Hello! Dozed off on sofa then went to bed fell asleep and DD2 woke me up to tell me she was home and I can't get back to sleep.
It has been a hot, muggy kind of day, temp was to be 34o then a cool change about 5pm and that's exactly what happened! The air just cooled down in a big wind and is much ,more pleasant! I just don't 'do' heat!
1.Work was okay. For the first time in 3 weeks I wasn't chased by ducks!
2.Took DD2 to a primary re-union/transition meeting. So the primary kids could find out what secondary is really like! Her nemesis was sitting beside her, so I gave her lots of 'stares!' It was strange being back at primary school, nice to say hello and chat with a few people (and not even be acknowledged-either of us-by her teacher from last year, strange woman!)
3.Then she had to dash off for a concert at school where she was back stage crew! DD1 was at work so me and my boy went out for dinner, just the 2 of us(well that's moneysaving!) He starts exams tomorrow.
4.Oh is coping with work.....maybe doing a bit too much but he has to find that out for himself!
5.Nice emails and a lovely letter from one of the girls who worked with us last year, who is living in France for a year. I do like a letter! So does she , apparently she has kept every single letter she has received in a suitcase !!
Have a good one!
frith when I went to library last week....also public place, the computer asked if I wanted to return to last page.........er, no thanks! I just wanted to watch Casualty! Honestly why someone would choose to watch what was on the screen in a library I have no idea! Glad you all had a good day out!0 -
No pleasures today, especially when the so called bastion of Fairtrade, the Co-Op in Stonehouse has flying witches in the window and taped lines with Enter if you dare across the fattening fizz drinks machine.
To think they also have skulls, a true symbol of evil. Such evil as was used by the SS in Nazi Germany. Has man learned no lessons. Is man without faith? Is he driven by the greed of corporate norm, Just a number?
We tattoed numbers on people once!
If we want truth in things unknowsn, then man alone causes death! He has done before, he is doing now. He will do again.
You do not have top watch this!!
Ascent of Man
Having witnessed ants crawling for food in Ethopia in 1984, long afore the Burke. The ants were people. The greedy got there first. You could not drop it on their heads!
It is man's inability to understand his own inhumanity.I hvae nt snept th lst fw mntes writg ths post fr yu t cme alng hre nd agre wth m!
Cheers! :beer::beer::beer::beer::beer:0 -
Hugs Ampersand, thinking of you xx
1. Got up at stupid o'clock to finish another book and mooch on t'internet (didn't realise it was that early though!)
2. Bank account is looking very healthy....but that'll be the last full paycheque going in.....gulp! Will enjoy it whilst it lasts!!
3. Interesting outplacement course, and thankfully nice and short so I could do other things.
4. Quick mooch about in London and then I came home as the big smoke wasn't as interesting as it would be with DD around.
5. Lovely chats with DD on the phone as she's up at my parents
6. Lots of YS goodies in supermarket
7. 25% off clothes at MrS supermarket this morning, so I bought a lovely jumper and scarf and wore them to London!! The outfit I put on was a bit too summery for the day......and I will wear the jumper to death I'm sure
8. Got home to find the plasterer has finished everywhere bar the kitchen (as planned). Yay! The bathroom in particular is looking great, now just need to decorate it and have a blind made and that will be one room done
9. Enjoying a nice icy mug (can't remember where I put the glasses in my tidying up and clearing up for the plasterer's arrival) of Baileeys
10. Going over to a chum's in a bit for dinner.0 -
Had a good day today
1. Finished a tube of body lotion and cut off the end - very satisfying to know none wasted.
2. Took lunch too work today.
3. Heating on very low but have jumpers and slippers on.
4. Easy tea of jacket potatoes.
5. Cleaned kitchen cupboards and airing cupboard.0 -
I done very little todas as feeling a bit crook. Have a sore throat / headache thingy going on so
1 - vegged out on the sofa as long as kids let me
2 - made cut out men with them. It frightens me that their colouring in of hair and eyes is so far off. I will save them an show them in 10yrs time!
3 - fish & chips for tea. 'Icelands' dinner. All orange and coated in breadcrumbs. Not a veg in sight unless you count baked beans but all I could be bothered making. Kids ate the lot and hat oreos and milk for pud. Call social services! (they've been snaking on chocolate all day too that my neighbour gave them. I restrict sweets as I am a rotten mum)
4 - Glad to not be in the midst of a hurricane.
that's it.
I also hate Halloween. I hate the idea that kids come and threaten you with a trick unless you hand over the sweets. I am such a humbug!0 -
Keys sticking, one key not working. :-(
Pleasures for today briefly!
1) Lie in.
2) Tidying and 2 loads of washing done.
3) Brought logs in for the fire and so window frame men can get close enough to the wall to fit the new frames.
4) Helpful phone calls to smaller son's solicitor, parent partnership and the SEN team. VERY good grounds for appealling the exclusion.
5) Went to mum and dad's for a cup of tea.
6) My sister just phoned.
7) Sitting in front of the stove watching Big Bang Theory.0 -
Hello - sat watching DS pack for his hols tomorrow :rotfl:
Baggy - shouldn't worry about it, sometimes the closest mine got to veg was tomato ketchup
<<groan>> Mhagster has warm weather again, we don't
For today
1. Had a soak in the bath as OH did school run with DD
2. Really enjoyed a "dragon's den" session with students about their dissertations
3. Some good ideas at a meeting this PM - some of which were generated by me! I am not usually an ideas person - more a developer of other people's ideas. Some call that heckling! :rotfl:
4. DD said that out of 650 auditionees, 106 got parts and she was one of them
5. made chicken stew for tomorrow's tea and for the freezer.
Have a good evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Good evening all !
VJsmum - no worries ! I am not precious about it . It is was it is ..and all that . Just glad that I was a hell raiser before it all happened
Sparrer - I did wonder if you were feeling a bit rough .It's all about pacing yourself and trade offs I reckon.
5 for today
1. Work was exceptionally busy - which made the days whizz past.
2. My ex colleague has recommended that I should take on a specific project to my new manager, which will interest me greatly and I have a good track record in this particular area. Lets see if the dots get joined up...:)
3. OH made tea for us and DM.
4. DM was not impressed as I snaffled the little bags of Harib*s that she had put in her pumpkin bucket (!) for the local kids. :rotfl:OH put a sign on our door "No trick or treats please. An old witch already lives here " Nice.None of them have knocked on the door though !
