    Evening all.

Frith - for creatures that don't like to be laughed at, cats can do some very daft things, can't they!

sparrer - if the dog's that ill then I think it would be a good idea to take the vet with you on holiday - purely for muttley's benefit, of course. ;)

VJsmum - I hope your quiz went well, or at least better than mine - my team was several points away from even a minor prize. :(

    1) Had proof that the results of those customer service questionnaires you get given by supermarkets are actually read, at least in some cases: I saw / heard the manager of one local shop trying to explain to a group of suits why the entrance is blocked by displays, something I've repeatedly complained about as it makes getting in and out very awkward, and practically impossible for anyone with a disability.

    2) Treated myself to the M&$ pizza meal deal, so my freezer is now full of pizza and garlic bread. :money:

    3) Made a good start on my essay - I've done about a third of it tonight. :j (As you might guess, it's a very short essay! ;))

    4) Central heating. Maybe not an OS pleasure, but certainly a pleasure, particularly when combined with a cat and a fleecy blanket. :)

    5) Pizza for dinner tonight, with a nice glass or two of wobbleade.

Have a nice evening, all, and stay warm!
Back after a very long break!

    My five for Friday:

    1. Clean sheets on the bed.

    2. Having a very life-affirming chat with a friend about simple living - some good memories too.

    3. Delaying going and doing something by ten minutes just so that I could sit in the car in the sunshine listening to the end of a radio programme I was enjoying. I didn't need to rush so I didn't.:)

    4. Listening to DS1 giving an individual lesson to one of his young pupils. He was giving her loads of affirmation and positive feedback - lovely to hear.

    5. Watching 'Amazing Spaces' on 4od - all sorts of creative and relatively cheap ideas.

    Sweet dreams

Frith - hope you got a photo of the cat in the trainers, not quite Puss in Boots, lol!

DundeeDoll - hope you slept well eventually or, if you can, have a nice afternoon nap today x

    Yesterday.........

    1. Got into the office and found some lovely little presents awaiting me.

    2. Am going to reuse the pretty little buttons scattered around the presents like confetti to make DD a birthday present (not Xmas as she has enough already, I like to plan ahead ;) )

    3. Went out to lunch with team and boss paid on his card, normally we have to self-fund things like this!

    4. Generous practical presents - John Lewis and WHSmith vouchers :) Much better for me than a bunch of flowers, I like stylish yet functional gifts, i.e. a fruit tree would go down better than flowers, lasts longer, gives me fruit etc.

    5. OH and I went to the cinema to see Skyfall, very good, if it's not an oxymoron to say this, it was more realistic than other Bond films, being mainly set in the UK.

    6. Yummy dinner of.....yup, leftover baked potatoes and OH had leftover meaty chilli made by my friend.

    7. Slept well, only got up about half an hour ago, most unlike me!

    8. 'Won' a gorgeous dress for DD's final Xmas pressie, the dress she traditionally gets beside her stocking on the morning, for a price I was very happy to pay.
