  • Morning.

    1. Birdsong in the garden this morning.
    2. Despite being quite dark, the air is crisp and fresh.
    3. MSE Breakfast made up of using up this and that before they go off.
    4. Reflections on how to do xmas this year. I don't think it will be as extravagant, well wasteful, as previous years. I've got some xmas magazines so I think some focused shopping/simpler stuff is in order.
    5. A dog cuddle.
:) Declutter 300 things in December challenge, 9/300. Clear the living room. Re-organize storage
:cool2: Cherryprint: "More stuff = more stuff to tidy up!"
Less things. Less stuff. More life.
 Fab thread: Long daily walks

Sparrer - glad to hear that you managed to nurse the car in to getting you both their safely x

    1. Popped into some antique shops in a little town near Kittikins and I beginning with L.

    2. Bought some kitsch 1950's ceramic bookends with Bambi standing on a log which are now on my light blue tiled 50's fireplace in the bedroom. The bloke in the antique shop couldn't hide his disgust at them :rotfl:Also got a metronome for £14 which are fetching rather a lot more on fleabay - again not the best looking but a good make apparently.Going to give it to my brother and his son who are drummers, saxophonists .

    3. My uncle dropped some game and corn for hens off round at 7.15 am . I adore my uncle , he scares most people though.

    4. Going out for a pizza with the Aged P , and OH with Mr. T vouchers.

    5. OH has made some prawn crackers that I am about to snaffle pre pizza.

Have a good evening all !

Getting mine in early as feeling headachy and tired (but will probably stay up late as per....)

    1. Low spend day, DD found £5 that I thought I'd lost so what better way to spend it than....

2....on apples for our friend's pony and a McD's lunch (she only eats fishfingers and chips with milk so I kid myself its just like being at home but without me having to do the cooking, lol).

    3. Bumped into OH's friends in the queue at McDs and had a nice chat and ate with them.

    4. My lovely friend gave DD a 2-hour riding and horse management lesson, bless her to bits! DD is smitten again and I need to reacquaint myself with knots and how to lunge a pony for future reference :)

    5. DD's little chum and her had a brilliant time until about 30 minutes after her parents came to pick her up. Trying to stop two determined cherubs from playing is nigh-on impossible! It was her first successful sleepover and hopefully she'll be back soon, loved falling asleep listening to the little ones giggling and chatting :)

    6. The beautiful drive to pony-owning chum, she lives not far, but in the back of beyond, lovely single-track lanes with gorgeous trees, horses, pheasants, ponds and the like to gaze at along the way.

    7. Got some YS cheese sauce to make a very easy cauliflower cheese for my dinner tonight, nomnomnom. DD will be having leftover pasta bake til its gone as the foolish girl doesn't like cheese sauce!

    8. Silly messages from OH on f'book.

    9. After me sending the stupid s*d an unanswered text, my exhusband has FINALLY got round to putting his pittance of maintenance for our daughter into my account. Not a pleasure that I had to ask him for it again, or that he hasn't had the courtesy to reply to either apologise or give a reason for being so flipping tardy, but a pleasure to know that I can afford to pay the bills now for the rest of the month! Grrrr.........breathe.....and relax!

Ooh chicken, love the sound of your bookends, I've got a 1950's light blue tiled fireplace in my sitting room :) I love it, and other 50's design bits like the amazing bobbly glass windows that I have between the sitting room and the hall. *sigh* Hope I can hold on to the house as I get skinter, DD and I are so happy here (but of course we'd be happy anywhere so long as we could be chirpy and loony together :) )

Chicken and Kittikins - I was always decorating ex OH's house (in my head, not literally!) as it was 1930's and NOTHING had ever been done to it. It had the original kitchen, bathroom, picture rails - everything. My house is pretty ancient but was gutted in the 70's and 80's. Apart from the beams downstairs and the fireplaces, it could be any era inside, sadly.

Pleasures for today so far (Saturday!)

    1) Had a lie in. No early morning school buses.

    2) Smaller was telling me about his stint in the "time out" room yesterday. (aka padded cell!) If you put yourself in there, that is seen as a good thing. It seems his teacher was "being annoying" so he picked up the time out card from his desk and off he went. The teacher sat outside. Now, this is supposed to be a SEN/behavioural controlling semi-punishment thing...

...except smaller son's most favourite thing in the world is to sit alone in his tent!

He told me he put one of the bean bags for his back and the other for his legs and had a little doze until the teacher realised it was no punishment and suggested he go back to class! :-D

    3) Have found him some shoe laces you don't need to tie (like the phone wire that you could untangle in the old days when on the phone) so he is no longer limited to velcro or slip on shoes.

    4) Have got lots of little jobs done e.g changing the beds and bleaching bigger son's PE shirt after I accidentally made it go blue in the wash.

    5) My sister popped round as she had ordered the wrong sized bottles for her damson gin so I had one of them.

    6) Phoned a local number to get a ticket for a skittles evening tonight in the village where I grew up (about 3 miles away from this village). Told the lady my name and she said "But this is Nerys!" and turns out I was speaking to my old primary school friend's mum. :-)

    7) Interesting letter in the post that smaller son cannot be excluded at the moment so I can't appeal yet.... I can almost imagine the head crying as she learned this and I know this letter was basically dictated by the Exclusions Officer (she told me yesterday). Well, poo to school!

    8) Just went to the cashpoint so I can pay for my skittles ticket. Nearest one is 5 miles away so got some of my favourite cheese while I was out.

    9) Nice and warm in here with the stove lit so I shall watch Casualty on iplayer when I come back in.

    Evening

    Pleasures for last two days,

    Friday
    1. Made a good start on the next stage of the project I am working on. I was getting a bit stressed about it but once I sat down and looked at it logically it wasn't so bad and got loads done.
    2. Free lunch at work as one of my team had forgotten to tell me he had moved his meeting. As DD was meeting me for lunch it mean't she got a free lunch as well. She got to fill up on Salmon and Watermelon two of her favourite things so was quite happy.
    3. DD stayed at the office for the afternoon as it was quiet. She managed to get quite a lot of college work done as there was no distractions.
    4. As got organised and put a beef casserole in the slow cooker for work came home to a yummy dinner, just had to cook some yorshire puddings to go with it.

    Today,
    1. Trip into Kingston with DD so we could buy a few bits for christmas taking advantage of a 30% off voucher:money:
    2. OH got paid for a job today, which meant I got some money off him that he owed me. Woohoo
    3. Got to use lots of vouchers in Mr.T today taking lots of money off my shopping and giving me lots of points. Also got some yummy free grape juice, thanks to this site.
    4. Was struggling with a present idea for teenage nephews but think may have found a solution for 2 of them which means they will get a really nice present for not a lot of money.
    5. Catch up with mum on the phone, nearly slipped up about telling her I would see her at Christmas but managed to stop myself just in time.

Hugs to all who need them

I am not sure about pleasures as I am jetlagged awake after 3 hours sleep. Have been awake for 3 hours now and have to get up in just over an hour. And am sick of people yelling and screaming on the street 11 floors below me. It is now 5 in the morning !!!!!! - Gangnam style my arris.

    Any road up

    1. Did manage 2 additional hours sleep yesterday. but have only had a total of about 12 hours in 3 days and have to teach for 8 hours later today. Not sure how I'm going to do it.
    2. The reaction of the students when they saw it was me - genuinely seemed pleased to see me (until i taught them insurance! :rotfl:)
    3. Nice meal with some students in chinese restaurant - all provided.
4 Nice meal with students in duck barbecue type restaurant. All paid for
    5. Learned to skype so could chat for free with family - lovely.

Have a nice evening all. I am yawning my head off so hopefully may manage a sneaky hour before the alarm. It would help.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Just eating me pizza, hand made by the lovelllllllly Ms Sonny. Wobbleades supping.

    Rugby, Hartpury won 35-21

And just in case DD has enuff problems, here is one for me to gloat at.

    MARINERS, MARINERS, MARINERS, MARINERS

I hear it ringing in my heart.

  • 1) Mattress for DD's bed came this morning, so we are putting the whole thing together tomorrow. Not sure if I posted this before but when I offered her old bed around at work, someone asked if we wanted a king-size memory foam mattress. Well, it fits our bed nicely and for the first time in ages, we don't roll together. Definitely saved us some money there.
    2) Brunch was left over rice and chicken from last night, so it was just a question of putting it on the plates.
    3) Went to my OU lecture and talked to the lovely people.
    4) Baked some mince pies when I got back to use up the half-jar in the fridge. Why is there always half a jar left? I realise I am making a lot of them recently but being gluten-free means that my own pastry seems very appealing.
    5) DS went to Pr1mark recently and got a bagful of clothes for £37, most of which I really liked. Especially one jumper that I have my eye on ...

    Have a restful weekend.
