    Evening

DD - ((((Hugs)))) hope you manage to sort things out
CCP - Great news about the results
    Ampersand - Thinking of you

Pleasures for the last couple of days,
    1. Couple of days off work :j
    2. Not OS or moneysaving but went into London on Thursday and took DD to see Billy Elliot. The tickets were a bit moneysaving as got them from the TKTS booth so cheaper that would normally be.
    3. Spent the morning wandering around Covent Garden listening to a free concert and watching some street entertainment.
    4. Had the day to myself on Friday as DD had to go into placement so popped into Windsor. Bough friends birthday present from Molton Brown (had a voucher)
    5. Up early this morning as having a gas meter check, thankfully he arrived early so got on with things.
    6. Bought some yummy brisket from the butcher which went straight into the slow cooker and then finished off in the oven. Was delish
    7. Got on with some of the blanket that I am making. I have been a bit slow with the making of this one but made good progress on it today.

Hugs to all who need them

Dundeedoll - sorry to hear things are not going well with your OH. :-( No advice from here (my relationships never seem to reach long term lengths) but hope you are OK.

    Best wishes to Ampersand too.

Just a quick update from me.

    1) Thoroughly enjoyed my little trip out to get the new tiles. The tile museum was packed with people getting them in the sale! (On now until the 10th, for anyone who wants very traditional encaustic tiles).

Tricky finding 7 the same (piles of seconds, not many of each design) but chose in the end and they are different, but will hopefully complement, the other tiles on the windowsill on the stairs. Half price - glad I waited!

Driving home I was convinced all the tiles were going to fall over and smash every time I braked or went over a speed bump. It got to the point where I had to forget they were there!

    2) Did lots of paperwork and did one last big tidy before sons come home tomorrow.

    3) Nice chat with sons and 2 very sweet texts from smaller son.

    4) Just back from bonfire party. Feel a bit melancholy now because there was my oldest friend who shared a house with me in Notts, there were his brothers and cousins and neighbours and it was sort of like the old days. The lady who runs the bonfire (friend's mum) was a TA at sons' school for 30 years so another TA was there and a former teacher...

TA I could tell had no clue that smaller son has been expelled. She asked how he is and I just said "fine".

THEN.... the former teacher went into SEN work. I knew him vaguely and we were talking about that and.... he is the head of the department for the county council WRITING SPECIAL NEEDS STATEMENTS!!!! I didn't want to be too pushy but I mentioned my son and he said "Oh yes, I remember that one, we're waiting for all the reports" ! :-D Very strange but I feel better just knowing someone sensible is overseeing it.

    5) Thawing out in front of the fire now then a hot bath, hwb and Casualty in bed for me.
  • Thinking of you DundeeDoll and hope it is all resolved soon.

    Some for this weekend
    1) Swapped a couple of rooms around upstairs (see Hoarding Thread) and took the opportunity to declutter. The wooden furniture has had a polish and Mum's old blanket chest looks sooo much better. It was made for her 21st birthday and I'm glad she passed it on.
    2) Also decluttering the freezer. Lunch was a mixture of bits found in individual pots - a soup, a casserole and some bolognase sauce - with toast. A cheap eat.
    3) Celebrating an anniversary with DH. We went to see Skyfall, which was extremely enjoyable and I insisted on the 'cheap' seats at £6 (!) each. Then we came home for an easy tea and went out again later for coffee and dessert at the local pizzeria. Total cost of outings £22, cards and roses extra!
    4) Found an idea in my favourite magazine (C0untry L1ving) for a fabric wreath which might look nice with all the felt decorations we made last year. I love wreaths but some of them seem so artificial and this one gives me the opportunity to include some of the vintage berries I brought home when we cleared out Mum's house.

Can't think of another but that's quite enough! Have a peaceful weekend, chaps.

Big hugs DundeeDoll, look after yourself xx

    1. Lazy day in the nice warm house, feeling glad I have oil heating as I've paid for it so I'll use it.

    2. OH finally reminded me that he loves me after I had yet another rant, again about nothing in particular. I told him i thought he was just putting up with me as it was easier than dumping me. I think I'm going insane......

    3. Lovely chats with DD, who will be back TODAY :):):)

    4. Watched a couple of DVDs with OH, from the pile of stuff my dad gave me. Am going to watch and then sell the lot to MMagpie

    5. Popped up to the village shop and bought a YS bottle of wine! It was divine, slurp!

Oh my goodness, just sitting here listening to the rain and remembered I put a load of washing on the line yesterday and forgot to bring it in. Oh well, it will either get blown off the line (thankfully no "smalls" on there, especially as in my case they're huge, lol) or will dry eventually! Must remember to put shoes rather than my usual sandals on when I go to church!

Oh DD, massive hugs for you.
PQ - I keep trying to declutter the freezer, it's just that I end up freezing stuff rather than chucking it, or I turn it into a meal with portions for the freezer.
CCP - great news on the results
Glad people are enjoying firework parties. One of my pleasures will be not having to go to one :p When OH is here he coerces me to go but I loathe standing round in fields in the cold and the dark.

    OK - for yesterday

    1. Good time management for once meant that i cleaned kitchen, juggled washing, marked a dissertation, had a bath and still got out of the house at a reasonable time.
    2. Bacon and egg for brekkie
    3. HM Soup for lunch - from the freezer LOL
    4. Chinese buffet with DD for tea - really nice and really good value. Chinese doesn't really agree with me, but I think they must use less MSG these days as I seem to be able to get away with it more.
    5. Blood brothers at Birmingham Hippodrome - superb, and with the sublime Mr Marty Pellow.

Have a good day all - mine's a busy one again.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Back again....
    1. Though I woke far too early I made myself stay in bed and dozed off again. Got up at a reasonable time. Tidied up ( left dishes in a basin outside DSs room as he had been asked to do them last night ( one of his chores is to do dishwasher) and yet again he hadn't!!.......they were done when I came back in later.

2.went out to get photos of son in kilt developed. Picked up a few pieces for Christmas . Did not go to food court....which was money saving!

3.we all went on the wii fit for first time in ages......OH laughed as I was 47 ( I'm 43)...... Oh how I laughed when he was 60! Then we redid the test and I was 41 and he was 46.....need to get back into the swing of using it again!

4.we all went out for dinner to a local pizzeria, we were first in and I'm glad we were as it got very busy . The portions are huge and I brought a doggy bag home. We went to mc donal*s after and had an ic cream for pudding....5for $1.50

5.T'esco have started delivering clothing to Australia and until tonight it's free delivery. So I managed to grab some bargains in the sale, order dresses for me and girls for upcoming events and some stuff for OH at a lot less than we would pay here for a couple of things. ......every little helps!

    Dundee (((massive hugs)))

i was with my ex-hus 15 years when he told me on valentines day 2004 that he was leaving :( He wanted a divorce but there were no grounds under unreasonable behaviour and he wouldnt admit to adultery so had to wait for 2 years seperation and then go through the divorce which brought up all the upset again. It took me a long time to "get over it" but I can think about him now without pain, and remember some of the good times.

I hope things can be resolved more speedily and amicably for you, the pain does ease and the support and love of your family will help x
