  • Thanks everyone - I will spend the day packing and flapping ;) Buffed, plucked and bronzed now like a turkey (with stinky fox poo fake bake ). Waiting for it to dry as I type .

Sparrer - sorry to hear that the car failed . That MOT testing time gets the adrenaline going no end . Sparrer I am packing and thinking of you as I am taking lots of samples that I have squirrelled away which are an ideal size to take on holiday. You are the Queen of Samples after all;)

mhagster - it seems like 5 minutes ago when you were "back home " !

    Have a good day all

    Here's mine so far:

    1. My car passed its MOT!!! (already cost us a bit for the stuff we knew was due).

    2. I now have the rest of the day to please myself rather than trying to get the car sorted!!

Actually, I think I don't need 5 today - 2 is enough since I feel so very relieved!!
working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?

Happy All Saints Day. The day we bake and steam the Christmas cake and puds. Just in town to get eggs from butcher, local free range, apols turkey!!!, £1.15p, for pud and cake and had my first real pleasure of the day. The door to the co-op, the one I mentioned last night, has been stoved in. Well, I could not be happier, as they purveyed their evilness yesterday, and if you act like evil, you get evil. Just proves there is a higher thing than corporate greed acted out by these emporiums.

House smells like a distillery now, and the cat is loving it.

Thanks Chicken, am very bruised in the wallet atm as I've just taken a rather poorly dog to the vet and the initial appt cost just under £70, with more to follow :(. Now if the car had been £70 and the dog £500 I wouldn't have minded in the least - priorities, eh? A tip to bring something back if you're staying in a hotel, I use the shower caps for food covers in the fridge ;). Not suitable for the mw of course because of the plastic but fine for bowls/plates of left-overs etc. Have a really brilliant time, lots of r & r, anyone who does your type of work deserves it

TILAMS you can keep your wobbleaid, I have amazing recipes for alcohol free pud, cake and mince pies which are just as rich and delish :p

Congrats newlywed, so pleased to hear someone had a success with their MoT :T

mhags you have 50 days to knit yourself some woolie pullies, it's getting darned cold now!

Right, lunch over, ironing to tackle. Bleugghhh!

    5 to follow x

eta OT the vet has a huge cage with three adorable kittens, all skittish and vocal and very funny to watch. Mind out TILAMS mog, you have competition!

5 pleasures for Thursday so far.

    1) Lie in.

    2) Survived another bout with my psych nurse.

    3) Popped to Sainsburys with no children.

    4) Lovely hot pork rolls from the village butchers for my late lunch.

    5) Very helpful and informative chat with the Exclusions Officer. I've alway found her a bit washy washy but not today! I think she was on the phone for 45 minutes and the 10 minutes or so of her tearing a strip out of smaller son's school made me smile.

If he is successful in getting a SEN statement (not much doubt about that) then his exclusion will be wiped from his record as it will no longer be "his fault" he was excluded.

AND.... they have found him a school! It is a 10 child short stay school specialising in social and behavioural difficulties and the Ofsted reports and all the literature I can find about it say it is marvellous academically and socially. I have already met 2 members of staff from there who smaller son's present Head called in in desparation and they were very pleasant.

Due to the recent cuts it is now the only suitable place in the county and nearly an hour away :-( But she has arranged a taxi. I did mention to smaller son the other day that he might have to have a taxi ride and he was over the moon. :-)

    6) Got lots of little jobs done like posting my friend's birthday present, tidying up etc.

    7) Going to have a nice bath now.

    8) Off to see my brother who will be cooking my tea for me.
  • The Birth weight of the cake is:

    7lb 5oz
