is busy fixing the new shed to the concrete.:D
    5. Meal planned again, defrosting bits for tomorrow, and arranging to pick the the freegle items I nearly forgot after work tomorrow.
    6. In digging out my gloves it lead to a clear out, they were in a drawer of clothes that hasn’t been worn in over a year maybe more, most of the items to far gone faded and worn for charity shops so I was ruthless and threw them into a bin bag, but when it came to binning them I had to work it through just to check but did it, all of it’s de cluttered a tiny tiny bit.:)
    7. Both DH and I working in the garden moving plants, around, clearing the greenhouse, we are hoping to get it working and underway to provide some plants and veg next year.

    1. NSD 100 :) Yay, I've hit my target

    2. DD's best friend came over for most of the day and she loved our church and the children's group and she brought lots of presents for us to say thank you! The silly friend and her parents, we were so looking forward to having her, we didn't need sweeties and magazines to say thank you......

    3. Saw lots of lovely friends at church and arranged to meet one for coffee during the week :)

    4. Had an afternoon nap as I was feeling very headachy again and DD watched a DVD and cuddled me on the sofa

    5. Felt much better when I got up so DD and I joined some friends decluttering and scrubbing someone's house. The mum is rather unwell but the family haven't helped, neither have the 2 very large dogs.....so I think it may be a regular event until the house is in a more habitable state.

    6. Looking forward to watching The Secret of Crickley Hall later. Looks like good Sunday night TV :)

    7. Got a load of washing 99% dry outside on the line. DD's friend did ask me why on earth I was putting washing on a frozen line first thing this morning but I'm glad I did!

Yep- little old witchy here :DVJsmum - I have visions of you going out like a light in a plateful of food or shark fin soup ! Hope you get some zzzz's in before you get home ( to a tidy house of course) ;)

    CCP - welcome back !

Sparrer - sorry that your trip was not as anticipated.

PK - your pets can read??? wow ;)

    5 for today

    1. A beautiful day here with clear blue sky so bright that my solar lights have come on.

    2. Could not stand the suspense - I gave my brother the metronome today and he loved it , saves wrapping it in Xmas paper.

    3. rtc beef casserole in slow cooker with Dauphinois spuds followed by some frozen mini cheesecakes that my Mum gave me ages ago . Fed 3 for less than £4 .

4.Laughing at Miss. Barker the dog "grumbling" at any animal on the tv screen - Countryfile made her very animated tonight :rotfl:

    5. Nice clean sheets , almost totally dried on the line - resorted to TD for 10 mins :(- the first time in over a year .

Back to work tomorrow - YUK !
