    Have a great holiday Chicken.
Frith, that's really good news about the school (shame about the distance but if the taxi is an added bonus for him that might work out well)
Sparrer, when I am an old woman (fast approaching) I want to get a campervan too and I want to find nice beaches where I can light a fire to cook supper while watching the sunset.:D

    My five for Thursday:

    1. It's been so cold trying to work in a room with a stone floor that I've gone and blown some cash and ordered a slanket. Never thought I would. (It will come in useful when I'm sitting watching sunsets on the beach in a few years time :D)

    2. Laughing lots on the phone with a friend.

    3. Being sent a replacement for a poorly constructed book rest that I had been planning on giving as a present. It looks as if the firm won't want the original back so we seem to have acquired it as a freebie. It's asymmetrical but we can live with that.:)

    4. Have been experimenting with the dehumidifier that we've got on loan. It seems to be extracting lots of water from the kitchen air so that seems to be the solution to me having to dry loads of sports kit in there through the winter. Feel lots less panicked now about the idea of prolonged bad weather.

    5. Fish, mash and salad for supper. It was exactly what I fancied.

    Sweet dreams

    1. Part-registered with another agency for TA work, annoyingly I will need another CRB certificate, but ho hum.....5 is a nice round number ;)

    2. Went down to Brighton for a lovely haircut, complete with 20% discount, and the hairdresser has given me 20% off for next time as well :)

    3. Treated myself to an eyebrow threading, ouch! but I can see now, lol

    4. OH is getting us tickets to see Skyfall tomorrow night :)

    5. Was given the most amazing cake at work to celebrate leaving the office tomorrow. We all had a slice and I took the remainder to my church group tonight.

    6. Lovely chats to DD on the phone

    7. Popped over to friend who I had dinner with last night and came away with a billion baked potatoes for the freezer and the remainder (loads) of veggie chilli as she was going to, yup, throw them away....!!

    8. YS bread and cheese in MrW's tonight.

    9. Naughty treat - bought myself two gorgeous pairs of knee high stripey socks and some much needed mascara :) Will need to clamp the purse tightly shut now though!

    10. Quote has come through from builder to fit kitchen and it's not as scary as I was anticipating, yay!
  • Wanted to pop on and say have a fantastic holiday Chickenopolis.:)

Hurrah for Friday. This has been a quick week.
KittikinsI hope you have a lovely final day, I'm sure you'll have mixed emotions but onwards and upwards my girl :)

    1. I suppose first one has to be it is Friday. 7 more to go until we come home.

2.saw some beautiful birds today as I walked from carpark to work. Have not been chased by ducks for 3 days....always a bonus!

    3. Home! Kids and I had a quick tidy up. I sorted shoe cupboard out, so have a pile for throwing out, they are beyond redemption. I am trying to declutter( not that I'm particularly a hoarder ) but stuff can gather if I don't keep on top of it!

    4. Kilt arrived! We had ordered a kilt for son's leaving school dinner next month. It arrived in under 10 days so we are very impressed with the service.....he had a wee try on and looks very smart :)

5.DS exam number 2 done and he felt it went okay.....5 more to go.

Dundee doll we will be in for a shock when we get home I think with the cold. When we arrived here 2 years ago we were hardy Scots, now 15o is a chilly day! Today started wet but ended up dry. Nice forecast for the weekend.

Have a lovely day whatever you all get up to.

Will try and work out how to do links OT, otherwise it could take up a whole page!

Thanks for all the kind wishes re muttley, he's still very poorly and I'm not allowed to give him any treats which is killing me, it seems so unfair when he's not well. However I have to abide by what the dishy vet  says, don't want to make things worse. We have to go back for more tests, he thinks it'll be at least a couple of weeks before we see an improvement. Just hope he's well enough to travel (the dog, not the vet. Although wouldn't mind taking him with me :D) to the West Country in a couple of weeks time

Going to investigate links, back with my 5 later

Mhagster 0 one of my pleasures is sorting out the shoes and throwing out a couple of pairs that are beyond even wearing for gardening.

Patchwork quilt - both my DS seem to cope at uni with vitamins from pesto and pasta sauce! both will add onions and peppers and may buy fruit.DS2 has decided that stirfry is good and cheap.
Both convinced subway is good as load sandwich with salad as a treat.

    1. Day off today - its my regular day off but been working overtime since August on Fridays.

    2. Chat with neighbour who I hadn't seen for a while.

    3. Lovely golden moon yesterday evening at 6

    4. Flowers still looking good.

    5. Watched young apprentice.

    5 for today so far.

Lazy day before sons return. (They're at their father's for the 2nd half of half term).

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Porridge with raspberries and banana for breakfast.

    3) Copy of the letter that smaller son's solicitor has sent to school. That should give them something to think about!

    4) Went to Hereford. Did the charity shops but nothing very good so got 2 jumpers from Primark plus some trousers for bigger son. Had lunch in my favourite cafe.

    5) Went to the architectural salvage yard but couldn't get enough tiles to make the new windowsill in the kitchen so will have to go up to Craven Dunhill tomorrow.

    6) All the cats are mad today. Just walking back from the village shop and smallest cat had seen MrN park his car so had decided to stand still waiting for him - in the middle of the main road! She then followed him and circled him so he couldn't get through his gate. She is now hanging off the fireguard by her front claws.... Barry cat is now on my knee after standing by the fireguard looking sullen with one front leg in each of my trainers.

    7) Going to my sister's later for a Chinese takeaway and board games evening.
