It is 20 years today since my lovely dad died, hard to believe time has passed so quickly and he has not been in our lives for that length of time. He was a lovely, gentle man, who passed on his love of reading to me, which I have passed on to my children. Not a day goes by that I don't think of him so he is still very much part of our lives.

have a lovely day( as I toss and turn in the heat!)

Too much supervising pirate costumes - I read this as skull swap. The mind boggles...
  • Gosh, did I miss the naughty knicker seller. Well, reported it as spam this very morn!

SPARRA. He is yours, but I thinks the current Ms Sonny may be a cause a problem with getting near him! His nick name is rocket. Because a rocket would not shift him! And yes, he acts like his picture. A rescue cat who was livid, but calm now. Approx 12 years old. Sleeps a lot!

5 Fish and Chips in a mo for luncheon. We is blessed with a decent chippie so once in a while Ms Sonny gets her coat on and the plates under the grill. Mushy peas and knobbly knees.

4 Just enetered a compie, and saw this. Fort of you gals and, cannot resist. Here you go.

    Hens

That sums me up, so watch it now.

3 Ear trambones later 2 day. Reached that. Ms Sonny says I have gotten old. Well for her, I have not gone rusty, nor do I creak either. Juts like a bottle of aged single malt. But I have kept me hair and muff rugs.

2 Battle last nioght at givinbg away our monies. Too much opjnn yuff, but we never see them! Got the SASRAsubscription through.

1 Give £50 for your poppy this year. Or, £1 for every year of freedon you have had!

  • Hello Everyone,

Thank you so much for all your well wishes. I have passed them all onto my mum, she was a bit overwhelmed that people who have never met her could be so kind- one of the many joys of being on this thread. Lovely, kind people :A

    My five for today;
    1. Was supposed to be having a PJ day and not venturing out as i'm still not 100% but it looked so crisp and lovely outside that I stuck me wellies on and took the dog on the field, no make up and a hat to cover my 'birdsnest' hair . There was a time when it took me over two hours to even get out of the door so I have well and truly conquered the perfectionist gene! and it was a lovely walk and I came back ready to knuckle down and get some work done.

    2. First assignment of my new course done and dusted and sent in meaning I have the rest of the afternoon to lounge about with no pressure to do anything.

    3. Gingerbread Latte and some segments of chocolate orange in the comfort of my own home. Beats spending a fortune in a coffee shop.

    4. Getting compliments and being told I am very talented by OH's brother. I handmade their wedding card and my niece's christening card. It was so nice to be appreciated especially as they cost very little to make and were obviously more special than anything I could have bought.

    5. Ian the Dog. He's not allowed on the bed but everytime I go into the office (adjoining bedroom) I hear him jump up on the bed. I walk through to tell him to get off and he pretends to be having a scratch which in his little doggy brain means he can't hear me and doesn't have to do as he is told :rotfl:We are on telling off number 15 at least!

Thank you all again for your well wishes, I will let you know how she gets on xx

  • 1) Seeing an old friend at lunch time today. We used to go to Spring Harvest together in the olden days and it's such a pleasure to catch up with her.
    2) On the way home I popped into 0xfam to get some ribbon (they really stock a huge amount of random and interesting things) and found a lovely long length of the right colour but only had a tenner and 13p. The lady let me have it for 13p! Still, I don't feel too bad as most of our decluttering has gone there.
    3) Made wrinkly vegetable frittata for this evening. Pud is the last of the grapes with some Greek yoghurt. Yum.
    4) Last year's winter coat has come out - a 'donation' from a friend who got it at 0xfam a year before that. It has certainly been good value.

Well, that's all folks. Have a lovely evening.

    1. Lots of cuddles with DD as she slept in my room last night :)

    2. The book she chose for me at the library was brilliant, I woke up in the middle of the night and had to turn the light on and keep on reading!

    3. Met up with a friend when we took our respective DDs on a day out at an activity centre, and went for a hot chocolate with her (and she very kindly paid) :)

    4. Plasterer has worked more magic and cleared up lots of mess my dad made which was supposed to be for me to tidy!!

    5. My dad came down with a car boot full of books and some DVDs for me to sell at school fete/donate elsewhere/have my pick of :)

    6. Going to pop over to OH's for a cup of tea this evening. I did suggest we go out for a drink in the village pub but he gently reminded me we're both skint........ho hum, minor issue ;) But it'll be nice to be with him even though it's not out out......
