DD. I know it’s a positive thread but there’s good and bad, great listeners with virtual wobbleade and calorie free cake on offer:)
I’m home from work after desperately trying not to grab the desk as the place started spinning great if I had had a drink, not so great when I haven’t I took a half day and went to the doc’s. They aren’t to sure treated for “Severe Vertigo”, and have to see how it goes for 24 hours, but I am miffed as I lose money if I’m not in.
1. Still managed to make a healthy chicken pie, it’s a small kitchen so I can lean against the sides.
2. Work was ok but I feel very embarrassed, and received some pitiful looks! I must have looked like a drunk!
3. Burning some olbas oil in a candle burner.
4. DH bought me plant from a garden centre RTC of course, lovely little blue flowers.0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Packed lunches and breakfasts all round again for everyone. I already had some lasagna in the fridge at work left over from a meeting yesterday, was yum:j
2. Thanks to this site printed off lots of vouchers for a couple of different things. Picked up a couple of free weightwatchers ready meals that will do for DD on the days she is at home or can take to nursery to microwave for her lunch. Also have a voucher for some free grape juice:money:
3. Yummy HM chicken chowmein for dinner with enough left for OH lunch tomorrow. OH was still hungry so made some chocolate angel delight up using the chocolate almond milk I got free from Waitrose a couple of weeks ago.
4. Nice walk home from work. Love the fresh air after being in the office all day.
5. Managed to get another load of washing nearly dried on the line and got most of the ironing done this morning though there is now todays washing to iron:cool:
Hugs to all who need them0 -
1. Got a free parking space near the jobcentre when I went to do my first proper signing on.
2. Went to the cheapy shop and bought essentials, oh ok, the shortbreads weren't.....but nomnomnom they were good!
3. Have signed up to another employment agency
4. Good chat to my mummy on the phone, good job I use a dialling prefix number to keep the costs down!
5. Great parent/teacher meeting with DD and her lovely teacher. Loved looking at her books showing all the great things she's been writing and making this term.0 -
TILAMS, I treated myself to a Private Eye sub the other week, laughed out loud as I saw the cover yesterday.
We had chicken in bag (M*ggi) , salad that needed using and lemon couscous, Chicken - I didn't buy it that long ago, but automatically check (and sometimes ignore!) use by dates. Date on pack was Mar 2013, so there wasn't a long shelf -life for it.
Been a bit of a week, got told some news about a former neighbour today that knocked me rather, not sad news, but news that made me angry with them.
Pleasures...
1. Phone call from DGS who loved his birthday gifts.
2. Synchronicity... Earlier today I was wishing Amazon would put a slow cooker on my tailored list of things to send for to review. (the Vine Voice scheme). I gave my old one to DD as I felt her family of 4 would use it more than I would, but I have missed having it.
Amazon put a slow cooker on my list... a good one too. Hooray!
3. Exercising my right to vote today. Got a phone call begging me to go and vote as the turnout was really low. People died for a vote, even if this was a different sort of election. So I voted.
4. Ald*'s novelty has not worn off yet.
5. Chats with friends, both face to face and over the phone.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." Don't keep things 'for best' - that day never comes. Use them and enjoy them now.0 -
Evening all. Not a pleasure that the forum is down at midnight but I really do need to get some sleep, was up at 7am and have just sat down for the first time today. Don't want to have to stop at Mway services tomorrow for a snooze!
Chicken I've no idea how to do links so a rough description is a soft harness that the dog wears with a short 'lead' which clips onto the back of the harness one end and into a car seat belt clip the other. It gives the dog room to move but stops him from flying off the seat if I have to brake suddenly. You can clip a lead to it before undoing it from the seat belt bit and leave the harness on for walking. I've tried it on muttley to make sure he's okay with it and it didn't faze him at all.
Frith pleased you're on the mend
OT a frill and a reindeer made me smile - not your normal ingredients for a Christmas cake
1. Tyres, water, oil, washer reservoir all checked and okay. It was just serviced a few weeks ago but as well to double check. Will fill up at a garage nearby that's giving double nectar points
2. Fridge cleared, most perishables delivered to DNeighbour, the rest are in my tummy. Tea was a very interesting omelette
3. Phoned to confirm there's a fridge in the room (in fact the hotel said there's a tiny kitchen attached the room!) for the dogs meds and meals.
4. Have water for both of us and made a sandwich for me, will stop at services to walk muttley but I'm not paying their food prices
5. Making myself laugh by reading back over the first 4, anyone would think I'm going to Timbuktu instead of a couple of hundred miles or so! And there's VJsmum flying all over the world like she's just going down the road
have a good weenend, sweet dreams. S0 -
Ah, yes, Sparrer but when you fly everything is done for you but when you drive you're on your tod.
And Chicken, I'm doing nothing on pedestrian crossings except get the hell across as fast as possible. The traffic here is MENTAL!I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Frith - glad DS2 is happier at school
Mine for yesterday
1. LO chilli for lunch
2. Rocky road cake at work
3. DH went shopping and manaed not to buy butter!!
He normally does and I have soo much at the momemt.
4. Voted in police election - nearly didn't but feel strongly that I should.
Only about 80 people had voted by 6pm,
5. Heating off until 8 o'clock0 -
